"Despite being advertised as a hotel where Napoleon stayed, I personally don't really like hotels built in old buildings, as the furniture and bathroom facilities were rather dated. The breakfast, in particular, was quite mediocre, with very few options, and the staff's English was also limited, making for a less than pleasant experience. The hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of the old town, making it conveniently situated near historical sites and landmarks."

"We spent an absolutely lovely 3 days here. It gets our highest ranking for many reasons. First the rooms are spacious, clean, well equipped and modern. There is a Nespresso Vertuo coffee maker and daily pods, good sized refrigerator that is available for use, the king sized beds are very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. The air conditioning is excellent and provides a cool atmosphere after long hot walks. The WiFi is excellent and fast. The pool area is very well maintained and provides an additional oasis away from the busy Avignon streets. The crowds seem far away even though the Maison is perfectly situated inside the wall only a few short minutes walk from the Palais de Papes. Everything is easily accessable from here but once back the Maison provides a much needed, friendly respite from all the crazy energy that is Avignon. Best of all are the proprietors - the nicest, loveliest, kindest couple you would ever want to meet. They do everything themselves from cooking delicious breakfasts served poolside (do not miss these) to all the cleaning. They are busy taking good care of the Maison and it’s guests but always have a smile and a kindness to share. They are the heart and soul of this guesthouse. Every once in a while travels make you realize there is a lot of good in this crazy world. Maison Grivolas is one of the places that provides this important reminder."

"The front desk service was excellent. We ran out of hand sanitizer, and they immediately brought us a new one. The hotel only had one bottle of multi-purpose hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo, all from the same bottle. There was a small desk and a small kitchen table, and the bathroom was quite spacious. It's a 10-minute walk from the train station, and the Imperial Palace Hotel is also 10 minutes away. It's very convenient, with a great location and free luggage storage."
