NNaixin17Before coming to Pingyao, I browsed over 10 guesthouses on Trip.com and finally chose this one! The main reason was its excellent location, especially since I was traveling with elderly family members. It's right in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City, making it super convenient to visit attractions like the Rishengchang Draft Bank, the Armed Escort Agency, and the County Government Office – everything is close by! 👍👍👍
The rooms aren't huge as it's an old house converted into a guesthouse, but they are very clean. All the necessary facilities are there, and both the rooms and the courtyard are spotless and comfortable. 🫰🫰🫰
The service was fantastic. The owner is very welcoming and attentive, always busy making sure everything is perfect. He gave us great recommendations on which attractions were worth visiting, marking them out on a map for us, which saved us a lot of valuable time planning our itinerary! When we left, he even gave us a bottle of their aged vinegar as a gift! 🫶🫶🫶 (Oh, and they offer pick-up and drop-off services; the young man who drove us was incredibly enthusiastic and energetic! 🤭🤭🤭)
Friends planning a trip to Pingyao should definitely contact this guesthouse owner and give it a try – it's excellent! (Lastly, I have to mention that all the restaurants he recommended were delicious, and if you mentioned his phone number, you even got a 15% discount! 🤩🤩🤩)

GGuest UserI came to Shanxi following the Black Myth route, and this homestay really amazed me! The night view inside Boya Residence is so photogenic that every shot feels like a blockbuster movie! It is one kind of scenery during the day, and it is another kind of scenery when you come back from the busiest main street and enter the courtyard at night. It is really beautiful, absolutely stunning. I took a lot of great photos in the courtyard, and I didn't have to retouch them. The courtyard was really comfortable and quiet. It was really leisurely to have a cup of tea in the courtyard and enjoy this moment of tranquility. Every detail in the room of this store is really pleasing. The beautiful boss will stand from the perspective of the guests to prepare everything in the room. This trip to Pingyao Ancient City is really worth it. When you come to Pingyao, you must stay in the courtyard of the beautiful sister's house, which is also an ancient courtyard with a history of the Qing Dynasty.

GGuest UserWe had an amazing stay in Pingyao. The location is perfect, right inside the old town in a quiet area, yet everything is within walking distance.
The rooms were spacious, very clean, and beautifully designed, easily one of the nicest we had during our trip. What really made the stay special was the service. The receptionist was incredibly friendly and helpful, gave us great restaurant recommendations, vouchers, small gifts, and even drove us to the taxi pick-up point.
The highlight of the hotel is its design. It truly feels like staying in a traditional courtyard house of a wealthy family, which made the whole experience very authentic.
We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Pingyao. It was one of the best stays we had in China and we would give more stars if we could.

AAnonymous UserThe owner, Brother Wang, was incredibly enthusiastic, providing exceptional service. He contacted us a day in advance to arrange pick-up and shared travel tips. What really stood out was when we decided to check out early and head to our next destination without prior notice; Brother Wang still got up early to drive us to the high-speed rail station. Considering it would have been hard to hail a taxi that early and how chilly Pingyao was in the morning, Brother Wang made us feel as warm as spring! He even upgraded our room for free. The inn's location is excellent, right on Yamen Street, very close to the City Tower, yet it's very quiet at night. The bedding was soft and comfortable, giving us the best sleep of our trip! PS: Staying here also includes free trials of Jin merchant traditional clothing for some beautiful photos!

This is a beautifully renovated courtyard hotel in the historic town of Pingyao. The family-run hotel was very welcoming, and the staff had good English, which helped us navigate things to do in and around the town.
Pingyao itself, and the surrounding area, is well worth a couple of days. We went to Encore Pingyao, which was very enjoyable even with the language barrier.
Another highlight was the SoReal / Huanzhen Pingyao Science and Technology Art Museum: 焕真·平遥科技艺术馆 or SoReal焕真·平遥科技艺术馆, located within the city walls. It was an immersive, high-tech experience, with the climax being a VR ride where you are strapped into moving chairs. Flying through mountains, with dragons coming at you and beautiful princes and princesses woven into the story, was very memorable.
Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay and one of the standout experiences of our trip.

”I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. The experience started perfectly with a complimentary pickup service at the train station, where the staff was waiting for me with a welcome sign. The hotel owner is incredibly kind and thoughtful, even lending me a portable translator to help with my communication during the trip.
The room is very modern and equipped with high-tech facilities. The bed is soft and comfortable, and the air conditioning system works perfectly for both heating and cooling. I was particularly impressed by the in-room water dispenser (both hot and cold water) and the massive projector screen which provided great entertainment.
The breakfast was delicious, served in a beautifully presented set. Every detail was taken care of with heart. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and hospitable stay!”

PPanPivoI must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Thank you very much

Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. AAnonymous UserWe ended our five-day trip to Shanxi and were very satisfied with Shanxi, especially this B&B in Pingyao Ancient City. After booking the room, we contacted the inn and reserved a parking space for us. We got off the expressway and arrived at the parking lot smoothly, and someone came over. They were very considerate in picking up my luggage. The location of the inn is very good, just at the intersection of the pedestrian street. It is not noisy at night and is very convenient for traveling. This is the most recommended one. The inn is a typical Shanxi courtyard house, just like living in a TV series. The courtyard is very comfortable, the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the service is excellent. I recommend everyone to stay here.

GG HofmannAmazing hotel in the middle of Ancient Pingyao. Only stayed 1 night, but managed to see the major sights within the city walls. The owner was very helpful organising a transfer back to the train station after checking out. The only issue is communication before and after departure as the owner doesn't answer queries sent directly to the hotel. We wanted to arrange a transfer before arrival, but haven't received a reply. Additionally after leaving the hotel we realised that we have left my medication in a portable fridge at reception. Tried calling the hotel several times, but they didn't pick up the phone. Otherwise we had great experience.
