No crowds, no traffic jams, just vibrant autumn foliage, bare white birch trunks standing tall and straight amidst the woods, and a lake as calm as a mirror, reflecting picturesque scenery. It's a view you truly need to see with your own eyes, one that brings peace to your heart.
Staying here, the moment you open your eyes, the moment you step out, you're living in a painting, and that painting stays with you.
Needless to say, the rooms were clean and hygienic. We booked different room types for our two-day stay, and each offered a unique view. The wide, floor-to-ceiling windows in the loft were absolutely stunning – I could have stared out of them for ages.
The service was incredibly warm, and the amenities were comprehensive. The staff were enthusiastically helpful without being overbearing, the chartered driver was reliable, and the travel itinerary was thoughtfully planned. We even tried an electric-assist family bike for the first time. Plus, there were thoughtful souvenirs, exquisite and delicious breakfasts, unexpectedly tasty snacks, and a concert in the evening...

1170990****For this trip to the Far North, I planned everything myself. I snagged train tickets for the Harbin-Mohe round trip 15 days in advance – if you can't get them, just wait on the standby list until they become available.
When choosing accommodation, my eye was immediately drawn to this newly opened guesthouse. A little hesitant, I called the owner before booking. This 80s-born owner (referring to someone born in the 1980s) helped us arrange a chartered car and guide, and also gave us some crucial tips. He was so friendly that I immediately took his advice to skip staying in Beihong Village and booked three nights here instead. We were incredibly lucky; we got a notification on the 6th that the aurora's KP index would be 6-7 on the evening of the 9th. Even though it had snowed earlier, he told us to be on standby that night and then drove our group out to chase the aurora, stargaze, see the extreme cold light pillars, and even provided props for us to play with and take photos.
The guesthouse is right by the river, and they offer free 'splashing water into ice' (don't waste 10 yuan paying others for this!). The owner even tells you the best times to go out and try it. I missed the first day's windless sunrise; after breakfast, I went upstairs, and it was already snowing [crying emoji]. I tried again today, but unfortunately, it was very windy, which reduced the effect.
Regarding the chartered driver, it depends on how many people you have. If you want to save time and have a better experience, I recommend booking a private car. Find a local guide to handle all the pick-ups and drop-offs – it'll also save you money. In the extreme cold of minus 30 degrees, dragging luggage around everywhere felt like quite a test of courage.

Llily_yan001Although it was -40 degrees Celsius, the guesthouse was so warm and cozy. We even had to sleep with the windows open at night. There were free water-splashing ice machines to play with outside, and fireworks too. The owner was incredibly helpful, constantly assisting us with finding shared rides and group tours. They were so hospitable; they even gave us two bottles of water when we left, which touched me deeply. Although I won't be coming back to Mohe (too cold), I'll definitely recommend it to my friends!

GGuest UserThe proprietress was incredibly warm and hospitable, showing the characteristic generosity and open-heartedness of people from Northeast China. The room was clean and tidy, and there were plenty of dining options nearby, so we didn't have to worry about food. The nights were also very quiet, making for a very comfortable stay. Plus, there are many unique spots in the area perfect for sightseeing and photos.

BBaaotuokaishangshanThe hotel's location is relatively quiet. While dining options require a few minutes' walk south, this contributes to a peaceful environment. However, the rooms offer virtually no soundproofing, so noise from other rooms – whether it's doors slamming or people talking loudly – is easily heard.
True to its name, 'Muju' (Wooden Dwelling), the hotel boasts unique decor. The courtyard is also nicely arranged, featuring rabbits and various plants.
Breakfast was very simple, offering a few small side dishes. The soy milk had a distinctive, somewhat savory flavor, and the date cake was quite good.
The owner was wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. They even gave my child a small gift when we left.

MM28845****Compared to Beihong Village, Beiji Village is an extremely commercialized place. When booking, I immediately spotted Yigeli Wooden House among the many guesthouses; its typical log cabin style was very appealing. As a southerner, I'd never stayed in a completely wooden house before, and this was definitely an experience I wanted to have.
Log cabins are traditional Russian dwellings; everything you see is wood. The creaking of the stairs reminded me of walking on the wooden floors of old buildings when I was a child.
I was shocked when I opened the door. The owner must have upgraded us to a log cabin terrace suite. It was huge! There was a massive living room, bedroom, and bathroom; at night, it felt almost eerily empty.
The view from the terrace was nice. I walked carefully on the floor, afraid of disturbing the people downstairs. However, I later discovered that the soundproofing seemed quite good; apart from the sound of my own footsteps, I couldn't hear any noise from the surrounding rooms.
The shower was an integrated shower room with a water jet and massage function. I'd only ever seen this in the Lisboa Hotel in Macau; I didn't expect to see it here. The only downside was that the space inside was too small; it was difficult to even turn around after closing the door.
Breakfast was decent, with a good selection. After eating, we continued our drive.
By the way, I always felt the style and arrangement of the furniture in the rooms and dining room was a bit odd. Upon closer inspection, I realized many of them were items I'd sourced from Vienna Hotels.
The only downside was that the heating pipes in the room seemed to have a problem; there was a constant sound of water flowing, sometimes loud, sometimes soft, which woke me up several times during the night.
