2-Star Hotels in Wutai County

Most chain hotels on Mount Wutai cost over 500 RMB, with some even reaching over a thousand. To save on accommodation costs, I meticulously searched on Trip.com and finally chose a guesthouse (something I've done no more than five times in my two or three decades of travel experience). Overall, it was a great experience – reasonable price, warm and attentive service, thumbs up! 👍 **Transportation:** If you're driving, there's roadside parking available. If you're taking the bus to the scenic area, you can get off at the bus station (Puhua Temple), and the owner provides a car for pick-up and drop-off anytime, which is super convenient! To reach the core scenic area, it's just 2-3 stops on the free air-conditioned shuttle bus, which runs 24 hours – much more convenient than a private car. **Hygiene:** I originally booked a heated *kang* bed on the first floor, but the owner, concerned about dampness, proactively upgraded me to a room on the second floor. Although the room wasn't large, there was no mold or sewer smell, and the bedding was clean. After a tiring day of hiking, I fell asleep as soon as I lay down. Don't turn on the air conditioning though, it gets cold! 🤭 **Service:** The lady on the first floor was incredibly welcoming. She waited all afternoon for us to come back so she could take us to get free bracelets, insisting we didn't have to spend any money. Unfortunately, we had walked so much and returned so late that we didn't feel like moving anymore, so we didn't go. Before we left, she even gave us a bucket (about 5 jin) of local aged vinegar as a gift. I'm truly grateful, but since we had other plans, we couldn't take it. However, the thought really counts! 🥰🥰🥰 **Finally, let's talk about the downsides:** Is the small room considered a downside?! But then again, for this price, hygiene, and service within Mount Wutai, what more could you possibly complain about?! Don't be too demanding! 🥳🥳🥳

The boss is very good, stayed for about 20 days. The first time I lived in the room downstairs, I changed to the room upstairs when I lived. Especially warm, the boss is very good. My brother's feet were broken, but when I returned to Beijing, I was broken. Thanks to the boss's reminder, I must go to the hospital to check it. During the stay, the temples in the core scenic area of Wutai Mountain were almost all worshipped. When returning to the room, the boss will make up the water. It is very convenient to go to the core scenic area from the homestay. If there are Tibetans staying, it will be particularly lively.

The geographical environment is superior. The room is comfortable and clean. The boss is very enthusiastic, very clean, very quiet, and convenient to go anywhere. I will continue to stay here next time I come to Wutai Mountain. The whole decoration style is solid wood, giving people a warm, down-to-earth, warm and comfortable feeling. There are many restaurants around. There is a food street, and it is very convenient to go to various attractions. The boss gave a lot of travel suggestions. Because I came here in winter, the weather is relatively cold now. The warmth that comes when I enter the homestay is especially warm at night, and the bedding is also very clean. For people like me who are particularly obsessed with cleanliness, the satisfaction is very high. There is a bus stop at the intersection. You can take the bus to each attraction. It is also very convenient to drive by yourself. I drove here. There is a parking space at the door, and it is very safe. There is basically no noise after 9:00, and it is also very quiet during the nap at noon.

The guesthouse was amazing!! The owner was incredibly kind! They would personally pick you up and drop you off at the guesthouse anytime, which was very thoughtful. There were no transportation issues whatsoever. The rooms were also huge, beautifully decorated, and very clean. I was so lucky to have booked one; I'm extremely satisfied!

The homestay is very close to the south gate, the bus point is also close, it is convenient to travel, the room is very clean, the bedding is also very clean, and I saw the proprietress washing the bedding with my own eyes. The owner and the couple are very enthusiastic. It is the first time to come to Wutai Mountain. Thank you for teaching the order and focus of the visit, which added a warm feeling to my journey. The room was surprisingly clean and tidy, especially the bed – a 1.5-meter single bed that was incredibly comfortable. Other places only offer 1.2-meter single beds, making this a clear winner. The guesthouse provides disposable toiletries, bottled water, a smart toilet, and a 24-hour multi-functional shower. Parking is very convenient, as the guesthouse is located within the scenic area, close to many temples, and there's a bus stop right outside, making it easy to get around the area with 24-hour bus service. The owner is a very welcoming and friendly young man. We arrived with our dog in the early morning, and he personally came out to meet us and help with our belongings. The staff is very pet-friendly, making it a truly satisfying stay. I would definitely stay here again if I visited Wutai Mountain; I was very happy with my stay.

The room should have been newly renovated not long ago, very clean, with complete basic supplies, and a disposable toilet cover. The boss is very warm and considerate, and also helps to customize the travel route. The first floor of the hotel is a restaurant, the food is delicious, and it is very convenient. You can go upstairs to rest after eating. Parking is also very convenient. If you are only in the concentrated scenic area, it is recommended to take the free No. 8 bus. There are stops for several large temples. The bus stop is a few steps away from the hotel. There is a bus every few minutes, which is very convenient.

The staff is very friendly and the location was nice. Unfortunately the price/value ratio wasn't good because facilities are a bit old but it was our fault, it was a super busy weekend with very high demand (also we don't recommend to visit Wutaishan on weekends if you can avoid it)

Excellent! It's very close to Wuye Temple, so you don't have to rush around early in the morning. The owner and staff are very helpful and patient. You can ask the owner's wife if you have any questions. The food selection is comprehensive and the taste is authentic. The rooms are very clean, and there's a buffet breakfast with a good variety. I highly recommend it! The owner offers discounts for dining and staying at the hotel.

The place is right next to the green bus station and only couple of bus stops away from main attractions. It has shops around. The whole town and the street it is on is being renovated and it is very dusty. The hosts were eztremely helpful and nice. Cleanness left to desire better, but I told the hostess and they did their best to fix the issue. The whole place is old and in need for renovations, but service is very good, hosts really go out of way to help.
