Hotels with Breakfast in Kathmandu

I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel during my visit to Kathmandu. The property is beautiful and full of character, making it an excellent choice for travelers who appreciate traditional Nepali architecture and culture. The hotel has done a wonderful job preserving its heritage charm, creating a peaceful and authentic atmosphere that feels very different from a typical modern hotel. As an eco-friendly property, the hotel does not provide air conditioning or a refrigerator in the rooms. However, I did not find this to be an issue at all, as the weather was pleasant and comfortable throughout my stay. The staff were outstanding. Everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful, always greeting guests with a smile and making me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was simple and fairly standard, without a huge variety of choices, but everything was fresh and enjoyable. The yogurt, in particular, was excellent and definitely worth trying. There was only one minor issue in my room: the ceiling fan seemed to run at the same speed regardless of the setting, so even the lowest level felt quite strong. I never mentioned it to the front desk because it was not a major inconvenience. The biggest area for improvement would be the Wi-Fi connection. Unfortunately, the signal was quite weak and unreliable, especially for anyone who needs a stable internet connection for work or communication. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The beautiful traditional design, eco-conscious concept, relaxing atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality more than made up for the small inconveniences. The whole hotel system seems to be created with foreigners in mind. I stayed for 2 nights, while my family stayed for 3 nights. I originally booked the 2 nights through Trip.com. When I wanted to add an extra day, I was informed it was better to book it again online. At that time, I was in Nepal for 3 days and my phone was being repaired in Hong Kong, so I didn’t have access to my usual email or digital wallet. I had Nepali cash, but the payment system wouldn’t allow it, and I was denied the option to add more nights directly at the front desk. I tried booking again using my temporary phone, but the credit/card wouldn’t allow it—possibly because the phone and location were new and my digital wallet couldn’t be used. The only solution was asking a friend to book the additional night for me. This experience made me feel that the system is not friendly to Nepali guests and that they may strongly prefer online foreign-currency-style payment methods rather than Nepali rupees. I also tried to get the Nepali rate. It was around NPR 12,000–15,000, while the online rate was significantly cheaper. Based on the current currency conversion, the price difference felt like it could be about 3,000–5,000 rupees less online. This also made me feel they may not truly support Nepali pricing equally. The front desk staff were sometimes helpful, but they often didn’t seem genuine. Some staff seemed reluctant and not truly welcoming or happy to assist. In contrast, the only people who felt consistently happy to see me amd my family were the housekeeping staff and the guards. About the room it’s a bit small. I took a long warm shower, and after a while the water started leaking toward the bedroom corridor. However, there were also positives—despite being in Kathmandu, the tap had good water flow and the water color looked clear, not yellowish (and not as low-flow). Overall, the stay didn’t feel welcoming to me or my family. I’m not sure if this is because the system is designed not to cater well to Nepali guests, or simply because the staff attitude was “blah.” Would I stay again? It feels like 50–50. My honest advice is: if you’re not Nepali, you will love it. But if you are Nepali and want to feel genuinely welcomed, you should think carefully—because you could spend the same amount or much more less at a family-owned business and likely feel much more respected and welcomed.

Great location and modern facilities. It's clean, but the staff truly stand out as exceptional. Every staff member, from the front desk to the breakfast area, is warm and genuinely caring. The breakfast menu changes daily to suit guests' preferences, and they even create off-menu dishes themselves. I'm definitely coming back!

We have booked deluxe room after checking pics which has balcony but when we checked in they gave us room no. 803 without balcony i show them my booking details which has balcony even though hotel it self website showing deluxe room with balcony but they refused so beware if your booking deluxe room. There is so many thing are downside Only 1 option for indian veg food for all 3 days No conditioner in shower Check in in allow only 30 mins. Before  Check out sharp 12 pm  even hotel is only 20-30% occupied If you are indian and strict vegetarian please choose other option like farfied by marriott which 4-5 mins walking distance from that location.

The hotel is conveniently situated right behind of the Garden of Dreams. Just a short walking distance to the busy Thamel area. The vicinity has convenience stores, cafes, eateries and pharmacy. The room is quite small but it's alright for a short stay. The bed wasn't quite as comfortable as other hotels that I've stayed. Very basic fitness facility in the hotel, do wish that they would make the gym bigger and better equipped. The breakfast buffet is good enough for some fuel before heading out to explore. Omelette could definitely be improved but I do like the mushrooms and bacon with my omelette. They also have a soup station which you can pick what you want to go into your soup. The soy latte was nicely done. Some day they serve the chocolate cake which is a must try. Staffs are very well trained and speaks good english. I'd definitely recommend staying here for the value for money, fantastic location and good hospitality.

Hotel Lo Mustang is located in Thamel And its unique selling point has to be its location as it is very close to all of the shops bars and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and the WiFi is very strong

The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

I stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

Smack in the heart of Thamel. Great retreat in the mayhem of it all. Awesome room and service. A few loud bars in the area but they close early, a little later on the weekend. Bed and hot water awesome. Has cable T.V. to watch movies or catch up with what's going on in the world. Worth the money you pay to stay at this place

The hostel is located in the Thamel area, surrounded by restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs, making it super convenient to get around. The cleanliness of the hostel is decent, but they provide blankets, which probably aren't changed daily. However, the sheets and pillowcases seem to be changed regularly. The room has air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and there's hot water available. Overall, it's pretty good, especially for only eighteen bucks a night – you can't beat that value for money!
