AAnonymous UserFantastic atmosphere! The hotel is very close to the main attractions in Kurokawa Onsen. The rooms themselves are quite spacious and come with air conditioning (heater). When we realized we didn't have a 100V adapter, the staff quickly found us a charging station with USB output. The hotel has 6 private onsen rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis. There's a separate app on the TV to track their availability. In mid-March, there was enough availability for everyone. But if you don't want to wait, you can always go to the shared men's/women's onsen. I really liked that you're not allowed to wear shoes inside the ryokan (the residential area); you have to leave them until check-out and receive slippers to wear around the premises. Oh, and I almost forgot â there's a lady at the front desk who speaks excellent English, big thanks to her for explaining the main rules!

GGuest UserThe resort location is accessible actually by bus from tateno ç«é station and the last bus is in the evening you may check the timetable online. We did not drive and leaving the accommodation is less convenient because all taxis were booked out but the staff was very friendly as to driving us to the nearby train station to continue our journey to Aso Volcano.
Service was good. The private onzen was amazing and we were able to use it for one hour. The public bath was good too but the amenities they provided inside were not as enough, eg they don't have comb for ladies and make up removing pads. Other than that, cleanliness was amazing and staff were friendly, rooms had amazing Mountain View's.

CChuck ChuangI love the interior of this resort. The staff members are really friendly and helpful. I had little knowledge in selecting local onsen resort, so my initial expectation was not high. Much to my surprise, I love everything this hotel has had. Facility wise everything looks brand new. The room is spacious and comfy. The public bath and indoor onsen are big and clean.
As for the meals, the presentations were good and they were delicious. I have no complaint about it. Keep up with the good work. Look forward to staying there again.

tattoo-friendly onsen, but the showers are only on the first floor. the private outdoor rooftop onsen does not have a shower, so itâs better to shower downstairs first; otherwise, it can be quite chilly to rinse yourself outside using the buckets.
there is free parking, but the street itself is very narrow and busy with pedestrians; the ryokan staff can help with parking. the staff warned us about the parking situation in advance and advised leaving the car at a free parking lot in the village center, but there were no spaces available.

VVarnTeingKurokawa onsen was the highlight of my trip to Kyushu. So I splurged on this accomodation. I chose a room with river view and it was the best decision. Love the stay so much.
Staffs were lovely and helpful. They speak good English and Mandarin. Lobby was spacious. Plenty of spaces to chill and chat as a family.
The onsens were abundance to choose from.
Breakfast was awesome, so was dinner.
We got the room with 2 beds and 2 futons. We all enjoyed our stay so much

GGuest UserFrom entering the parking lot everything is taken care of, the rooms are enormous, the size of and amenities of a decently sized appartment along with a large kitchen and finally a private onsen fit for two people right next to the beautiful Kurokawa onsen river, aswell as a small waterfall creating an absolutely dreamy experience. The Ryokan is a about a five minutes walk outside the city center which is absolutely no problem as you have everything you need there.
The gentleman in the reception speaks decent English so even with no japanese knowledge you should be fine
They only seem to have four rooms, we got lucky and booked two days ahead, but most likely won't be that lucky.
Absolutely would go again, great experience

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop. The rooms are spacious and come with a private toilet and sink. Guests are provided with yukata, socks, toothbrushes, and combs, and even instant noodles await them in their rooms. The hotel also features communal baths, separated for men and women. In front of the building, there's a hot foot bath. Just a five-minute walk away is the main building, where guests of this hotel can access another public bath. On the first floor, there's a hot water dispenser, tea, and coffee available. We were allowed to leave our luggage before check-in. The only downside is the lack of an elevator; it can be tough to climb the steep stairs with heavy suitcases.

Early in the morning even the deer breakfasted opposite our terrace đŠ The common swimming pools were very much liked , the water was hot as you wanted . The room in Japanese style was taken and it corresponds to the mood , I wanted to enter Japanese culture . The hotel owners helped us in this đ All staff very kind . Food is very delicious , for two nights different menus . Thank you the chef of the chef đ It was my birthday and I spent a great time . The Recan fulfilled our expectations đ«
