"The hotel is conveniently located right opposite the main gate of the ancient city, making it super easy to explore the city at night. The street food vendors right outside the hotel, especially the wontons and skewers, were absolutely delicious. The front desk staff and customer service manager were incredibly warm, welcoming, and polite, always ready to help. The free flow of mineral water was a great touch. However, the room we had lacked a window, which meant the air felt stale—I couldn't tell if it was a musty smell or an odor from the bathroom drain. The room was also quite small, and the independent bathroom door was broken, feeling like it could fall off at any moment, which was a safety concern. What's more, for almost 500 yuan, this kind of room felt overpriced, though I understand prices go up during summer; normally, a room like this would be around 100-200 yuan. Other than that, the service was excellent. The hardware and pricing were what they were. On a side note, the delivery service in Datong is incredibly fast! Instead of queuing at famous restaurants, it's better to order takeout from two or three well-known brands—the shaomai and stir-fries were all delicious. Datong is a fantastic city for a summer getaway, and I'll definitely be back."
