An excellent stay on Shengshan Island. Before we even arrived, the owner already contacted us on WeChat with information about our stay and gave us very comprehensive tips for our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located, next to the boat port, the main entry onto Shengshan, and it is just across it. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived off the boat and helped us get our luggage. They have a very convenient luggage lift which means that you don't have to lug anything up the stairs. The hotel feels clean, luxurious, comfy and homely at the same time. It is a family run hotel and the reception is very warm. Our room was very clean and everything that was needed was provided. The view was spectacular from our room (image provided). The bed was very comfy and the lounger was perfect for watching the sea within the comfort of your room. The pool downstairs is great to cool off after a day out exploring. The breakfast provided was very nice and simple, some youtiao (Chinese fried dough, similar to churros), soy milk and sweet and savoury buns. All in all an excellent experience, and we thank the hosts for everything.

Shengshan is definitely not an easy place to get to, but staying at Woqu honestly made it so worth it! It’s very guesthouse style, so hosts have a full menu that they can cook for you if you don’t want to go into town for the restaurants. They were all so warm and welcoming, even though my Chinese isn’t very good. Even though they had a larger group of 21 staying at the same time as me, they still checked in on me to make sure that I was comfortable and that I could still have my privacy. They also offered me the number of a driver who was very readily available to take me wherever I wanted. The room was beautiful, with a wonderful view of the ocean. It would be really romantic for a couples’ getaway. I hope that more people come to Shengshan and Gouqi, even for just a day, just so they can experience some of the island-style warmth and hospitality that Woqu had to offer. The dreamed seaside courtyard, sitting on the rocking chair in the yard with the sea breeze, is the distant mountains and the sea, the sound of the waves in my ears, the whole person is relaxed. The host family was very warm and thoughtful. I arrived late that night. I waited until we packed up and settled down before resting. I had breakfast again in the morning. Everything was responsive. I booked a table of seafood. I really can’t wait to do it for us all. The four-person square table was set on two floors... It was also hard work. The boss who didn't finish it helped to put the refrigerator in the freezer and had another meal the next day. The shrimp meat is solid and sweet; the shuttle crab is fat and delicious; the fresh squid and yellow croaker are really open to the eye; There are mussels, clams, pippi shrimp, clam white... I can't remember it. Although I can't see the sunrise, I can't say the feeling of seeing the moon. Before I went, I was depressed for a long time, and my life and work were already crushing me. Full score recommended this Gouqi Island Seaview B&B, the most pleasant surprise of this island trip is the accommodation! The traffic boss is super caring, send the boat guide in advance, take the initiative to pick up and drop off at the pier after going to the island, there is no need to drag the luggage to find the way. The location of the homestay is excellent. It takes a few minutes to walk to Dawang Beach. It is especially convenient to take a walk in the evening to see the sunset of the sea pasture. It is also close to the bus station. It is easy to go to the cliffs of Dongya and the wonders of the mountains and seas. We booked a panoramic sea view room with large floor-to-ceiling windows facing the sea. You can watch the sunrise and sunrise while lying on the bed. The sea fishing boats and blue fishing rows have a panoramic view. The original camera does not need filters to take pictures. The room was cleaned spotlessly, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, the bathroom was separated from wet and dry, the water pressure was sufficient, the toiletries were complete, the whole house was clean and odorless, and the details were in place. The key point is to praise the boss for his enthusiasm and sincerity. There is no commercial routine to order directly at the hotel. The fish and shrimp caught on the day are fat and fresh, and the price is much higher than that of the outside restaurants. The whole homestay is fresh island wind, and there is a swimming pool on the first floor. In the evening, the sea breeze is blowing to watch the sunset of the orange sea. This is the best guesthouse I've ever stayed in. They provide breakfast, including a bowl of plain noodles and some side dishes. Upon check-in, you receive disposable toiletries. The room is almost identical to the pictures – very clean and tidy. The kettle and hairdryer aren't cheap brands, and the shower gel and conditioner smell lovely. The guesthouse owns several villas; check-in and breakfast are in a separate building. Parking within the complex isn't too tight. They offer a complimentary pick-up or drop-off service to/from Putuoshan Airport/Wugongzhi Pier once on check-in day and once on check-out day. The business van has a blue wrap. The only surprise was that our driver was a lovely, gentle woman wearing a straw hat.

The room itself was very beautiful, with a big window facing the sea, the view was definitely the highlight of our stay. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll enjoy it. However, there were some downsides. The swimming pool shown in the pictures is not suitable for swimming, it’s very small and mainly for small kids, which was disappointing. The breakfast was also very basic; there were no choices, just a fixed plate! Communication was a bit difficult as the host didn’t speak English, and the check-in process was uncomfortable — she took many pictures of our passports and even asked us to help fill in the details. Overall, the view and the room are great, but don’t expect much from the facilities or breakfast.

The accommodation was very comfortable and close to the beach. I would definitely choose this place again if I come back. Getting around is also very convenient; they have cars and electric bikes for rent. There's a food street nearby. The young man in the white shirt at the front desk was super nice and attentive.

It is located in Shengshan Island Fishing Port, about 10 minutes walk from the passenger terminal. The windows of the sea view room have only single-layer sound insulation. If there are fishing boats coming back from fishing at night, it will be a little noisy, but it is really interesting to watch.

The hotel service is good, honestly! We booked a room without windows, but the front desk upgraded us to a room with windows for free because we had children! Because we didn't check the weather forecast before the trip and it was going to rain the next day, we got up early to go to Fayu Temple for worship. When we came back, our clothes were all soaked. We had to go back to the hotel to take a hot shower, and then send the clothes to the laundry to be washed and dried. I don't know if the washing machine was too dirty or the quilt was not clean! After the pants were dried, I put them on and felt like something bitten my legs...
