India is a top global travel destination, known for its rich culture, history, spirituality, and growing business opportunities.
From iconic landmarks like the Taj Mahal to vibrant cities and peaceful natural landscapes, the country offers a wide range of experiences for all types of travelers.
Before traveling, it’s important to understand the India visa process. India now offers a simplified system, with most visitors able to apply for an e-Visa online, making entry easier and more convenient than ever.
For Singaporean travelers, a visa is required before entering India. Most choose the India e-Visa, which allows for a quick and straightforward online application process prior to travel.

India offers different visas depending on the purpose of your visit:
Visa Type | Purpose | Validity |
|---|---|---|
India Tourist Visa | For sightseeing, holidays, and visiting family/friends | 30 days to 1 year (single or multiple entry) |
India Business Visa | For business meetings, trade, or investments | 6 months to 1 year (multiple entry) |
India Student Visa | For higher studies at Indian institutions | Up to 5 years |
India Employment Visa | For skilled professionals working in India | 1 year (extendable) |
India Medical Visa | For medical treatment in recognized hospitals | Up to 6 months |
India e-Visa | Online application for tourism, business, or medical visits | 30 days, 1 year, or 5 years |

India has visa-free arrangements with only a few neighboring countries, such as Nepal and Bhutan.
For Singaporeans and most international travelers, a visa is required. This makes the India e-Visa the most common option for short-term visits.
When submitting your India visa application, you’ll typically need:

📌 Requirement | 📝 Details |
