Loved your hotel. Ā We had a fantastic king room with sea views & the bed was very comfortable. Didnāt have the evening meal there but loved the breakfast, it was the best weāve ever had. Ā Location was superb.

Guest UserThe shower is poorly designed, water leaks out and basically floods the whole bathroom floor. The windows and its surrounding areas are very dirty. The breakfast service poor, always have to proactively ask for coffee tea, the staff likes to gather and chit chat loudly in front of guests. Overall, poor cleanliness and mediocre service. Only positive is the good location, but can get noisy and rowdy at times. The worse Marriott Iāve stayed.

Anonymous UserWe just spent the one night here while attending a family occasion. The staff were friendly, the room spacious and very clean and all this at an excellent price. Lots of free parking and local shops/food outlets

I really enjoyed my stay overall. The location was fantasticāon a beautiful streetāand the hotel building itself is stunning. When I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by a very kind Italian gentleman, which gave me a great first impression. My room, though located in a separate area, was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Everything looked fresh and well thought out.
However, I was disappointed to find visible stains on the bed sheets. While I believe they had been washed, the stains hadnāt come out and the sheets were still used, which didnāt match the high standard the rest of the hotel presented. I think they should have replaced them.
Another minor inconvenience was the bathroom light, which was automatic and triggered the extractor fan. This meant that even during the night, using the bathroom caused the noisy fan to stay on for a while, which couldāve been avoided with a manual light switch, in my opinion.
Despite these issues, the stay was mostly very positive, but I canāt give a full five stars because of the sheets. Hopefully this can be improved for future guests.

Guest UserThe bed was very comfortable, and the location is right on the liveliest street. While the location is convenient, itās also quite noisyāthere were people drinking and partying downstairs late into the night. Early in the morning, you can hear the sound of bottles being cleared from the street.

Our room door was open when we arrived and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Rang up and everything was resolved very quickly. Had some extras because of the inconvenience.
The room was very quiet so had a very good night's sleep both nights.

The stay was really good overall the room was clean, comfortable, and everything went smoothly. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better.
However, I was a bit disappointed that I had to pay £16 for parking for the whole day. It would have been nice if parking was included in the stay or at least offered at a reduced rate for guests.
Apart from that, everything else was great and I enjoyed my stay

AniwithluiI stayed here for a business trip for one week. The room seemed to be clean but it is so dark that you canāt really tell if it is clean or not. Thatās actually an issue - the lightening is bad. I couldnāt really work in the room since it had only a yellow ambient lightening and not a normal main source of light. The bathroom can be slightly cold if you donāt leave the door open so that warm air from the A/C can enter. It is shameful that they donāt have a breakfast included, especially for long stays in the hotel which is not so cheap and out of the center⦠at least one small sandwich would make things better, but nop šš¼. Another thing is that the area is not very nice. Unless you have to do something in that area, i donāt recommend you to stay. I was even told by taxi drivers to not walk around alone after it gets dark. Before I knew that, I did take a walk and it really felt a bit unsafe. The staff was ok, I didnāt have much contact with them. Only had an incident when I arrived - they couldnāt find me in their system (it was booked under other name by mistake but I actually changed it a week before arrival so I donāt know why they didnāt have updated information). There is a small gym, but almost all machines, except one, are for cardio exercises. Almost no restaurants or shops in the area.

It is a good hotel, good size swimming pool & have both steam room and sauna, however, been twice now on weekdays and both times very busy.
Mainly self check-ins which loses the personal touch I feel and not too happy charged extra for parking giving the location of the hotel.
Great service in the restaurant.

Iām so glad we decided to stay at The Coal Exchange Hotel in Cardiff. Iād been given the very important job of finding a place to stay overnight for my friendās special birthday. I didnāt really know where to start, so I compared prices of hotels in the area. I was surprised to find that the ābudgetā hotels Premier Inn and Travelodge were no cheaper than The Coal Exchange for the given dates! I had a look at the photos and reviews and it looked perfect for a special occasion. It was steeped in history with the interior design staying true to the period in which it was built. Originally, as there were five of us, I had booked the sextuplet room. It looked amazing and we were all really excited about staying there. Unfortunately though, due to maintenance work being carried out on that part of the building, we had to change our plans to three double rooms right next to each other. The rooms were beautiful. Floor to ceiling double windows, opulent wallpaper, ornate period furniture and a lovely comfortable centrepiece bed.
The bathrooms had gorgeous jacuzzi baths and stone basins.
The following morning we had a delicious breakfast in Culleyās Restaurant situated inside the Coal Exchange.
The staff here are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have the best stay.
Canāt wait to go back.
