3-Star Hotels in Athens

I’m a solo traveller and I stayed here on my first trip to Athens. I wanted to be central to the attractions. The location was amazing! It is right on Monastiaki square where you can take the metro to and from the airport making it easy to get to! You can also use theirs to get around Athens! Low cost and easy to use! You can see the Acropolis right from the square! There are also lots of lovely restaurants and coffee shops around this area too! On arriving at the hotel the reception staff were very warm and welcoming. They helped me to arrange transportations and offered to prepare a takeaway breakfast bag for my early check out which was very kind! The room itself was quite large and clean with all of the amenities that you may need. The shower was hot which was good! The downside to the room is that it is very noisy from the outside due to it being on the square. It can get busy at nighttime, however I did expect this due to its location. I came prepared and brought earplugs to sleep in which did the trick! The breakfast is served in the rooftop bar. Plenty of choice and delicious pastries each day. Hot and cold options available which was nice! The views from here are amazing! You can sell all around you and have a view of the Acropolis as you enjoy your breakfast! Wow! Great hotel for the price I paid. It was clean and had everything I needed. Good views of the Acropolis. It is located a short walk from Monastiraki Station. Room was spacious, clean and quiet despite being in a busy location. Breakfast was sufficient and tasty. I would stay here again!

Exceptional hospitality in the heart of Athens I had a fantastic stay at Philippos Hotel! The location is unbeatable—literally steps away from the Acropolis Museum and the metro station. For anyone interested in tours, there is an 'Athenian Tours' office right across the street, which is very convenient and enjoy the Acropolis view from the rooftop. The Standout Service: The staff truly made my trip special. The male receptionist who welcomed me was incredibly nice and accommodating. Not only did he help me carry my heavy luggage upstairs, but he also spent time explaining the room, the Acropolis area, and suggesting great places to visit. On a day when I arrived and it was raining, he even thoughtfully offered me an umbrella. Another nice touch was the complimentary coffee served from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Even when the hotel was busy, everything felt very organized and clean. The Room & Breakfast: My room smelled wonderful, and the queen-sized bed was very comfortable. The washroom was clean and equipped with a hairdryer and toiletries. Breakfast was another highlight—it was very full and packed with a great assortment of breads, salads, sweets, juices, and coffee. Things to Consider: Stairs: The staircase is not very suitable for people with large luggage or mobility issues. While I was helped at check-in, the receptionist wasn't available when I was leaving, so I had to carry my heavy bags down the stairs by myself. Amenities: Note that while they provide basic toiletries, there were no toothbrushes or slippers, so you should pack your own. Smoking: For those who smoke, it is permitted outside the hotel and on the rooftop. Overall, a solid 4-star experience thanks to the wonderful staff and perfect location!”

Olympus Residence is a comfortable and modern place to stay in Athens. The apartment is spacious, clean, and equipped for a short stay. Just starting to show some age but the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and having kitchen and laundry facilities was a definite plus. The location is in a pleasant, quiet neighbourhood. Most of Athens’ major attractions, including Syntagma Square and the Acropolis, are around 1.5–2 km away. This was a good walk for us, but travellers with limited mobility or those wanting to be right in the heart of the action may prefer somewhere closer. There were a few areas that could be improved. Communication before arrival was disappointing. I contacted the property several times to ask about the possibility of an early check-in, but several messages went unanswered, including a call to the listed emergency number. I eventually received a response only after sending a text message to that number. Better communication would make the arrival experience much smoother. The kitchen was functional, but the utensils and cooking equipment were very basic. Anyone planning to prepare more than simple meals may find the kitchen somewhat limited. Overall, despite the communication issues and the basic kitchen setup, the apartment was clean, comfortable, and offered good value. With a few improvements, particularly in guest communication, it would be an excellent place to stay.

I was so excited to learn the Attalos hotel is very central to everything! The front desk was very attentive and gave me lots of information about this fabulous area in Athens. I got some delicious breakfast up the block. I perchased a warm jacket for 10eu. In a second hand store. Goodwill Greco style! Im always cold. Even in 70 ‘ temp. Florida aclimated lol I’m here alone meeting friends. I feel very safe and would recommend it to anyone who is solo! Kali Taxidi! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

We loved this hotel! We booked it based on good price, nice photos/reviews and close proximity to vegan restaurants. My only slight concern was that some reviews described the location as a little seedy/dangerous. We did not find this to be the case at all. We loved the location, away from the tourist 'centre', but still easily accessible by metro in about 10 minutes. In fact, from this area it seemed really easy to travel to many different parts of Athens, and the metro station itself was a 10-minute walk away. There is a large, lovely park 5 minutes across the road, where lots of people & families were hanging out during the long, summer evenings. Yes, there are some run-down buildings and graffiti in the area, but that seems to be all over Athens, and it did not feel aggressive or threatening. The hotel itself was lovely. The photos are very accurate. Our room was soooo comfortable, a great size, with good storage (wardrobe), comfy bed/pillows, a nice shower and a small fridge, kettle and coffee pod machine. Down in the basement is a communal space with a pool table, small kitchen for preparing food, and space to chill out or watch movies. You can also get fresh, drinkable water here, There is a small terrace on the top floor, with a bit of a view and some friendly pigeons. The staff at reception were so lovely - friendly & helpful, great English speakers too. The only thing I would mention is that our room was at the front of the building, on the 1st floor, and you could easily the hear the traffic on the main road (which is around the corner - the hotel itself is on a side street). We were also treated to some early-morning trumpet practice from someone in an apartment opposite (and he definitely needs the practice!) So if you are sensitive to noise or a light sleeper, you should ask for a room at the back. But, that aside, it was a great hotel which I highly recommend, and would definitely stay here again.

This hotel offers great value for money, and the rooftop breakfast is definitely worth the price. I highly recommend dinner; it includes an appetizer salad, specialty dim sum, a main course (chicken leg with rice or beef with potatoes), dessert, and even beer. The staff serving the food were also very friendly and attentive. Here's a tip: Don't get off at Concorde Square Metro Station to go to the hotel, especially at night or early morning, as the alleyways are dirty, smelly, and have many homeless people using *****. It's much better to get off at the next station, Metaxourgeio, to reach the hotel.

The hotel was lovely, the staff were friendly and welcoming and I enjoyed the breakfast each day. The only fault is that it is in a very bad location, I was a female solo traveller and I felt really really unsafe outside. I had to plan my days so I could return early before it got dark. I was catcalled multiple times, there was used needles on the floor and at one point some guy was knocked out right outside the hotel. There was graffiti, trash and homeless people everywhere and it really ruined my first experience in Greece, it’s a shame though because the hotel itself and the staff were so lovely and it’s not their fault at all. Make sure you read the reviews properly before booking and do your research.

The exterior of the hotel look inviting; however when we walked through the front door you can feel the heavy curtain around the lobby have not been clean for long time. All the sofa in the lobby are covered with some sort of clothes I guess it is to cover the old and uninviting sight. The check in process was straight forward and friendly. None of the light on the stairs are working and I had to use the flash light on my phone to light a path up and down the stairs, could be dangerous if you need to evacuate the hotel quickly. The room door has key card slot but I guess it is broken as I needed a physical key to unlock the room door and a keycard to turn on the electricity, the room size is good and high ceiling. The bathroom has no hook for the handheld shower head so not so convenient to have a shower, the water also not always hot enough. The air conditioner was blowing warm air even though the dial was set to cold and it made the room so more warmer and uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel reviews seem to suggest this is one of the common issue people has been complaining about for more than 10 years!!!! I ended up open all the windows to cool the room down and this invited traffic noise all night long. The hotel has been neglected for way too many years and surprisingly still in business????
