Guest UserI stayed here for 3 nights during my trip to Waikiki. It's a bit far from the main bus routes, so it's best suited for those looking to relax and take it easy in Waikiki. Among the hotels in Waikiki, this one stands out as being exceptionally new, which made for a very comfortable stay.
Here are my thoughts:
**Pros:**
* The room was clean.
* Even on a lower floor, the view was good.
* Housekeeping was excellent.
* Free morning coffee was available.
* It came with a kitchenette.
**Cons:**
* The water pressure was a bit weak.
* Due to ongoing renovations, the elevators took a long time, and some facilities were inaccessible.
* The front desk/lobby area felt a bit underwhelming (possibly due to the renovations?).
* The pool lacked a resort-like atmosphere.

Perfect location. Rooms clean and beds comfy. Great breakfast but should have included in package. Daily charge very expensive. Naive about the daily resort charge which made it a very expensive stay, you’re not made aware until check out. Great holiday though. Will be back but better prepared for hidden charges

Hygiene: Excellent. The entire place was very clean and tidy, with no trash or dust, and no unpleasant smells – everywhere smelled fresh. The gym was also clean. The only minor issue was the pool, which could get a bit noisy and messy due to the crowd.
Ambiance: Fantastic. The rooms themselves were impeccable, all over 50 square meters, with mostly identical layouts, just differing in their specific location. They had everything you could ask for: a bathtub, shower, two sinks, two wardrobes, a dressing table, and a balcony with a view. A special mention for the bathtub – it filled up incredibly fast, less than five minutes, which is the quickest I've ever seen. The decor was very sophisticated, with high-quality materials that gave it a timeless feel, yet it was maintained beautifully, which was very impressive.
Service: Excellent. The doormen were highly efficient at opening car doors and handling luggage. The check-in experience at the front desk was great; the staff's attitude was impeccable, they were very professional, didn't strictly adhere to every rule, and were very generous and welcoming. If a room was available, they arranged immediate check-in. Any requests were handled with high efficiency; for example, beach chairs were brought and set up quickly, and anything needed was brought to the room promptly. They even helped close the curtains, making us feel truly at home.
Facilities: Outstanding. The decor is very distinctive and rich in character. It has all the amenities expected of a five-star hotel. As one of Hawaii's top three luxury hotel resorts, it boasts a quiet private beach and a golf course, plus its own dolphin lagoon where you can experience close interaction with dolphins. There are four restaurants, a well-equipped gym with fruit and lemon-coconut water, and well-appointed restrooms. There are also many century-old decorations and various shops, all selling co-branded hotel merchandise, which is quite rare and unique.
Overall, this hotel is absolutely worth a special trip. All aspects were flawless. What truly stands out is its century-old heritage and expansive space, yet it shows no signs of age and is meticulously maintained. I personally love this feeling of historical charm. Highly recommended.

First of all, the scenery is so perfect.
The beach in front of the hotel is good, and the view from the pool is so beautiful. Maybe it was because the old resort was acquired from Ritz-Carlton, but I saw a lot of regrets.
1. Cleanliness
- The grass and hair in the room towels came out and it was difficult to use, so the pool towels felt rather clean.
2. Toilet
- The shower room is too narrow and attached to the toilet, so it is very inconvenient to go back and forth. I think it's probably an old room feature even if it's remodeled.
3. Friendly staff
- I've been to Ritz-Carlton, another city, and it's the first time I've been to a place that's not as friendly as here. Maybe it's because it's Asian, but when you check in, you don't explain the facilities well, and you don't check the details before you ask for a receipt when you check out. At the beach house restaurant, it's called Walk-In Welcome, but there's no seat. It may not have been, but even if I came on time for the reservation, I was guided to the corner. (Even though it was the end of dinner time, it was a reservation seat and there was no other table)
The natural scenery and lobby were good, but considering the price or the expectations for the Ritz-Carlton brand, the attitude and cleanliness of the staff are unfortunate.

YUTONGShare with you the hotel experience:
There are two rooms, one single bed in one room, two single beds in one room, the middle living room sofa is a double bed, and the living room has a kitchen with a full range of kitchenware, which is very suitable for the whole family, young and old, especially children. The family is very suitable. One bathtub can take a bath, and there are two showers. The bathroom is large. The space in the room is very reasonable. The balcony can go out directly to see the sea. Sometimes birds will come in. Downstairs is The swimming pool inside the hotel can only be accessed by swiping the room card. The hotel provides a towel card. You can go to the small window next to the pool to change the towels. After you use the towels, you can exchange the towels for use next time. There are many activities in the hotel. The submarine play items can be purchased just downstairs from the hotel, and the snorkeling can also be purchased downstairs from the hotel. In addition, the food in the hotel is also affordable and the price is acceptable. In short, the supporting facilities in the hotel are very good, which is very suitable for the whole family.

During check-in, the staff mocked my lack of English, laughing and making gestures at other staff members, which I found unpleasant. While all explanations were in English, the departure was in Japanese, so I assumed they understood everything. Upon check-out, I was surprised to see a payment of $1,347.40. After returning home, I called Trip.com and they handled the matter, refunding me $1,030.61. However, they had deducted a $316.79 service charge and other charges that were not included in my travel application. The hotel only sent me a receipt by email, with no apology. The staff member who checked me in and checked me out was the same, so I assumed they knew I didn't speak English before making the payment. It was a shame that my trip was so frustratingly disrupted by the hotel's front desk service.

The facilities are old and the staff (a few Asian faces) have a bit of discrimination, but if you can speak English proficiency, they will improve you. Wi-Fi speed is slow, but the hotel location is OK, downstairs AB C or the hotel beach is very close.

My stay didn't live up to expectations. When I went for breakfast in the morning, I was told it wasn't included, even though I'd specifically confirmed it was when booking. That immediately soured my mood. Thankfully, I contacted the platform's customer service, and they resolved it quickly and offered compensation. The hotel's incredible sea view made up for the shortcomings. I really hope the platform and the hotel, especially one with such a rich history, can avoid such communication errors in the future to ensure a truly excellent guest experience.

This hotel is conveniently located along Hawaii's main street, offering city and partial ocean views. It seems very popular, with a constant stream of people checking in, including aviation workers and regular guests. While there were no issues with the service, location, or cleanliness, there was one truly disappointing thing.
When I stayed there on a Saturday, I visited SKY Waikiki Bar, which I believe is located in the neighboring Waikiki Business Plaza. It's a rooftop bar with no sound barriers, and they started playing blaring club music around 11pm, continuing until around 1am.
The hotel has a single window, so even with it closed, the sound still filtered in. I'd arrived the day before and was still suffering from jet lag and extremely sleepy, but the noise was so loud I couldn't fall asleep at all, and it was the worst sleep I've ever had. Of course, this incident itself is not the Outrigger's fault, but I was truly disappointed that they didn't take any precautions or take any measures, such as making an announcement on the day, asking if there were any problems the next day, or making some kind of effort to reduce the noise, or even protesting to Sky Waikiki Bar to stop playing the loud music until midnight. Do none of the staff notice or care?
So, on top of the already high room rate, a resort tax of tens of thousands of yen was added to our bill, and we were forced to sleep through the noise. I wanted to ask how it was really a resort.
The hotel was apparently renovated and looked nice at first glance, but the bathtub and shower fixtures were rusty blue, and the walls inside the hotel looked like they'd just been painted, so there was no sense of finesse. I think it's a good place for those who just want a good location and a certain level of cleanliness.
It was our first honeymoon in Hawaii, and we stayed at the Outrigger for a few days, but it was a disappointing experience that ruined our memories.

We were a bit disappointed initially with the cleanliness as there was a stain on the bed sheet upon entering the room. Thankfully, housekeeping changed it within the hour. The place is located in a central location, close to the beachfront at Waikiki, with a partnership with beachfront stores for beach equipment, as well as GoPros, sunscreen, lotion etc. that can be borrowed, included in the resort rate.
However, the age of the hotel is really starting to show, it is in need of not just a touch up but an overhaul where possible. To be fair, the price, especially that paid for during this period, was a fair representation especially compared to neighbouring downtown hotels, given you do receive much more space and a kitchenette with microwave in the case of the 1 bedroom suite. However, I would say that I would have enjoyed my stay far more if at least some work was put in to modernise the space. In particular, my bathtub had peeling paint, and the colours of the room need some work.
