"This is the worst ryokan I've ever stayed at. It's located on Sunhwado Road, so it doesn't feel like a ryokan at all. The rooms are very old and not very clean. The food is so cheap that I felt neglected at both breakfast and dinner. It felt like a ryokan struggling to stay afloat due to its small number of guests."

We need to take a hotel shuttle bus, but the driver did not tell us how to pick us up after we went down the mountain. We had to take a taxi back. Taxi fees in Japan are indeed not cheap."

"This B&B is in an excellent location. It costs about 1,300 yen to take a taxi from Kintetsu Nara Station. You can directly reach the foot of Mt. Wakakusa. Just go down a few steps and you will find this B&B... Facilities: The shared toilets and bathrooms are really clean...the bathrooms have sufficient water pressure, a bit similar to the bathrooms in RVs Environment: If there is any shortcoming, it is because the room is a bit old, so there will be a bit of musty smell when you come in, and the floor will creak a bit when you step on it. The rest is very good, the location is perfect, you can see deer outside the window, and you can go out early in the morning. You can go to Wakakusa Mountain, the deer are still sleeping Service: The front desk speaks English very well and can communicate easily. They will also give you a map and explain how to play. Nara Ryokan

"This place was so cute and excellent. Staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate easily enough. Room was Japanese Ryokan style. Tatami mats, low table. It had everything needed, shower and toilet in the room too. There is also an onsen that you can reserve for your private use. I asked for a time later at night and they still had one spot available. If you can't get a time then it is "public use" after 22:00, which seems to mean that you might need to share if others want to join. Location was very good, right in the middle of the historic part of town and a short walk (＜5 min) to Nara park to see the deer. Hotel was very nice and clean. I was here in late December and the air conditioning heater in the room was very good too."

"This hotel is conveniently located near JR Nara Station, with a bus stop right in front, making it easy to access Nara Park and Kasuga Taisha Shrine by bus or on foot. The hotel itself is clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. The staff were very courteous and even saw us off when we checked out!"
