"Let’s start with the absolute best part of the stay: stepping out of the back of the hotel. The mature gardens stretch right down to the water’s edge, complete with the hotel's own private jetty. Sitting out on the terrace with a coffee in the morning, watching the mist rise off Windermere and the boats drift past, is worth a massive chunk of the room rate alone. Because it’s located right in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, the convenience is unbeatable. You can park up (fair warning: parking is a hefty £25 per day) and completely forget about your car. The Bowness boat piers are a two-minute stroll away, and you are surrounded by local pubs and restaurants."

"I have been to the Lake District several times. This hotel is the best. It simply exceeds expectations. You will know this hotel when you arrive in the Lake District. It is at the highest point of the Lake District and you can see the scenery. The view from the lake view room is like a picture. The room is very clean and tidy. The most important thing is The carpets are all made of wool and feel comfortable on the feet. Unlike some other hotels where the carpets look dark and dirty. I also like the tiles in the bathroom here🥹The breakfast here is very good compared to good hotels in London. It is also authentic. You must have breakfast at his hotel. The dinner is very rich. We also ate at the hotel one day and we were very surprised. The filet mignon was well cooked. The public space of the hotel is really big and warm compared to other hotels. It also has its own When I left the swimming pool and large garden, I told the aunt at the front desk that I would come back. If you choose it, you will not regret it. "The room didn't have air conditioning! There was a slight odor in the bathroom. Breakfast was decent, but I wouldn't recommend staying here without a car. The hotel is located up a very steep hill, although the overall location is still quite convenient."

"This BnB was perfect from start to finish. The location was brilliant a couple minute walk into Windermere and a 25min walk into bowness so we had the best of both worlds. The room was clean & had all the amenities that we needed. The continental breakfast was perfect too, nothing was too much for the hostess. Toast & pastries and a variety of cereals and yoghurt. Tea, coffee & fresh juice was available too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to the lakes. I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for our stay!"

"What a beautiful gem of a place Paula and Richard have here . From the moment we walked through the door we were met by Paula who gave us a lovely welcome . We had a beautiful 4 poster room with a lovely bathroom with bath and shower . Everything was immaculately clean and the bed was so comfortable ! Breakfast was delicious and a lovely choice to choose from and Paula as a host really sells the place . It’s only a 10 minute walk into Windemere and Bowness ( we preferred Bowness ) and so much choice of cafes , restaurants and bars. We visited Grasmere ( find the gingerbread shop ) , Ambleside and Windemere . Then on our second day took a very wet and windy walk to Lake Buttermere which was stunning . We had a delicious Indian in Bowness and ate in numerous coffee shops and tea rooms ! Absolutely value for money ! Thank you Amanda &Jonny"

"Over the years we have become well travelled in the delights Afternoon Tea and enjoyed it in many of the finest places. However nothing could have prepared us for the experience at Cedar Manor which we believe is arguably the best we have ever sampled. From the service to the food to the ambience and location, it was truly perfect! We were warmly greeted and shown to our table by host Mark. Then it all began! We enjoyed the most marvellous selection of food imaginable! Starting with a delicious Amuse Bouche. Followed by a quirky Dolls House miniature fish and chips with mushy peas! Then onto a splendid aray of tasty well thought out sandwiches. Finally, an absolutely delicious selection of freshly baked scones with home made jam and clotted cream,aswell as a magnificent stack of beautiful little cakes and pastries, plus strawberries and cream desert. I could go on and on as it was truly wonderful. Not cheap at £35pp but such great value. In finishing if like us you find Afternoon Tea special please do not pass by the opportunity to try Cedar Manor. I can assure you that you will leave having enjoyed every morsel and feeling very content with the whole experience. Needless to say we plan on definitely returning as soon as we are next in this beautiful area of the English countryside. One word....Outstanding!"
