Anonymous UserPros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Villa was very well kept, with excellent views of the ocean. Pleasantly surprised by complimentary puddings and drinks. Manual grinder and coffee beans were a nice touch.
Cons: Unable to drive directly to the villa due to safety policy. This made loading/unloading luggage very inconvenient. The walk to the carpark required negotiating a slippery gravel slope, which was even more dangerous in low-light conditions. Recommend to improve this with proper stairs or paved pathway.

Belle_21The room is so big, nice and cozy. The owner is very kind and helpful. We haven’t stayed in Japanese Tatami Style before but this is so good. The location is quite far from the city center but if you have a car i would highly recommend you to book this room. But if you don’t have car you can travel by bus, the owner will send you how to come to the hotel in the chat and you can also ask everything him in chat as he response very fast.

It’s around 13 minutes walk from JR Otaru Station, if you have luggage, just get a taxi to go there, only take around 5 minutes. This hotel is just too cute, a vintage vibe, lovely welcome drinks in classical lobby. My room is for single person, small but it’s fine. Japanese breakfast is amazing. You can have a canal view while you’re having breakfast. They provide free onsen or paid private onsen (2500 yen for 50 minutes). It’s a good stay.

I had an amazing time at this hotel. You will need to take 15 minutes taxi ride to reach here from Otaru station. It's right by the beach. Room is super spacious and comforting. There's kitchen and dining area. It was snowing so the balcony is filled with snow but the view is just so amazing. The staffs are very helpful. You can check in early with a small fee. Breakfast was simple. Complete amenities.

Facilities: Ski gear doesn't include ski suits. The overall experience was just okay, probably because it was my first time skiing.
Environment: But it was really beautiful.
Service: There were a lot of rules, as pictured. I checked in late and couldn't shower in my room. The staff were accommodating and let me use a shower for ten minutes.
Hot Springs: The hot springs were fantastic with floor-to-ceiling windows offering snow views. There were also outdoor hot springs, and the sauna temperature was just right. I just didn't like seeing young boys brought into the area.

This guesthouse seems to be run by Chinese owners, which is nice. My room was right by the entrance. After checking in at the front desk, I couldn't find it until I turned around... it felt a bit like sleeping in a guardhouse. The soundproofing isn't great either. Because of its peculiar location, it gets very noisy in the mornings. And the room next door seems to be a staff office, which also generates a lot of noise. However, the room was warm and clean, perfect for a night's sleep, and the price was excellent. The only downside is that it didn't have a private bathroom. The common areas were clean and there was even coffee available, which was a pleasant touch.

I chose this guesthouse for its proximity to the train station and great value for the money, and I'm so glad I did! Even though it's a bit far from Sapporo city, the short 2-minute walk to the train station made getting around a breeze. The unit had everything I needed, including a washing machine and cooking essentials, which really made my stay comfortable. I definitely plan to book this guesthouse again for my next winter trip!

Advantages: The natural environment is good, the surrounding green waters and green mountains, the air is fresh, and the stars can be seen at night.
Disadvantages: far from the city, there is a large hotel around the hotel that can provide catering services. There is no hair dryer in the room, no pot for boiling water (the hair dryer is shared at the front desk, and there is a water dispenser for boiling water in the corridor). There is no table in the room, it is not convenient to put things. The room type provided is different from the description of Trip.com (no sofa).

Guest UserPro: Nice looking apartment, spacious for family of 4. Carpark lot was provided for the guest. Easy to check-in Walking distance to the otaru canal
Cons: There was urine stench inside the toilet. I had to clean the toilet seat and around it unfortunately the smell still remained.
Secondly, we can smell cigarette at the living room in the morning as we believed that there was a guest smoking g from upstairs or downstairs.

We had an amazing stay at +81OTARU Homestay! The property is exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained, and located right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all of Otaru’s attractions. It offers all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay, and everything was thoughtfully arranged. Considering the quality, location, and facilities, it is also very reasonably priced and offers excellent value for money. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Otaru!
