"The location is superb. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Potala Palace. Downstairs, there are plenty of restaurants and shops. The restaurant on the sixth floor offers excellent views of the Potala Palace, perfect for both sunrise and sunset. The room boasts a rare 180-degree view of the Potala Palace, which is a wonderful treat. The hotel facilities are excellent, including oxygen concentrators available for both diffused and nasal use. The service is impeccable; the front desk staff are always incredibly helpful whenever needed. The hotel also has a laundry room and a reading room."

"During my stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in Lhasa, I met a true guardian who brightened my trip with his sincerity and professionalism – our butler, Robert Xiang Hongwei. With every proactive greeting and meticulous action, he transformed the phrase “feeling at home” into a heartwarming reality. The best service is when guests forget they are being “served.” With Robert, I witnessed the pinnacle of hotel service: not making guests feel deliberately “cared for,” but rather, through natural kindness, having every need met silently. His every initiative, every “Okay, I’ll arrange it for you right away,” conveyed the same message: Here, you don't have to be a “guest,” just be “yourself.” The Shangri-La Hotel shines because of employees like him, and the industry is warmed by professionals like him. May this subtle light illuminate the journeys of more people, making every arrival a reunion worth looking forward to. I will definitely choose Shangri-La Hotel again for my next stay!"

"Overall, this hotel is quite good. Its location is very close to the Potala Palace, just a short walk away. It's also not far from Barkhor Street. Parking can be a bit challenging, requiring good driving skills. However, the security guard who directs parking is very nice. The service staff are quite enthusiastic. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and was the best hotel breakfast I had during my time in Tibet. I didn't experience the afternoon tea because we arrived at 7 PM. Free oxygen is available, and they even ask for your arrival time in advance and turn on the oxygen machine an hour or two before you get there. The rooms are equipped with a small tea table, which is convenient for tea drinking. In the hallway, there are various tea sets in a disinfected cabinet for guests to use. We also received some complimentary snacks in the room, which were quite good. I didn't get to experience the sleep aid package. All in all, if you're not driving in Lhasa and want to stay downtown, this hotel is a good choice."

"Extremely satisfied! The hotel is very close to Barkhor Street and Potala Palace, both within walking distance, making its location absolutely superb! The hotel elevator goes directly to the 6th floor, where there's a popular cafe that's perfect for photos. Atour is a chain, so it's very clean and well-equipped with a light luxury feel. The Dyson hairdryer, high-quality pajamas, Peet's coffee, and a coffee machine are all highlights. Most importantly, the hotel also offers a video shoot of the 'dryland scallion pulling' experience, a welcome gift, and afternoon tea/coffee! There's also a butler service; you can just WeChat them if you need anything. Truly excellent! 👍🏻"

"Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay at The St. Regis Lhasa Resort. A special thanks to front desk staff member Riri for doing her best to coordinate a suitable room according to my request. Also, the butler and maintenance technician resolved an air conditioning issue in the middle of the night. The professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm of all the staff at The St. Regis Lhasa Resort, from top to bottom, brought warmth and moved us during our time in Lhasa. There's no distinction of 'high or low' among people; hotel guests and staff simply have different roles and responsibilities. The key lies in how guests' concerns are addressed and the attitude and problem-solving approach of the staff when issues arise. We had booked a basic room, but because I'm sensitive to noise, Riri helped us upgrade to a quieter room. The air conditioning in our room would turn on automatically after being turned off. Around 1 AM, the maintenance technician came back and forth three times. Eventually, they decided to turn off the AC's circuit breaker and fix it the next day (which they did). Before we left, they even sent a small gift as an apology. Breakfast was decent, but I'd describe it as exquisite in presentation, bland in taste, and lacking variety. However, I've also tried meals at the Shangri-La Lhasa, the Crowne Plaza Linzhi, and the Songtsam Bason Co Linka, where some ingredients are even transported from Sichuan in advance due to special circumstances. The taste is generally similar across the board. Given the challenging environment, I believe they've done their best to achieve this level. Regarding some of the room's hardware, there's definitely room for improvement, and the hotel itself is aware of this. I hope to see improvements in the future. "Exceeded my expectations, I'm very satisfied! It's more modern than the St. Regis and offers better views than The Arokam. The 6th floor provides absolutely stunning views of the Potala Palace – I'm incredibly happy with it. Complimentary oxygen: Super helpful, my blood oxygen easily stayed above 90. Potala Palace View Cafe Voucher: You don't actually need this voucher to enjoy the free view, which is beautiful, especially at night. You can also see the 'Long Live the Motherland' slogan from there."

"Great location, only a 10-minute walk to Jokhang Temple. There are plenty of good restaurants, shops, and various outdoor/hiking brands nearby. I really liked their bedding (not just the pillows, but the bed itself felt like it had a memory foam topper, very comfortable). The bath towels were all individually sealed in plastic bags, which felt more hygienic. I paid extra for breakfast, which was standard quality, but the absolute best part was that their 6th-floor restaurant offers an amazing view of the Potala Palace. There's also a small rooftop terrace above the restaurant for taking photos :)"

"Traveling with family, I booked two rooms separately and the hotel was very helpful in coordinating them so we could be close to each other. Their response was quick, and the service was good; it was easy to get help from the front desk even in the middle of the night. The environment was clean and tidy. Highly recommend!"

"It is a very good hotel in Lhasa, but the daily service is really not good. The order is for three days, and the room fee is prepaid, but the room card is only given for one day. I was very tired after playing outside in the evening of the first day, and I had to go to the service desk again to handle the procedures. What a hell! The faucet in the room has no bubbler, and the water flow is divergent when used; the shower head is full of scale, and many holes cannot discharge water, and the water flow rate of the water outlet holes is very fast, which is very uncomfortable on the body. In fact, just scrape the small silicone outlet, and you can only do it yourself. It is called a VIP building, but we are obviously not VIPs. Maybe there is a reception task. There is a parking space next to the entrance of the VIP building, but it is not allowed to park, and it would rather be empty all day. Alas, it is obvious that we asked for trouble when booking the room. The decoration of the whole building is still very luxurious. The room is quite large, the hygiene is still OK, and the oxygen supply service is real. The breakfast is quite good, with rich varieties, many local characteristics, and the dining service is quite good."

"The room facilities were quite good, but the service attitude was very poor, which significantly lowered the overall experience. Pros: The room facilities were relatively new, with a desk and office chair, a small sofa, and convenient amenities like a microwave. Aside from a tear in the carpet, the cleanliness was acceptable. The breakfast offered a good variety, though it was quite crowded. Cons: While one can't expect too much service at this price point and positioning, it's arguably the worst service in its class! Even budget-friendly chains like HUAZHU (Huazhu Group) feel lightyears ahead. Several points of dissatisfaction: Upon check-in, there was a queue, and three people behind the counter seemed to be struggling with something. I waited behind them for a while, and no one acknowledged a new guest had arrived or came over to help. After a long time, I saw someone move to the side, so I approached. Still, no one asked if I was checking in. I walked over and asked if the previous guest was finished, and only then, after being given a look that said 'What are you doing here?', did they start processing my check-in. After taking my ID, they immediately moved to a separate counter (a clearly distinct spot) without telling me to move there. I had to awkwardly move myself. They only provided basic breakfast times for my check-in information and didn't mention anything about the complimentary drinks included in my reservation, which I didn't need anyway so I didn't ask later. The window of my room faced a fence with cigarette butts and other trash scattered below. It was arguably worse than the interior of the room, but it was a basic room type, and a view wasn't a selling point, so I didn't pay too much attention. During check-out, after returning the room card, it took a moment to confirm. No one said 'please wait' or anything, so I just awkwardly stood there. As I left, I said 'thank you,' and was ignored without even a glance. It's clear that the staff here has almost no service awareness. Perhaps this hotel is very confident in its hardware and brand power and isn't too concerned about customer feelings and feedback. However, as a traveler, especially as the last hotel on a self-driving trip along the Sichuan-Tibet highway, it was very disappointing. Almost every other hotel on this trip, expensive or cheap, despite some flaws, had a far better service attitude than this one."
