The easiest way to buy a metro ticket is from the ticket machines at all stations. Simply select your destination on the screen, choose your ticket, and pay in cash or by card. The machines have an English-language option for convenience.
You can also purchase tickets from the ticket counters available at each station. The staff can help you choose the correct ticket, especially if you're unfamiliar with the metro lines.
If you prefer mobile payment, WeChat Pay or Alipay can be used at some stations. Just scan the QR code at the gate to enter.

Before entering the station, you’ll need to go through a security check. Bags and personal items will be scanned, and you’ll walk through a metal detector. Make sure you don’t carry prohibited goods.
After clearing security, head to the ticket gates. If you're using a paper ticket, just tap it at the gate to enter. You can also use WeChat Pay or Alipay for a smooth entry, scanning the QR code at the gate.
Follow the signs to your designated line and platform. The metro system is clearly marked in both Chinese and Englishe. Check the digital screens for the train’s next destination to confirm you're heading in the right direction.
Wait for passengers to exit before boarding. When the train arrives, make sure you're in the right spot for the doors to open.
Once you reach your destination, follow the signs to the exit gates. The gate will collect the ticket or card, so make sure you have it ready for the exit, or scan the QR code if you used mobile payment.
For travellers heading to or from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) or the newer Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU), the metro offers a convenient and cost-effective option.
