"A Relaxing Stay with Warm and Wonderful Service We stayed for 3 nights with 2 adults and 1 child, and overall, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. We were especially delighted to receive a complimentary upgrade to the Jacuzzi Villa. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Even with an extra bed for our child, there was still plenty of space and it never felt cramped. We also loved having the private courtyard, which was a lovely little space to sit, relax and enjoy some quiet time. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the staff. Everyone was friendly, polite and always greeted us with a smile. A special thank you to Ms. Kob, who was exceptionally warm and helpful. She was always willing to assist us and made us feel very well taken care of. Her genuine hospitality really added to our experience. The breakfast was good as well, with a decent variety of choices. For guests who prefer stronger and spicier Thai flavours, the food may taste a little milder than expected, but we still enjoyed the selection. The location is another plus. The beach is within walking distance, so it was very convenient to enjoy the seaside without having to drive. It gave us a very relaxing holiday atmosphere. There are a few areas where the property could benefit from some maintenance and improvement. In our villa, some sections of the wooden flooring were slightly raised and may need attention for safety and comfort. The parking area is also quite steep, which can feel a little challenging, although the staff were helpful and could assist with parking arrangements. For families with older children, one thing to consider is that the shower area does not have much privacy or a proper screen, so this may be more suitable for couples or families with younger children. Despite these small points, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. The spacious villa, relaxing atmosphere, friendly service and convenient access to the beach made our experience very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay, and we would be happy to return in the future. 💛"

"Silavadee Pool Villas Samui: An Honest Review 🇹🇭 Silavadee Pool Villas, Koh Samui My honest thoughts after staying at this popular cliffside villa. 🏝️ Location: Even closer to the sea than the neighboring Banyan Tree. The hotel is nestled on a cliffside promontory at Lamai Beach, right next to the Banyan Tree. However, Silavadee's overall terrain is more beachfront, directly facing the entire bay, giving it a naturally superior ocean view. Surrounding amenities aren't the most convenient: The nearest convenience stores and restaurants are at least a 15-minute walk away. If you don't want to walk, don't worry – the hotel offers complimentary shuttle services to Chaweng Beach and Lamai Town, making getting around quite hassle-free. 🏡 Room Types & Recommendations: Ocean View Villa The hotel primarily features detached Thai-style villas, categorized into first-row ocean view, partial ocean view, and garden view villas, along with basic standard rooms. My immediate impression was that the indoor room space wasn't as large as advertised. However, the private terrace and private pool with ocean views more than made up for it. On the first night, we were assigned Villa 28. There was an observation deck in front, obstructing the ocean view. Not only was the view incomplete, but the privacy of the terrace was very poor – you could see directly into the room from outside. I immediately contacted the front desk, and they kindly moved us to Villa 29 the next day, free of charge. This villa offered an unobstructed panoramic ocean view, and the terrace was completely private with a phenomenal view – a world of difference! 👉 Tip for your stay: Be sure to request a first-row ocean view villa, specifically number 29 or higher. Villas 26 and 27 also offer better ocean views. If you're only planning to stay in a basic room type, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. 🌊 Public Areas & Beach: Stunning pools, average beach The hotel's overall public area isn't particularly large, but it boasts two expansive infinity pools perched on the cliffside overlooking the ocean, perfect for photos. It also has a private beach at the foot of the hill, but it's quite rocky, and the sand is coarse, making it uncomfortable to walk barefoot. It's fine for taking pictures, but not ideal for leisurely strolls or swimming. 🍴 Dining: The hotel's biggest highlight, breakfast is divine! The only absolutely flawless aspect of this hotel is its dining. It completely exceeded my expectations, comprehensively outshining the InterContinental I stayed at previously in terms of taste and ambiance! 1. Cliffside Breakfast Restaurant The breakfast restaurant is built on the cliff, offering a 180° unobstructed ocean view. It operates on a buffet-plus-à-la-carte model, and all the freshly prepared dishes are consistently excellent – you can't go wrong. Every dish has amazing flavor and seasoning, and enjoying breakfast with the sea breeze is an incredibly blissful experience. 2. MOON Restaurant (popular spot) Previously a dedicated breakfast spot, it's now exclusively for dinner. Located next to the second main pool, it offers a fantastic ambiance for a romantic dinner, enjoying Western cuisine and seafood with the sea breeze at dusk. ⚠️ Real Drawbacks: Consider carefully before booking It's a bit overpriced, heavily leans into its 'influencer hot spot' status, and attracts many Chinese tourists. During peak season, room rates are high, and considering the overall amenities, it's not particularly cost-effective. ✍️ Final Recommendation for Your Stay This is a cliffside 'influencer' hotel with very polarized pros and cons. Its advantages are the stunning cliffside ocean views, private pools in individual villas, and a top-tier cliffside breakfast. Its downsides include challenging uphill walks, many mosquitoes, average amenities, and a less-than-ideal value for money. If you decide to stay: I only recommend booking a first-row ocean view villa or higher. I absolutely do not recommend booking basic room types. Make sure to communicate in advance to avoid Villa 28, which has an obstructed view!"

"I had high expectations for this Ritz-Carlton hotel, but despite being a five-star hotel, I left feeling quite disappointed. One of the biggest inconveniences was that you have to rely on buggies to get around the resort. Walking is technically possible, but the distances are long and the routes are dull, so you're constantly waiting for transportation. The soundproofing in the room was surprisingly poor. I could clearly hear the guests upstairs talking, coughing, moving chairs, and walking around. This is simply unacceptable for a luxury hotel. The breakfast was another letdown. The selection was rather limited, and the bottled juices tasted diluted rather than freshly squeezed. There were no desserts available to order from the menu—only egg dishes. Even getting a cup of coffee required waiting 10–15 minutes. The gym was another major disappointment. For a hotel of this caliber, the fitness center is incredibly underwhelming. When I first saw it, I was genuinely shocked and frustrated. Considering how much guests pay to stay here, I expected a modern, well-equipped gym. Instead, it felt more like the fitness room of a three- or four-star hotel. This is simply unacceptable for a luxury resort and honestly quite outrageous. The biggest disappointment, however, was the beach. It looks nice for sunbathing, but swimming is almost impossible because the seabed is covered with sharp rocks and large stones. During our stay, both my wife and another guest cut their feet. I have a serious question for the Ritz-Carlton management: with the prices you charge your guests, can you really not invest in cleaning the beach? Bring in an excavator, remove the sharp rocks, and make the beach safe. How many more people need to get injured before something is done? You expect guests to spend money in your expensive restaurants, yet you can't provide a safe place to swim. That is simply disgraceful. Another downside is the location. There are no shops within walking distance, so even buying basic groceries requires taking a taxi. Overall, this stay was a major disappointment and nowhere near the standard I expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand. Rating: 2.5/5"

"1. **Check-in** We were greeted with welcome drinks, and all the services available during our stay were thoroughly explained. After check-in, we were taken to our room by golf cart. 2. **Location** There's not much around, but they offer scooter rentals and a shuttle bus service. The shuttle bus goes to two night market areas, but it doesn't run very frequently. It was convenient for tours as the pier for ferries to Koh Tao was only about a 10-minute drive away. 3. **Room** The room was very clean and spacious, and the ocean view was absolutely stunning. The desk, closet, vanity, and refrigerator were all generously sized, making our stay completely stress-free. 4. **Bathroom** The bathroom was very clean, with excellent water pressure and temperature. Having two showerheads was very convenient, allowing two people to shower simultaneously. Amenities were also readily available by requesting them at the front desk. 5. **Facilities & Services** The hotel offers so many facilities and services that we couldn't even use them all during our stay. The gym was impressive for a hotel gym, equipped with 30kg dumbbells, a Smith machine, and 25kg/20kg plates, making it suitable for serious workouts. We had breakfast at the restaurant, which was an à la carte buffet, and every dish was delicious. We also dined there one evening; the food was excellent, and the prices were comparable to restaurants in town. The pool was under renovation for most of our stay, so we only got to use it on the last day, but it was a beautiful pool with a great atmosphere. 6. **Other** All the staff members were kind and attentive, and it felt like they effectively shared guest information among themselves. I fell ill during my stay and felt bad for inconveniencing the hotel, but the next day, every staff member I encountered asked if I was okay. I was extremely satisfied with both the facilities and services, and I would definitely love to stay here again if I visit Koh Samui in the future. I would confidently recommend this hotel to anyone I know visiting Koh Samui. The only minor drawback I could mention is the significant elevation changes within the property, which might be a bit inconvenient for those with mobility issues."

"Great location in Chaweng and a beautiful beach right in front of the hotel. The room was clean, although quite small considering we had booked a deluxe room. The sea was also quite shallow, which made swimming less convenient. The main downside was the noise, as we could clearly hear people in the hallway and in neighboring rooms. The restaurant was okay, nothing exceptional but still decent. There were also no sun loungers available on the beach. Overall, the stay was average. The location is a real advantage, but the small room, noise, and a few other details kept the experience from being better."

"Service was excellent right from the start. We could have breakfast in room for one the mornings. Our “secret room” was exclusive and super private. Room service tasted awesome. The team initiated late check out at 3pm to accomodate our departure flight back. Super recommended if you are coming for your special occasion trips or just a restful getaway. Location is 3min from Central Samui where supermarkets and restaurants are just stone’s throw away."

"after having had a disappointing stay in Amari Koh Samui, we were so glad to have moved to hyatt. we stay there for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. from the moment we arrived, the customer service was amazing. The front desk and the concierge were amazing. love the lobby, it's open space overlooking the sea. we arrived early so we had lunch first but they pretty quickly had our room ready and our luggages were already sent to the room even without me telling them. amazing! we upgraded from a partial sea view to a full sea view room and no regrets. my baby loved the room so much, running around and looking at the view. we loved the room instantly, very clean, spacious, and great view. Kids friendly, i love how they have couple of selections for kids menu and not just fried stuffs and pasta. the staffs are all friendly with the kids as well they totally engage with the children. Their kids club is big and they have activities everyday and the whole day. They do have kids pool side as well with slide and a small outdoor play ground area. it has a grassy area where you can play and run around with your kids. the only downside for us, not much options for breakfast and not really a beachfront where you can swim freely nor can you have a long seaside walk. cant build sandcastle as well. my baby loves to play with sand. when you read about hyatt beach being rocky and not sandy white, they do mean there are huge rocks on both sides. see my photo for better understanding. they do have live ban and firework show in the evening at Sesun restaurant. overall it didnt matter to us, we went to relax, stayed in the resort and relaxed and that's what we got and felt relaxed the entire stay. HIGHLY recommend staying here and when we head back down to koh samui we will surely stay in Hyatt again."

"The hotel is old and quite run-down. In the common areas, the windows are dirty and the roof is leaking. The room itself is a bit dated, though everything works fine. The balcony access is through wooden windows, and there's a centimeter gap between the shutters, allowing insects to easily fly in. The hotel grounds are nice, but it's important to note that getting to the beach involves walking downhill, and coming back requires an uphill climb, including stairs. However, you can call a golf cart to take you back up from the beach. The breakfasts are good, with a large selection, plenty of fruits and vegetables, fresh juices, cheeses, and a wide variety of drinks. The beach is wonderful, with a gentle entry and clean water."

"How should I put it? It's really hard to rate this place! Pros: The views are absolutely stunning – cliffs, the ocean, a private beach, free water activities, shuttle service, and an exclusive pool. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile. Cons: On the first night, my husband was bitten by some kind of insect. After looking it up, it was most likely bed bugs or fleas. He was covered in red bumps that itched for days and still hadn't healed by the time we were almost back home. Also, our so-called dedicated butler completely disappeared. We had a WeChat group, but she never responded, so we had to figure everything out ourselves."
