KKelchengHighly highly recommend to stay in 上善若水 民宿 if you visit 宏村。
The place is conveniently located near 月昭, which is one of the most pretty sight in 宏村。 Hotel is beautiful , spacious and very clean , with a big yard where you can sip tea and enjoy the serene vibe of the place. There are 9 rooms ,all nicely designed by interior designer.
Service by the owners, husband and wife pair is impeccable. You feel welcome immediately with attention to your every need! Feels like you are staying with friends who provide you with comfort in a foreign place. Home cooked breakfast every morning and great quality sleep every night!

It's in a beautiful old building, very well preserved and refurbished, and in a great location: in the Xidi old town, but a little bit more isolated, in the more quiet and less touristy area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very stylish, it even had a tiny annexed studio room with desk and interesting books with a good kettle and tea set available. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a very nice bathtub and heated toilet. Our host was super nice and helpful, he came to pick us up and dropped us at the bus station at the end of our stay. He's really friendly and gave us some nice tips on visiting the surrounding villages. He has a very cute dog and a cuddly cat :)
Only negative comment: the room's window is on the side of the main road, so you can hear all the cars passing by. But even then, a great stay!

OOzoubeiThe room looks exactly like the pictures and is located on the second floor. During the day, you can hear people outside from one side, but it's very quiet at night. Overall, everything was great, and the service was excellent, with a shuttle provided. There are three beautiful cats in the courtyard. We had breakfast in the courtyard the next day, and the food was delicious. I checked out both the front and back entrances, and it's conveniently located close to everything.

懒懒惰走路的人Minsu owner was very nice to pick our luggages up from the bus station and led us to the minsu, super love his introduction of the culture and history of hongcun, also recommended us to take up the free tour provided by hongcun which was absolutely informative. Had a great day exploring the village and peaceful stay in his minsu, with floor heating! 1 min walk to yue zhao too, must do if for a night view! Hongcun is not big and this minsu is at the centre, very easy to walk everywhere.

GGuest UserThe service was very friendly, with a friendly lady helping to take our luggage to and from the parking lot. The lake-view room we booked had a view of the Moon Pond, and from the third-floor terrace, we could see the rooftops of Hongcun Village and the Moon Pond. It was very close to the Moon Pond, about a 100-meter walk. My family was also very satisfied.

GGuest UserTraveling with 2 of my friends on a fun girls trip! This was such an amazing location. We went from a sad and boring hotel in Beijing to this fantastic location and suddenly the whole trip was more fun and much more interesting. The host met us at the entrance to Hongcun and carried our luggage in the back of his little vehicle as we followed him around quaint buildings and through a narrow cobblestone walkway which was perfect for walking and pretty impressive to drive thru without scratching anything. After the beautiful walk we came through the most beautiful circle archway and into the cutest courtyard. We rented the room with a queen bed downstairs and 2 full beds up in the loft. The rooms were so cute we had to hide our luggage to do a full video tour to show our families before unpacking. The beds have mattress toppers which helped soften up the beds for us Americans. The host was very helpful and I would suggest getting WeChat to translate if you don’t speak Chinese. I don’t but it was easy to communicate. I would definitely stay at here again. Highly recommended!

GGippiThe property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

GGuest UserThe owner was a bit elusive, communicating entirely through WeChat, but they arranged for someone to pick us up and drop us off. The room was clean and had a small courtyard. It was very close to Moon Pond. We arrived around 6 PM, got settled, and then went out just in time to see the night view of Moon Pond. When we left, the owner took us to the roadside to catch a taxi and even helped us load our luggage into the Didi car.

GGuest UserThe hotel is a brand new one. Once arrived, the hotel reception staff served with a warm smile and generously grant us free breakfast for 2 mornings. Hotel renovation looks well and the room facilities are all modern and high tech. I was particularly impressed with its WCPan which has an auto washing services for buttock. The bed linen and flooring are clean well. Environment nearby is beautiful village scene where we enjoy having a lesuire walk there. All in all, it is a very good hotel which can make you relax even you just stay in the hotel. Ha one more that is the restaurant next to the hotel where one may enjoy delicious Chinese meals. The staff there are also very nice. Eating there is just like having meals at home. I am sure I will stay in Vienna again when next time I go to huangshan.

GGuest UserPig's Inn is a charming little hotel in a beautiful original building - the spaces are just incredible and endlessly photogenic. The village of Bishan itself is very quaint, still inhabited by locals but with a few cafés and bars, design stores and a wonderful bookshop. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel are fabulous - we had dinner here twice. We stayed here for two nights in January, as most of the spaces are open, the hotel was a little chilly, but we were very cosy in front of the fireplace in the living area.
Very happy we chose to stay in the small village of Bishan rather than the beautiful, but more touristy villages of Xidi or Hongcun. There are bikes and it was easy to get a Didi to visit the surrounding villages.
