Highly highly recommend to stay in 上善若水 民宿 if you visit 宏村。 The place is conveniently located near 月昭, which is one of the most pretty sight in 宏村。 Hotel is beautiful , spacious and very clean , with a big yard where you can sip tea and enjoy the serene vibe of the place. There are 9 rooms ,all nicely designed by interior designer. Service by the owners, husband and wife pair is impeccable. You feel welcome immediately with attention to your every need! Feels like you are staying with friends who provide you with comfort in a foreign place. Home cooked breakfast every morning and great quality sleep every night! Some photos of the hotel below. This guesthouse is located right inside the scenic area, making it super convenient for resting after an evening stroll. The decor is charmingly traditional, perfectly complementing the Huizhou architectural style. The guesthouse itself feels like an integral part of the scenic area, featuring a garden restaurant and a coffee bar where you can even pet cats. The owner is fantastic, offering luggage pickup and drop-off services right from the bus station. It's a highly recommended place to stay.

We were met at the entrance to help us with the luggage and to show us to the hotel and also helped with the luggage when we left. The place is quiet and peaceful and the lady boss is so helpful and genuinely warm hearted. Really glad we found this place.

I can't recommend Muhua Hotel in Hongcun highly enough. I had an absolutely wonderful stay. The manager and staff were so friendly, accommodating, helpful, and hospitable that it truly felt like home from the moment I arrived. Every need was met with warmth and a smile, making me feel like family rather than just a guest. With its spotless charm and such genuine care, this hotel is a true gem. Thank you to the entire team. I will definitely stay here again.

After a long trip down from Huangshan, we headed straight for this place. The owner was super welcoming, proactively reached out to us with directions, and even offered to pick us up. 'Flower Blooms in Midsummer' (Huakai Banxia) is incredibly cozy with a unique, charming courtyard. My absolute favorite was the tatami room – it felt just like a traditional heated 'kang' bed. I honestly didn't want to leave! We ordered food to the room, and I highly recommend the stir-fried chicken gizzards; I polished off two bowls of rice with it. If it hadn't been so hard to get a waitlist ticket for my return journey, I definitely would have extended my stay for another day to just relax, maybe explore a bit, and then come back for a nice meal. That's my ideal trip.

This guesthouse is absolutely, incredibly, amazingly wonderful!!!! First, I have to praise the owner. He's such a great guy. He called us beforehand to ask when we'd arrive, then picked us up in his 'sanbengzi' (a three-wheeled vehicle – extra experience points!). He helped us with our luggage. The next day, I wasn't feeling well and just wanted to extend for two hours to rest, but the owner immediately told us not to worry and just to stay as long as we needed. When we left, his aunt helped with our bags, and he arranged a car for us. We were in such a rush that I dropped something, and he even mailed it back to me… In short, the service was exceptional!! ❤️ Next time, I hope to bring my family and stay for a few more days. The environment is also incredibly good! The courtyard is uniquely designed, like a mini classical garden, full of ancient charm. The room was very clean, and there's even a meditation area. I tried to imitate Liu Yifei's meditation pose, and I felt refreshed afterward, haha~ Hongcun is truly beautiful, and the people here are so warm and friendly. It's a shame we were short on time, but I look forward to coming back again!

I'm very satisfied with everything, the only downside is the poor soundproofing. Located in the scenic area, it's convenient to go anywhere. The owner even offers to help with luggage in a small car, which is super convenient. Although it's a bit old, everything is very clean, and the balcony is quite large. Excellent value for money. The only downside is the soundproofing. The balcony is connected to the neighbor's, which is a bit awkward. Even with the doors and windows closed, you can clearly hear anyone talking in the yard. It's quite noisy during the day, but very quiet at night.

Such a fantastic place to stay in this magical village… we felt extremely welcomed since our arrival, the room was so tidy and comfy with all the amenities you could wish for. The breakfast was delicious with attention to all the details including making their own soy milk. We also had dinner there on our last night and the food was nothing short of a fancy restaurant but with the care of a homemade meal. I will never forget my time here… the village is also one of the most magical places I had the chance to visit. The staff helped us get a taxi to our next destination, they were really nice people and we wish to visit them again someday. Thank you!

Pig's Inn is a charming little hotel in a beautiful original building - the spaces are just incredible and endlessly photogenic. The village of Bishan itself is very quaint, still inhabited by locals but with a few cafés and bars, design stores and a wonderful bookshop. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel are fabulous - we had dinner here twice. We stayed here for two nights in January, as most of the spaces are open, the hotel was a little chilly, but we were very cosy in front of the fireplace in the living area. Very happy we chose to stay in the small village of Bishan rather than the beautiful, but more touristy villages of Xidi or Hongcun. There are bikes and it was easy to get a Didi to visit the surrounding villages.
