2-Star Hotels in Paris

I stayed at this hotel for a few nights and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I checked in after midnight following a long day of travel and, being exhausted, didn’t double-check whether I’d been given the room I actually paid for. The next morning, I woke up early for a 5am bike tour and noticed something felt off, but I was too tired to fully process it. When I returned from the tour and tried to nap, I was woken by loud noise from the hallway, followed by a call from reception saying someone needed to come into my room to fix the air conditioning—something I wasn’t even aware was an issue. I was half-asleep but let them in because they insisted. The next morning, I was woken up again—this time by very loud noise from the room next door. I finally checked my booking on Trip.com and realized I hadn’t been given the room I reserved, which included a city view. I went to reception and explained the issue. The man at the front desk told me very bluntly that the hotel prioritizes placing families in rooms next to each other and that, because I was traveling alone, I was not a priority. That’s why I didn’t get the room I paid for. This was extremely disappointing—not only because I didn’t receive what I booked, but also because of the lack of communication and the way the situation was handled. I understand that room adjustments happen, but to downgrade a guest without informing them, then justify it by saying they’re “not a priority” is simply unacceptable. The location is great, but unfortunately, the service and disregard for guest comfort left me feeling very unwelcome.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hostel! The facilities are top-notch and the environment is very well-maintained, but what truly stands out is the staff. On my first night, I struggled to sleep due to a loud snorer in my room. When I brought this up the next morning, the team was incredibly understanding and professional—they seamlessly moved me to a different room without any hassle. I’ve slept like a baby ever since! A special mention to the lady at the front desk—she is so kind and always greets you with a warm smile and a sweet 'Merci.' It’s those small, genuine interactions that made me feel so welcome in Paris. This place is proof that a hostel can be both high-quality and full of heart. Highly recommended!

I have been visiting Paris with my 15 years old son. The hotel is great for its price. Close to Moulin rouge and 2 metro stations. Montparnas and Louvre are in walking distance (about 20 minutes). French breakfast is available (price is reasonable, but there's other oprions nearby). There are many nice restaurants around, where we could get lunch or dinner. We lived on 6 floor with amazing view! Hotel doesn't have an elevatoor, but we knew about that and were ready for the stairs. Cleaning was every day of our staing, room is small, but nice. Staff is very nice and friendly.

This hostel was not bad at all! I wouldn’t give it a 10/10 though, it was missing a laundromat and I really needed to get my clothes cleaned, since I was coming from London. But there was one that they recommended from a mile away, and it wasn’t bad to walk at all. They had very welcoming front desk, which was a plus for me! First impressions mean everything 🥰 this location is great, since it’s by the metro and you can go to lots of places from the M1 or M6, Nation Line, etc. The showers did work good for me when I was there for 5 days. I met some cool people along the way, and we ended up going to a cool jazz bar! Haha. A plus, is the rooftop. We got to eat and watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle, I wish I can send a video here but it’s only photos :( you’ll just have to believe me! A market place is right next door to the hostel, so you can get amenities and food. There’s also a really nice restaurant called “de Lou” and they had amazing steak! If you stay here, you can’t be “too boujie” and want the greater things lol, if you’re a solo traveler, who’s a pro, and here for the views laughs and giggles, full of adventures, this location of the people will be great for you! The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the location couldn't be better – right across from the North Station, with a metro entrance just outside. It was literally a two-to-three-minute walk from the Eurostar platform. The staff were diligent, responsible, and friendly. One time, I needed to print something at midnight, and Harold on duty immediately helped me out – a big thanks to him! The only downside to the hotel is the poor soundproofing. My room was next to a large room that could sleep five people. Luckily, out of my seven-night stay, there were only two nights when someone was next door: once it was a family with two crying children, and another time it was a group of young people…

I got really lucky here. Shared a room with all positive people. From the moment I arrived, the staff members were great. The hostel was extremely easy to find, was close to public transit, and there were several stores and restaurants around. I'm not much of a drinker, but I do appreciate that they had a rooftop bar with a great view. Breakfast wasn't too bad for the price either. Only problem I had was that there are only 4 washers and 4 dryers for that entire hostel so I never had a chance to use it as they were always occupied. The price for detergent was hefty so, bring your own!

The hostel is located right next to two of the main railway stations which was great for my travel plans. The stuff is really nice and helped me carry the luggage as one of the lifts is broken. Cleanliness could be better d. Ex there was a contact lense on the shelf of my bed but I do not use any. The hotel is a bit older, so there were some moldy spots in the bathroom, also the floor has some wear-and-tear signs. As other people wrote due to the club downstairs it can be a bit noisy. I think it is a great value for money in an expensive city with limited space, it is not a place I would stay to relax and recharge .

Staff are very friendly and extremely nice! The room was also very big and spacious which is rare for Paris. And also location was so central was great. But the bath tub was not clean and the room is quite old - you can tell by the walls for instance. Would say pretty good value for money if you’re in and out a lot (so you’re paying for the location) but if you care about the room quality, then would consider other options in Paris.

The hotel was very good overall, and the location was also decent. The nearest bus stop was only a 3-minute walk away, while access to the underground metro was around 10 to 14 minutes on foot. The tram stop was also within a 10 to 14-minute walking distance. The building itself was nice, clean, and felt fresh. Separate lockers were available, which could be used by paying a fee, allowing guests to store their luggage even after check-out. However, the security was not very good. In case of any incident, the staff does not actively help and usually just provide an email address or ask you to contact the police. It’s important to keep this in mind and stay cautious during your stay.

The location is perfect, with the Jules Joffrin metro station (130m) and bus line 40 stop right nearby, plus a taxi stand next to the metro. You don't have to get breakfast at the hotel, as you can find it everywhere in the city. Walking to the Sacre Coeur was also very close (800m). There were three of us – my wife, son, and myself – and we opted for a four-person room wanting a bit more space, but it still turned out to be quite small for us. Another downside was the lack of an elevator; we were on the third floor with a 'horror staircase' (I'm 58!). The toilet area was also tiny, and we missed having a chair, a kettle, or a small fridge. Oh well, perhaps I should have booked a more expensive room. However, if you're a traveler like us, I would still recommend this hotel for its great location, especially for a city trip, and for a room to just rest in, nothing more.
