Clean n spacious room different furniture configuration for our 2 rooms booked. . Clean n new towels. AC room with mini fridge n a safe deposit box but mind isn't working though. Complementary Welcome drinks n snack in mini bar which only found out later on upon inquiry of Mineral water. Laminated floor which is a super point for us due to hygienic reason. Bathrobes provided bathroom will get wet easily coz without a door. . Toiletries n disposal slippers provided upon request. Body lotion, body wash, hair shampoo n conditioner provided. House keeping should be more thorough. Wastebin in bathroom not emptied for our 3days stay. Used cups not replaced with new ones at all. Sachets of drinks also not filled up. Guest UserWe stayed for two nights as our bathroom is being replaced at home.
This is a former Premier Inn which retains the 'footprint' and build/comfort standard of a PI. The rooms have showers instead of baths which is perfect for me. I rang ahead and requested a ground floor room which was honoured- we were given room 2 which met our needs and requirements.
Bed was really comfortable, tv had limited channels but I was able to log into my Netflix. There is hanging space for your clothes, a hair dryer and plenty of sockets, none by the bed though. The WiFi was adequate for our needs.
There is free, secure parking provided at the rear of the hotel - you need a code to exit so as safe as can be. No noise considering the M4 motorway and main A48 sandwich the hotel.
There is a restaurant for food but we didn't use it. Menu was a bit pricey but has good reviews.
All the staff that we met were friendly. The Receptionists were lovely and a big shout out to Alice who sorted our return visit next week when we get back from holiday.
For the money it's excellent value for a clean, friendly place to stay.

Guest UserGreat location to the city centre, car park at hotel with 55 spaces and at a rate of £25 per night, very secure and well lit. Staff very friendly and available 24 hours a day. We had a free upgrade to a Kings Superior Suite which was a very spacious room, although the bathroom was quite small compared to the room size, non the less was a nice touch and discount coupons in with our key card for 10% off food and drinks and four vouchers for free coffees, which also was a nice touch. Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay again. Friendly service and pleasant staff. After having an issue with the car park lift we got an upgrade which included access to the executive lounge which was a lovely touch. Drinks, snacks and hot food included. Its not out first stay here and we will stay here again in the future.

I have a really mixed feeling about this hotel. I booked the superior room with tree lined view and asked for a quiet room: the receptionist gave me an extremely cold and noisy room right next to the motorway and above some nightclubs. My watch has identified the noise level is over the normal limit. I couldnāt fall asleep due to the loud noise even at midnight. I called the receptionist to change a room. Unfortunately, they first gave me a standard room that the heating system was not working and much smaller than I have paid for. The two maintenance officers who came to check the heating system are very helpful and suggested to change to another room. Only by then, I was able to change to another room that matched the similar sized of a superior room, but without tree lined view. I must say that all the receptionists were friendly and polite but behind their friendliness, they are not really helpful at all. I had my dinner, a sea bass meal, at the restaurant - see the photo. The dinner and the service was both outstanding. The kettle in the room was not very clean; it could easily be cleaned by using small spray to remove the calcium. The gym and swimming pool are excellent. If you are not used to live in really loud room, please double check with the receptionists. It is also not worth to pay an extra 10 pounds per night to get a so called tree lined room with extreme loud noise. I also wonder the reason for the hotel to give customers rooms that the heating system are not working. It would helpful to check before they allocate room to customers. It would also helpful that the hotel ensure that the room has reasonable temperature before admitting guests, esp on a very cold winter night. Overall, this is not a very good experience. I was not able to sleep for a whole night. I paid extra in the hope of getting a better and quiet room but ended up with one of the worst room without getting any compensation.

Having lived in Cardiff for decades, I always thought the Raddison Blu looked smart. Ā First time trying there and I was really disappointed. Ā It's shabby, the room was really stark and overall it needs some attention. Ā Reception was full of leaves and granted that the weather was a bit grim, but it gave a dreadful first impression. Ā The room was very disappointing - painted blue and really really stark. Huge bed (two singles pushed together) a desk and some weird little table - all furniture was bashed and scratched and the room was a very odd layout. The bathroom was decent (and made the room look worse because it was quite modern) but the shower door wouldn't stay closed so the floor was sopping wet. Ā Despite the website saying that every room had a hairdryer, I had to ring reception to request one. Ā The bed wasn't too bad but they have to be the worst pillows I've ever slept on - hard doesn't come close. Ā Overall, I wouldn't stay there again and feel there are far better hotels in the area for the same money which were more welcoming, more modern and less bleak!

The stay was really good overall the room was clean, comfortable, and everything went smoothly. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better.
However, I was a bit disappointed that I had to pay £16 for parking for the whole day. It would have been nice if parking was included in the stay or at least offered at a reduced rate for guests.
Apart from that, everything else was great and I enjoyed my stay

Iām so glad we decided to stay at The Coal Exchange Hotel in Cardiff. Iād been given the very important job of finding a place to stay overnight for my friendās special birthday. I didnāt really know where to start, so I compared prices of hotels in the area. I was surprised to find that the ābudgetā hotels Premier Inn and Travelodge were no cheaper than The Coal Exchange for the given dates! I had a look at the photos and reviews and it looked perfect for a special occasion. It was steeped in history with the interior design staying true to the period in which it was built. Originally, as there were five of us, I had booked the sextuplet room. It looked amazing and we were all really excited about staying there. Unfortunately though, due to maintenance work being carried out on that part of the building, we had to change our plans to three double rooms right next to each other. The rooms were beautiful. Floor to ceiling double windows, opulent wallpaper, ornate period furniture and a lovely comfortable centrepiece bed.
The bathrooms had gorgeous jacuzzi baths and stone basins.
The following morning we had a delicious breakfast in Culleyās Restaurant situated inside the Coal Exchange.
The staff here are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have the best stay.
Canāt wait to go back.

Located in the middle of the city centre close to castle and local attractions. Unfortunately room backed into a night club which played music till 4am. If you are a light sleeper this could be an issue. Other then that lovely place.
