However, there were some downsides. The swimming pool shown in the pictures is not suitable for swimming, itās very small and mainly for small kids, which was disappointing. The breakfast was also very basic; there were no choices, just a fixed plate! Communication was a bit difficult as the host didnāt speak English, and the check-in process was uncomfortable ā she took many pictures of our passports and even asked us to help fill in the details.
Overall, the view and the room are great, but donāt expect much from the facilities or breakfast.

LLansedaocaoWe brought our kids to Gouqi Island for the weekend and stayed at this guesthouse ā it was fantastic! The location is super convenient, right by the sea with several free beaches downstairs, perfect for kids. You can enjoy sea views and a sea breeze right from your room. The room was clean and tidy, very comfortable to stay in, and the soundproofing facing the sea was excellent. The owner was incredibly warm and thoughtful. Before we even arrived, they recommended sightseeing routes and helped us arrange a driver. When we got to the guesthouse, they even helped us with our luggage. We could ask them anything we needed, and the whole trip was completely hassle-free.

GGuest UserThe hotel's environment was fantastic: our balcony offered expansive sea views, and the garden was absolutely stunning. A small gate through the garden led straight to the beach. Since it was off-season, it wasn't crowded at all, which made for a very pleasant experience.
The service was excellent; the front desk, bellhops, and cleaning staff were all incredibly friendly.
The facilities were a bit dated, but for the price, the value for money was exceptional.
I'll definitely be back!

SshhzhaoyuIt is located in Shengshan Island Fishing Port, about 10 minutes walk from the passenger terminal. The windows of the sea view room have only single-layer sound insulation. If there are fishing boats coming back from fishing at night, it will be a little noisy, but it is really interesting to watch.

GGuest UserService was good, from the helpful shuttle bus drivers to the prompt service of the technician-we had difficulty turning on the TV initially. However, we were confused about the shuttle bus stops stated by the hotel as there are designated hotel shuttle bus stops which are different from the different temples stops where only the public buses can go.
The breakfast spread was not big but adequate. The hotel room was comfortable although not big. I like the Zen design. The windows were open when we entered the hotel room, hence there were two flies in the room. We turned on the electric mosquito repellent. Luckily, they did not disturb us. The attendants should not open the windows when doing room cleaning lest insects go into the room. The island has many trees so there are insects-mosquitoes, flies etc around.
The room walls are thin though. I could hear the neighbouring rooms talking along the corridor and the room attendant coming by to their rescue saying he is the room attendant.
The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the sea, good for an evening walk.
Overall, the quality is good and the hotel room was comfortable. Definitely a hotel I could return to.
