3-Star Hotels in Athens

Perfect in every way. We arrived late at night but the instructions to gain entrance worked well. Astikon Studios are conveniently close to Syntagma Square and across the road from The National Gardens. They are on the edge of Plaka and a short walk from the Acropolis and the Ermou shopping area. Monastraki and Lycabatus Hill are easily walkable too. They are perfectly situated for public transport to the airport by train/bus and seaside by tram. The studios were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The sofa bed was of good quality and the shower was amazing, it was both hot and powerful and did not flood. Thank you to the lovely Irini. She was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

I’m a solo traveller and I stayed here on my first trip to Athens. I wanted to be central to the attractions. The location was amazing! It is right on Monastiaki square where you can take the metro to and from the airport making it easy to get to! You can also use theirs to get around Athens! Low cost and easy to use! You can see the Acropolis right from the square! There are also lots of lovely restaurants and coffee shops around this area too! On arriving at the hotel the reception staff were very warm and welcoming. They helped me to arrange transportations and offered to prepare a takeaway breakfast bag for my early check out which was very kind! The room itself was quite large and clean with all of the amenities that you may need. The shower was hot which was good! The downside to the room is that it is very noisy from the outside due to it being on the square. It can get busy at nighttime, however I did expect this due to its location. I came prepared and brought earplugs to sleep in which did the trick! The breakfast is served in the rooftop bar. Plenty of choice and delicious pastries each day. Hot and cold options available which was nice! The views from here are amazing! You can sell all around you and have a view of the Acropolis as you enjoy your breakfast! Wow! Very good location, metro station is few minutes away and it is on Airport Blue line route. Shopping and Acropolis are around, central to everything. A rooftop bar with acropolis view and a lower ground storage are a bonus. Though the lift is too small can only accommodate 2 or three people, the breakfast is included.

First of all, the hotel staff are so nice incl. receptionists, breakfast lady, room attendants, etc. They all smile at you and greet you, very polite and helpful. We also booked 1 triple room for 3 adults but they gave us 2 double rooms with the same price of course although they had to move us to ground floor the 2nd day due to some electrical defaults in one of the rooms as it was newly renovated, which didnt bother us at all. We happily moved. Also free water bottles in the fridge included, all the necessary amenities were there, no kettle to boil water or cups for hot drinks were provided in the room but if you ask them, hot water provided at the hotel reception 24/7 also free tea, coffee and hot water for all guests provided from 3-9pm! Rooms were decent sized with comfy and clean beds, daily room service, breakfast was good and plenty and included in the room price, so cant complain! More hot food options would have been nice but it was continental which still was adequate. 5/5 stars

Olympus Residence is a comfortable and modern place to stay in Athens. The apartment is spacious, clean, and equipped for a short stay. Just starting to show some age but the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and having kitchen and laundry facilities was a definite plus. The location is in a pleasant, quiet neighbourhood. Most of Athens’ major attractions, including Syntagma Square and the Acropolis, are around 1.5–2 km away. This was a good walk for us, but travellers with limited mobility or those wanting to be right in the heart of the action may prefer somewhere closer. There were a few areas that could be improved. Communication before arrival was disappointing. I contacted the property several times to ask about the possibility of an early check-in, but several messages went unanswered, including a call to the listed emergency number. I eventually received a response only after sending a text message to that number. Better communication would make the arrival experience much smoother. The kitchen was functional, but the utensils and cooking equipment were very basic. Anyone planning to prepare more than simple meals may find the kitchen somewhat limited. Overall, despite the communication issues and the basic kitchen setup, the apartment was clean, comfortable, and offered good value. With a few improvements, particularly in guest communication, it would be an excellent place to stay.

First of all shout out to the cleaning ladies they did a great job cleaning my room everyday and I know their work is pretty hard. Second the people at the reception are lovely and kind, very helpful when asking questions and very nice to talk to. The room was even bigger than the pictures I loved it and felt so comfortable. Also nice that they have Netflix!!! Pame wild will be my go to hotel when I visit Athens again!!

The hotel was decent overall, but the area didn’t feel very safe. It’s close to the subway, just a few minutes’ walk.which is convenient, but the neighbourhood gave off a sketchy vibe. Not a huge issue, but definitely something to be aware of.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Our room had a balcony and was nice and clean. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the main attractions. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the blinds didn't completely block out the sun.

The hotel is quite far from the center, so you’ll need to rely on public transportation regularly. There’s a bus station on the street that takes you to the nearest metro stop and into the city, but buses only run every 20–30 minutes. As for the room itself – when I booked the basic room, there were 36 photos that made me think the room would be larger. Maybe that was my mistake (or maybe intentional marketing?), but either way it felt misleading. The room was very clean, but the bathroom soap was the bright pink mall-style kind, and in the shower there was a bottle of clear liquid that honestly looked like bleach. I really hope that wasn’t meant to be shower gel. The room had no window, only a large door to the balcony, which makes it tricky if you want fresh air at night. The AC froze the small space (and I normally love sleeping with AC), but there was no blanket, only a very thin sheet. So the choice was either freezing or no air. There was no desk or chair in the room – if you want to sit, the only option is the bed. There was a washing machine, but no detergent tabs provided. I actually bought a box of 40 at the supermarket and left them there, but I have a feeling they didn’t stay for the next guest. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.

The exterior of the hotel look inviting; however when we walked through the front door you can feel the heavy curtain around the lobby have not been clean for long time. All the sofa in the lobby are covered with some sort of clothes I guess it is to cover the old and uninviting sight. The check in process was straight forward and friendly. None of the light on the stairs are working and I had to use the flash light on my phone to light a path up and down the stairs, could be dangerous if you need to evacuate the hotel quickly. The room door has key card slot but I guess it is broken as I needed a physical key to unlock the room door and a keycard to turn on the electricity, the room size is good and high ceiling. The bathroom has no hook for the handheld shower head so not so convenient to have a shower, the water also not always hot enough. The air conditioner was blowing warm air even though the dial was set to cold and it made the room so more warmer and uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel reviews seem to suggest this is one of the common issue people has been complaining about for more than 10 years!!!! I ended up open all the windows to cool the room down and this invited traffic noise all night long. The hotel has been neglected for way too many years and surprisingly still in business????
