"The room was a bit small, about 30 square meters, but perfectly adequate for two adults and one child, especially since we spent most of our time outdoors anyway and only came back to the hotel to shower and sleep. The hotel's location is excellent – it's very close to the Hilton beach. If you head right out of the hotel and cross the traffic light, there's a 7-Eleven where you can buy a bus pass and snacks. Keep an eye out just before you reach the 7-Eleven intersection, as there's a small food truck market there with delicious and affordable food. P.S. There's an airport shuttle bus that pretty much drops you off right at the hotel entrance. However, if you're looking for the shuttle right after you land, it's a bit of a walk from the terminal. We actually tried out the airport bus route specifically when we were leaving, and it took about forty minutes."

"The facilities are old and the staff (a few Asian faces) have a bit of discrimination, but if you can speak English proficiency, they will improve you. Wi-Fi speed is slow, but the hotel location is OK, downstairs AB C or the hotel beach is very close."

I stayed here for 3 nights during my trip to Waikiki. It's a bit far from the main bus routes, so it's best suited for those looking to relax and take it easy in Waikiki. Among the hotels in Waikiki, this one stands out as being exceptionally new, which made for a very comfortable stay. Here are my thoughts: **Pros:** * The room was clean. * Even on a lower floor, the view was good. * Housekeeping was excellent. * Free morning coffee was available. * It came with a kitchenette. **Cons:** * The water pressure was a bit weak. * Due to ongoing renovations, the elevators took a long time, and some facilities were inaccessible. * The front desk/lobby area felt a bit underwhelming (possibly due to the renovations?). * The pool lacked a resort-like atmosphere.

We stayed at the one of the Historic Banyan King Room with City View for 4 nights, room was conveniently located in the main building, doesn’t come with a balcony, but has 2 windows. It gets noisy sometimes at night even though we stayed on the 4th floor. The resort also offers a list of cultural and wellness activities for booking, this is where the resort fee goes to, so make sure you book some of these activities if time permits. Overall we liked the hotel as it’s at the center of Waikiki and has direct access to the beach, several great restaurants and you can also pre-order Honolulu Coffee for pick-up at the hotel location.

Share with you the hotel experience: There are two rooms, one single bed in one room, two single beds in one room, the middle living room sofa is a double bed, and the living room has a kitchen with a full range of kitchenware, which is very suitable for the whole family, young and old, especially children. The family is very suitable. One bathtub can take a bath, and there are two showers. The bathroom is large. The space in the room is very reasonable. The balcony can go out directly to see the sea. Sometimes birds will come in. Downstairs is The swimming pool inside the hotel can only be accessed by swiping the room card. The hotel provides a towel card. You can go to the small window next to the pool to change the towels. After you use the towels, you can exchange the towels for use next time. There are many activities in the hotel. The submarine play items can be purchased just downstairs from the hotel, and the snorkeling can also be purchased downstairs from the hotel. In addition, the food in the hotel is also affordable and the price is acceptable. In short, the supporting facilities in the hotel are very good, which is very suitable for the whole family.

I booked an Oceanfront view room on a high floor. We arrived at the hotel around noon, and an Asian gentleman at the front desk assigned us room 59 on the 30th floor+ right away, without making us wait until 3 PM. He gave us the key cards directly so we could go upstairs. The location is truly impeccable, with an unbeatable ocean view overlooking the entire Waikiki Beach. The room itself is very spacious, with two queen-sized beds. Feeling a bit tired after the flight, I lay down and slept for a while. The mattress was very comfortable, just the right firmness for me. The soundproofing in the hotel is also excellent; there was no noise at night, only the sound of the ocean waves. The ground floor of the hotel is a commercial complex with an ABC store, restaurants, and cafes. Waikiki Beach is just across the street, and it's also within walking distance to the Royal Hawaiian Center shopping area and bus stops. If you don't mind slightly older facilities and a mediocre breakfast, you should definitely consider this hotel.

During check-in, the staff mocked my lack of English, laughing and making gestures at other staff members, which I found unpleasant. While all explanations were in English, the departure was in Japanese, so I assumed they understood everything. Upon check-out, I was surprised to see a payment of $1,347.40. After returning home, I called Trip.com and they handled the matter, refunding me $1,030.61. However, they had deducted a $316.79 service charge and other charges that were not included in my travel application. The hotel only sent me a receipt by email, with no apology. The staff member who checked me in and checked me out was the same, so I assumed they knew I didn't speak English before making the payment. It was a shame that my trip was so frustratingly disrupted by the hotel's front desk service.

This beachfront hotel had a great atmosphere and allowed for a truly elegant stay. Despite a few drawbacks, my overall impression was very positive. Pros: * Excellent location (right on the beach) * Wonderful ambiance in the restaurants like Mai Tai Bar and Surf Lanai * The historic room felt very clean and full of character. Cons: * The information given at check-in was outdated (there were discrepancies between the Japanese and English versions), which meant I missed out on the hotel tour. * Some restaurant staff seemed more focused on rushing through their duties. * Noise.

The location is great. The building is old. Bed making is not done every day, so there is no need to worry about tipping. Towels can be changed immediately at the change center on the 3rd floor. So you can stay clean every day. The pool and jacuzzi are small, but sufficient. It would be great if there was a children's pool. There is an ABC store on the first floor, which was very convenient. There was no gas stove in the kitchen, but I borrowed a kettle, so I was able to boil water. I was able to eat miso soup and cup noodles. Overall, the location was great, so it was good.

I've stayed at this hotel twice before for my Hawaii vacations, and the service has always been great. Since most flights arrive around 11:00 AM, I've usually been able to check in early for free if there was an available room, allowing me to go straight to sleep. However, this time I had to wait until after 4:00 PM for check-in. To get into a room immediately, I was asked to pay an extra $150. Given the time difference and my urgent need for rest, I agreed to the $150 surcharge. But then I was told that if I switched to a different room type, it would be an additional $80 per night, and they would waive the initial $150. First, I have to say the hotel is very good at marketing. Second, it would be much better if the hotel booking website clearly listed early check-in prices. That way, I could book it in advance online and get into my room to rest sooner!

OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel

This hotel is conveniently located along Hawaii's main street, offering city and partial ocean views. It seems very popular, with a constant stream of people checking in, including aviation workers and regular guests. While there were no issues with the service, location, or cleanliness, there was one truly disappointing thing. When I stayed there on a Saturday, I visited SKY Waikiki Bar, which I believe is located in the neighboring Waikiki Business Plaza. It's a rooftop bar with no sound barriers, and they started playing blaring club music around 11pm, continuing until around 1am. The hotel has a single window, so even with it closed, the sound still filtered in. I'd arrived the day before and was still suffering from jet lag and extremely sleepy, but the noise was so loud I couldn't fall asleep at all, and it was the worst sleep I've ever had. Of course, this incident itself is not the Outrigger's fault, but I was truly disappointed that they didn't take any precautions or take any measures, such as making an announcement on the day, asking if there were any problems the next day, or making some kind of effort to reduce the noise, or even protesting to Sky Waikiki Bar to stop playing the loud music until midnight. Do none of the staff notice or care? So, on top of the already high room rate, a resort tax of tens of thousands of yen was added to our bill, and we were forced to sleep through the noise. I wanted to ask how it was really a resort. The hotel was apparently renovated and looked nice at first glance, but the bathtub and shower fixtures were rusty blue, and the walls inside the hotel looked like they'd just been painted, so there was no sense of finesse. I think it's a good place for those who just want a good location and a certain level of cleanliness. It was our first honeymoon in Hawaii, and we stayed at the Outrigger for a few days, but it was a disappointing experience that ruined our memories.

We were a bit disappointed initially with the cleanliness as there was a stain on the bed sheet upon entering the room. Thankfully, housekeeping changed it within the hour. The place is located in a central location, close to the beachfront at Waikiki, with a partnership with beachfront stores for beach equipment, as well as GoPros, sunscreen, lotion etc. that can be borrowed, included in the resort rate. However, the age of the hotel is really starting to show, it is in need of not just a touch up but an overhaul where possible. To be fair, the price, especially that paid for during this period, was a fair representation especially compared to neighbouring downtown hotels, given you do receive much more space and a kitchenette with microwave in the case of the 1 bedroom suite. However, I would say that I would have enjoyed my stay far more if at least some work was put in to modernise the space. In particular, my bathtub had peeling paint, and the colours of the room need some work.
