2-Star Hotels in Cologne

The price you displayed on the trip has nothing to do with what we paid. I attach the bill, you should stop taking people wrong.

Wir hatten eine Unterkunft gesucht für eine Nacht und gefunden. Lage war top und alles hat reibungslos funktioniert. Zu Fuß super zu erreichen die Laxess Arena da das unser Ziel war lag das Schlafwerk perfekt und ist von unserer Seite zu empfehlen. Bei anstehenden Konzert besuchen wie in unserem fall.

Located in the suburbs, it's conveniently located by car, with several multi-story parking garages nearby. However, there aren't many restaurants or shops in the area. The lobby is decent, with a common area where you can sit and chat. Breakfast is rather basic, with limited variety. There aren't many types of ham, but there's plenty of bread and coffee. Dessert options are also scarce.

The hostel was about a 5mins walk away from the station and the cathedral. I had a nice view of the cathedral from my window so that was really nice! However, I visited during Summer and the electric fans were only given upon request. I didn’t know you could actually borrow one until I saw a guest carrying one into their rooms and I happened to be the last guest to have the electric fans upon asking the receptionist. I think it’s quite sad for the person after me, to not have the electric fans as it’s really hot in the rooms during Summer season. I think the hostel should provide one for every room and every guest. I had to book a room cleaning through the A&O Hostels app and the first time I booked it, the cleaning staff did not arrive. The second time I booked it, they only cleaned my room at 7pm in the evening which I thought was pretty late as I was already back in my room & had to step out. But overall, the single room and toilet was spacious and clean! Receptionist was also friendly and nice.

Smell of cigarette smoke in the room and in the common areas. A woman in the next room, apparently working in this hotel, who kept talking loudly on the phone, slammed her door, and above all we could hear her coughing every 30 seconds. Windows that let in so much air with lack of heating at night that I caught a cold (yes, I got sick because of it)! So, obviously, I do not recommend this hotel.

I stayed here when I went to see Cologne Cathedral. It's close to the station and seems to have a good security atmosphere, so I was able to travel without any worries. Thank you for your kind hospitality at check-in. The room was clean, which was nice. Soap, shampoo, etc. are not provided, so remember to bring your own. It was a shame that I couldn't have breakfast because check-out was before 7am, but it's no problem if you just want to take a shower and sleep. The other person in my room was also sensible, so it was a comfortable stay. Thank you.

Overall, it was okay, though it’s not the best hotel imaginable. The location is excellent—it’s a quick and easy walk to the cathedral or the train station. Keep in mind that there is no elevator. There is a narrow staircase, so you’ll have to carry your luggage up to the higher floors. The room is very small; it is genuinely difficult to fit and open two suitcases at the same time. We visited during a very hot spell, so staying in the room without air conditioning was tough. We had to keep the window and doors open to create a cross-breeze. One unpleasant surprise was the complete lack of breakfast; it turned out they had decided not to prepare it due to the heat. However, there was a nice café right across the street. Still, if you just need a place to sleep and the weather isn't too hot, this place works fine.

We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Arena, the location was superb just about 5 minute walk from the metro Kalk Post. The room was clean and spacious for the price even if it is old. The reception was very kind to give me a second card to the room when I asked for it. Unfortunately, there were somebody smoking and talking quite loud just in front of our windows (there were sitting on the stairs outside of our room), so that was quite uncomfortable. Nonetheless, it was good.

The hotel is small, the bed is small, the bathroom is not separated from wet and dry, the ground is full of water after the bath, the room floor is easy to slip, in addition to the price is cheaper, close to the tram station, not very satisfied, but the service is satisfactory

The only drawback is that it's not worth the price. Shampoo and bottled water aren't provided. There's no hairdryer. Otherwise, it's fine for an overnight stay. It's about a 15-minute walk to the main tourist attractions.
