Spend new year eve as a staycation for my 5yo daughter. We were lucky to get a room manage to watch the fireworks for 5-7 time in a night my girl lay on bed admiring the fireworks so relaxing and no need to go into crowded

Staff was friendly when approached. Location is very good near a MRT station and enough restaurants. Breakfast was good and had enough variation but the offerings outside were very tempting. I requested a room with a high view at the stadium and the water. But the pictures on the bookingsite are very old and not valid anymore. There are taller buildings located between the V-Lavender hotel and the stadium now. The City view was not breathtaking but ok. A pity the windowsill was made of marble/stonelike material so not really comfortable to sit. But it still offers a nice place to sit and look outside with a (free) cup of tea of coffee.

The location is great, making it very convenient for getting around, which is the biggest highlight. It's close to the MRT station, and there's a covered walkway from Rochor A exit (DT Line) to protect you from the rain. It's also near Bugis.

The room was clean and tidy, and the linens were spotless. However, the room was quite narrow; with a double bed for two people, you had to turn sideways to walk around.

Breakfast was S$15 per person. While the variety wasn't extensive, it was sufficient to fill you up. The dining area was very small and often crowded.

Regarding service, a commendable aspect is the free luggage storage, which is very convenient and helpful for guests with late flights. The staff at the luggage room and the greeters provided excellent and impressive service.

For housekeeping, we left a note requesting not to make the bed. However, apart from changing the trash bags, other essential daily amenities were not replenished.

Overall, it's not bad, but the room is too small and not particularly cheap. If you're only staying for one or two nights, it's still a worthwhile option.

Bus stop just in front of the Hotel. Nearby there are many restaurants as well. Since, bus stop access is very important to me, I've repeatedly stayed in this hotel. You can put your luggage in the hotel after checkout then pick it up later while waiting for your departure.

The room was clean and tidy, and the location was very convenient. The staff were enthusiastic, and the bathroom was spotless. However, there was a strong sewage smell from the toilet in the morning that affected the room.

My friend and I really loved our stay. Our room was clean and regularly tidied up. We also loved the charming neighborhood which was accessible both to buses and the MRT station. Although the latter is around a 10-minute walk— that's near to us already and we don't mind since it's such a walkable neighborhood. What made our stay even better though was the customer service. Thank you so much, Joseph and Davin, for being so accommodating. We appreciated all your help and assistance. 💞 We're definitely coming back and we're missing SG already. :)

The hotel boasts an excellent location right next to the MRT station, with Fort Canning Park just a stone's throw away. The Old Hill Street Police Station is next to the park, and Clarke Quay is right beside the police station. I saw reviews mentioning poor soundproofing before but didn't pay much mind to them; now that I've stayed here, I truly regret not listening. There's virtually no sound insulation; you can hear doors opening and closing and people walking in the hallway as if they're in your own room. The lobby's air freshener scent is overwhelming. The room itself is very small.

My brother's family enjoyed as hotel Cleanliness is maintained. Located I'm a busy area With nearby bus stop and MRT.
My only frustration is they are unable to change the date since there's a major changes I didn't even asks for refund. I am begging them to change the date or modify the date and timing for changes Is not peak season.
Being unconsiderate with reasonable reasons will affect the trust and loyalty between the hotel and guests.
I have emailed, called the 3rd party I booked this hotel they gave me a hard time too.

Pros: Relatively new compared to others in the Hotel 81 chains; close to MRT and bus routes; lots of restaurants around; front desk and maintenance staff are lovely, helpful, and responsive; daily housekeeping and provides clean towels, extra pillows, etc. 

Cons: Poor sound-proofing infrastructure. You can literally hear every single thing in the hallway, the room next door, above and below you. Furthermore, while the room itself, sheets, and towels are clean, i’ve noticed some yellow stains on the sheets and some towels. Not sure what they are so that’s why I asked for new ones.  

Overall, not a bad stay. If you’re only visiting for a few days and are not fussy about the room size and loud noises, this place meets all of the requirements.

🛏️ Hotel 81｜Budget Stay That Does the Job

If you’re just looking for a place to sleep in Singapore that won’t burn a hole in your wallet, Hotel 81 is your best bet. It was the cheapest option I could find, and honestly, it gets the job done.

The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the basics I needed. Big plus: my room had a window, which made a huge difference in making the space feel less claustrophobic. Don’t expect luxury — this is purely a functional stay.

It’s not a place for lounging or extended stays, but if you just need a safe, air-conditioned room to crash in after a full day out, Hotel 81 delivers. Would definitely consider staying again for a short stopover.

It is similar to a B&B apartment. It seems to be newly opened in 2024. Its location is relatively remote. Entering from a small road, the navigation can hardly find the door. The interior of the room is relatively simple. A deposit of 200 baht is required at the front desk. Two sandwiches are given for breakfast. , 2 bottles of Coke are provided for free in the refrigerator in the room. There is a 7-11 convenience store 500 meters next to it, and the environment is very quiet.

The overall environment is good, the price is very high
