Furthermore, the hotel's furnishings are exceptionally aesthetic and well-maintained. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. I stayed a wonderful couple of days at Colombo Court. The hotel is lovely and the room spacious and very comfortable. The staff are really friendly, helpful and there is always someone around if you need anything. I had a wonderful massage at the spa as well, which really added to the luxury experience. I would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel is close to the sea, but buildings block the view, so you can't really see it. It's very close to the mini-train along the coast, and there are supermarkets and malls nearby, which is quite convenient. I arrived two hours early, and they allowed me to check in ahead of time. While I waited, they even offered me a glass of juice. Surprisingly, they didn't charge me the extra $3+ that I was supposed to pay on-site (I reminded the staff, but after checking, they told me it wasn't necessary). I booked a two-meal package, both buffets. The dinner selection seemed less extensive than breakfast, perhaps because fewer people booked it. A bit of a mix-up happened because I wasn't told the dining times, so I went for dinner before 7 PM. The restaurant was completely empty. Later, I saw on a screen that dinner apparently starts at 7 PM, but the staff member just let me in without explanation – which honestly gave me a very good feeling about their service. The room was spacious, and the type I booked surprisingly had two beds pushed together to form a super-king size. The soundproofing with the next room was pretty good; the people next door were playing music from check-in until after 10 PM, but I could only hear a faint sound once the street quieted down. That's acceptable. Sometimes the street noise was quite noticeable, but my tolerance for ambient street noise is higher than my tolerance for noise from neighboring rooms. The pool is on the top floor, and so is the restaurant. As an introvert, I'm not a big fan of this design. Overall, the stay was quite comfortable and offered excellent value for money.

The rooms were modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, with beautiful decor that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The amenities, especially the spa and pool area, were top-notch, providing the perfect place to unwind. The hotel’s location was ideal, offering easy access to nearby attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. I also have to mention the dining experience—delicious food with a great variety of local and international options. Every meal was a treat! Overall, Anarva Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a great, affordable room! It was immaculately cleaned, and everything I needed felt easy and well cared for. I also loved how affordable the laundry was, and the bar/food options were a nice bonus. But honestly, the standout was the service. The moment I walked in, I felt like I had my own personal entourage of Sri Lankan gentlemen. 😊 The doormen were always there to help—with my navigation questions, and with getting a metered tuk-tuk. They did it with the friendliest smiles and such gentleness, it reminded me of my beloved uncles back in Canada. Plus, the rooftop pool is fantastic—such a great place to relax and unwind. And a big shout-out to the gym: it’s immaculate and very female friendly, with 5 lb weights and three different cardio machines—exactly what I look for. The gym/pool staff were first class too, especially the lovely pool staff member in the picture. It was so awesome to see a “sister” know her way around a gym 💪✊🌹 Highly recommend—great value, great people, and a welcoming stay from start to finish!

This hotel is in a great location. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The room is large and the bed seemed clean. That is where the positives end, unfortunately. Upon arrival, very late at night, after a long trip. There were no towels in the room. Too exhausted to rectify, we just went to sleep without a shower. The hotel has an off smell about it, a bit like wet carpet. The cleanliness is questionable. Some mould. It seems it is not thoroughly cleaned. Frequently. Our room was not attended to, so we didn't receive fresh water. If you need to get work done while at the hotel don't book here. The WiFi is intermittent and would only work on my phone, not laptop. Therefore it's not suitable for any online workers. The toiletries were less than those advertised. Body lotion, shampoo and body wash are all that are provided. There is an ironing board...but no iron. Why? The hairdryer is one of those models you must continually hold down the button for it to work. It would work for only around 5 minutes and then would shut off and then had to wait 5 minutes for it to cool down to use again

The grand oriental hotel did not live up to its name. Sure, this would have been grand in the 18 or 1900’s, but its glory days are way past that - this hotel badly needs a major renovation and updated interior design. There are many things and items in this hotel that must never be reused again - they must be thrown away, never to see daylight again! Examples of such are: the ultra worn out sofa that have seen better bums, the discoloured sheets, the wooden furnishings chipping off. Jose rizal might have stayed here fashionably in the past, but the current interiors indeed look like they stayed the same from the 1800s. Alas, there is also an insect problem or infestation that the management needs to take care of. Cleanliness was an issue. To give credit to the staff, they were professional, warm, and friendly - embodying true Sri Lankan hospitality.

A few if us wanted to get along with friends and have a good time and we choose this location and it did not disappoint us.
