I didn’t expect hotel bookings to be so popular during the Spring Festival holiday. We arrived at Mugen Youth Hostel at around 10 pm on the third day of the Chinese New Year. Since we were traveling as a family, the male and female combination did not quite meet the requirements of the youth hostel. However, the owner was careful and enthusiastic in contacting a room for us. Unfortunately, the surrounding area was too crowded that night. In the end, he still found a way to make room for us, solving the big problem of accommodation. I give a big thumbs up to that group of enthusiastic young people 👍 Moreover, the accommodation and sanitary environment of the hostel are really quite good, the price is affordable, and the room is clean and tidy. Even a middle-aged aunt like me was surprised. The rooms are divided into male and female rooms, and they are not mixed. A room usually has six beds, two bathrooms, spacious space, and private storage space. There are public entertainment facilities outside, including a book bar, games, billiards, etc. It is really suitable for young backpackers.

But it is very quiet at night when there are no tourists. The room is very big. This is the first time I have seen such a big room. It is transparent from north to south and has a large balcony. The room was clean and tidy inside.

The biggest plus for this hotel is that it is just 850 meters from the tourist attraction for which we came. The GaoYi Ridge, also known as Feitianshan (飞天山高椅岭景区) Scenic Spot. This is a small family run hotel which does not have an elevator. But the owners help you to carry the luggage up. The room is small but adequate, the furniture and bathroom fittings well appointed. The toilet kit was standard, though I normally do not use the disposable toiletries. There is a restaurant a stone's throw away from the hotel, which served us adequate food even late at night. The biggest disadvantage for this hotel is that it is about an hour's drive from the Chenzhou West Railway Station. But that did not deter us because our purpose was to go sightseeing for the GaoYi Ridge Danxia Landform.

I went with my friend and our stay was amazing! The room was very spacious, with two beds, and very clean. The place is located very close to the entrance of the main attraction park, and on the side you can also find unofficial hiking paths that are popular on social media. The highlight was the staff, who had the best attitude and were super friendly and helpful. You can also have a brilliant breakfast for only 10 yuan, which will give you energy for a full day of hiking. We stayed here for four nights and thoroughly explored Mangshan's East and West Gates and the surrounding area. The guesthouse is clean, with plenty of hot water and air conditioning that's both warm and cool. The price is reasonable, and it's close to the scenic area entrance with many delicious restaurants nearby. Tips: 1. There's a great Tujia restaurant about 50 meters away with large bowls of dishes. The Yao ethnic minority owner is very friendly and the portions are generous. Recommended dishes: Chicken hotpot, bighead carp hotpot, fern root rice cakes, dry-pot cauliflower, and various stir-fries are all excellent. 2. The guesthouse doesn't have an elevator, so you'll have to carry large luggage. There's no refrigerator. A microwave is provided for simple food heating. 3. There's a pretty good breakfast place next door that makes ”pig-killing noodles,” or you can turn right at the alley in front of the Liangxin B&B and find a local breakfast shop with good steamed dumplings and rice noodle rolls. 4. The ticket for entering through the West Gate is for two days. Remember, if you want to explore the General's Village scenic area, you must go counter-clockwise… If you don't believe it, you can try going clockwise 🤣 5. If it's cold, after one person finishes showering, the next person should wait a bit, otherwise there might not be enough hot water.

I have stayed in so many hotels, but this one can't say anything about it. It is really good. Transportation: The surrounding transportation is convenient. You can take a bus just a little further from the hotel. You can also take a motorcycle or take a taxi after leaving the hotel. You can drive directly to your destination. Travel: The hotel is very close to Yuhou Street in the city center. The pedestrian street snack street is right next to the hotel, and the BBK shopping mall is also next to it, which is really convenient. You can also go for a walk in Beihu Park and climb Suxianling Mountain. Price: Next time you come to stay in a hotel, this hotel will be your first choice. Not only is the price very affordable, but the service is also very good, the room types are very good, and it is located in the city center, so it is quite affordable. I will stay here again next time.

Very good homestay, the location is scarce, just opposite the No. 2 Bridge, the homestay is 10 meters away from the scenic spot is the essence section, and there are drivers to take orders in and out of the taxi. In addition to the fog view, Xiaodongjiang is also very beautiful on a sunny day in the evening. The quilt of the homestay is also clean, and breakfast, lunch and dinner can also be eaten at the homestay.

The hotel is not far from the high speed railway station. If you walk from the station towards the hotel, there is a very nice restaurant which you cross during the walk. In the morning you can buy dumplings nearby. The accommodation has only smoking rooms, at least when we checked in all the rooms we could choose smelled dirty. I hoped they openen the windows every day and night to get some fresh air. At the end this is what we did. There were a lot of other guests, but we did not hear them at all. The bathroom is standard and it can use a huge cleaning. Unfortunately there are no proper (throw away) slippers. For us one night was ok because we took the train the next morning.
