Min TeckAn absolute 10/10 stay in Nara City! Yamatonoyado KITAKYOBATE is a beautiful, 2-story property that is kept incredibly clean. The layout is perfect for families or groups, giving everyone plenty of room to relax. I was blown away by the number of amenities provided right in the room—they have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay comfortable. The location in kitakyobate-cho is peaceful yet convenient. Checking in was seamless, and the overall experience was flawless. Will definitely book this place again on my next trip to Japan!

Hygiene: Yellow stains that had not been cleaned were found on the toilet
Environment: Halfway up Mount Wakakusa, isolated from the outside noise. The overall design style is modern Japanese. If you want to experience pure Japanese living, you should pay attention to the difference
Service: The service is still worthy of praise. The driver and front desk staff are very enthusiastic. They helped arrange the car to go up the mountain in the morning. It was very lucky to see 👀 deer🦌 on a rainy day
Food: Most of the food arranged is made from local ingredients in Nara. The ingredients are not gorgeous, the taste is OK, and it is more down-to-earth

We went by car!
There was a parking lot where guests could park for free.
The location was also great, as it was only about a 15-minute walk to Todaiji Temple.
We booked a room with dinner and breakfast included, and both were delicious and very satisfying (;;)
They provided petit cakes in the evening, which we enjoyed eating while doodling in our memory notebook!
They even have a hot spring!
The inside of the hotel was very clean, and everything was great, so we were very satisfied!
If I come to Nara again, I'd love to stay here!

Very recommended hotel, be sure to order a package with meals, the experience is full.
The hotel is a small Japanese-style building. To be precise, it is a homestay. There are about 10 rooms. Each room is not the same in size and facilities.
The front desk is already very distinctive, and some Japanese-style furnishings can be seen everywhere, messy and not messy. There are free snacks and delicious pineapple ice in the public area
The room is large, and there will be staff to lay tatami in advance at night. The independent toilet and bathroom are very exquisitely designed. There is a large wooden barrel on the balcony to take a bath, and there is a public soup pool upstairs.
Breakfast and dinner are typical Japanese flavors. The kaiseki cuisine for dinner is very cost-effective. Every meal is exquisitely presented. Sushi fish barbecue is included. You can definitely eat well.
The slight disadvantage is that the check-in time is a bit late, and the second is that the indoor air conditioning wind cannot be adjusted too small. But the whole can be inclusive.

A fantastic designer hotel. The one-night stay with two meals is perfect for a relaxing vacation. All meals are in private rooms with a wonderful ambiance. The kaiseki dinner was excellent; I highly recommend trying it if you're staying at the hotel.
The service was meticulous, and there was Chinese-speaking staff, so communication was no problem at all.
Feeding the deer during the day and soaking in the private onsen in the afternoon was so relaxing and enjoyable. I slept very well and felt completely at ease. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Nara!

Guest UserChecking in can take a while, as the butler asks quite a few detailed questions and then gives a thorough introduction to the building and its various areas. Some staff members have good English, others not so much, which can sometimes make understanding difficult, but it doesn't significantly impact the overall experience.
The breakfast is exquisite. During the tail end of the Golden Week holiday, we had to queue for a table. The Japanese grilled fish was delicious, but other dishes were just okay. The Western options were decent and quite plentiful. The room was clean and tidy, and on our last day, we even saw deer chasing and playing in the courtyard.
The hotel has a distinct resort vibe, and Kengo Kuma's design features many highlights. It's a tranquil oasis in a bustling area, and the courtyard is beautifully maintained. Most guests seemed to be older, well-established families, with fewer young people. (As a 'workhorse' who needed to get some work done in the evening, I found there were no power outlets near the desk for my laptop, which really drove home the point that everyone else was truly here to relax and enjoy their vacation).
Overall, I had a very pleasant and comfortable holiday. It's a beautiful hotel and definitely worth experiencing.

Anonymous UserCheck in and check out process is easy. Location wasn't our consideration when booking the place since we are driving there. The parking lot is opposite the house. We were late when check in and it's abit dark in the surrounding so we couldn't recognise which was the right parking lot for the unit until we saw the manual / guide in the kitchen.

Nice and chill reception. Really feels cozy and informal. Room was clean and simple, tatami mat floor and futon, very comfortable. The warming blanket was amazing! Toilet was super clean, which was such a relief. Very quiet neighbourhood. Close to buss tops and a giant bookshop/starbucks.

Overall, I was quite satisfied, meeting my expectations. The price was relatively reasonable, and the value for money was good.
The facilities were complete, with a bathroom and shared washing machine within the B&B. Although there was only one bathroom, I didn't have to worry about long waits. There was also a kitchen available, and the overall cleanliness was excellent. The nearest bus stop is 300 meters away, so transportation and the surrounding area are acceptable. The owner is Chinese and speaks Mandarin without any issues.
Room 201 was quite small, practically covered entirely with mattresses, and only accommodated a 28-inch suitcase, though the owner had explained in advance.
Note that there are few people nearby, and most of them are elderly, so please keep your voice down both on the way and in the room.
