Pet Friendly Hotels in Chongqing

A cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings. Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends. The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on. There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn. A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day. The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish. The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there. My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

Staying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks. Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares. The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food. This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

We stayed at Mi Tang for two nights with our child while visiting Chongqing, and the overall experience was very comfortable. It's an old villa that's been renovated, with simple yet stylish decor that isn't gaudy or over-the-top. The courtyard also has a small pool, which our child looked forward to playing in every day – perfect for escaping the city's stuffy heat. The breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, with both Chinese and Western options that satisfied our little one. Shibatidi is just a few steps away, and Jiefangbei is a short walk, making it very convenient for traveling with kids. The room was quiet and clean, offering a peaceful retreat in the midst of a bustling area. It's an ideal spot for family trips.

The room was very spacious and clean, and they provided disposable bath towels and toilet seat covers. The owner was incredibly nice and upgraded our room for free since it was the off-season. It's super convenient here, close to both bus and subway stations. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!

From check-in to check-out, the entire process was fantastic. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and even thoughtfully asked if I needed ice water when I left the hotel. The hotel provides so many little amenities, they even had contact lens solution and a case! 🥹 Truly a lifesaver! I'm in a rush so I won't go into more detail now... but in short, it was excellent. I'll definitely be staying here again next time, hehe.

The guesthouse's location is great, but the management leaves a lot to be desired. First, during check-in, they gave us the wrong room key. When we opened the door, it wasn't even the room type we booked. The staff had meticulously checked each of our family of four's IDs against photos in their system during check-in, yet they still managed to make such a basic mistake – it was incredibly frustrating. Secondly, the elevators in this building are an absolute nightmare. With three passenger elevators and one service elevator for a 39-story building, waiting for an elevator is agonizingly slow at any time. They're always packed with people and luggage. During peak hours, waiting half an hour for an elevator is a common occurrence. Furthermore, the room's cleanliness was appalling, indicating very poor management. The floor was peeling, the walls were moldy, and the shower in the bathroom was less than a meter away from a squat toilet. The guesthouse didn't show any photos of the bathroom, nor did they mention its condition on the booking page. Had I known it was a squat toilet, I wouldn't have booked it at all. My child has never used a squat toilet and was too scared to use it. They were also worried about accidentally stepping in it while showering. In short, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. Upon check-out, I sincerely hope the guesthouse management team improves their oversight and professionalism in every detail.

I visited Chongqing for the May Day holiday. To my surprise, the prices hadn't increased, which might be because I booked so far in advance. They upgraded my room, and it was really spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows. The cleanliness was excellent; I even used a lint roller, and there was hardly any dust. The only downside is that the location is a bit out of the way, but there are some street food stalls nearby for late-night snacks, which was a nice bonus.

The property could benefit from some updates and maintenance. One of the queen bedrooms was converted from a balcony, making it extremely cold during winter. Additionally, the heater in one of the rooms next to the hall was not working, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep through the night. The bathroom in one of the rooms remained choked throughout our stay, and overall, the bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen also lacked proper cleanliness, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the view from the hall was decent, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the shortcomings in comfort and cleanliness.

The best hotel we’ve experienced in China. We are budget travelers by all means but this was just insane for the price. Maybe because we visited in early December, but we were immediately upgraded from a single queen bed room to a double queen bed with river view room. The cleanliness was top notch and the amenities were nice too. Thank you very much

The room with the shared bathroom - the room itself was ok, but the shared toilet was absolutely filthy. I added another 20 yuan to change to a room with private bathroom. That room was acceptable
