Scenic Hotels in Athens

"Skylark Hotel Athens offers a generally positive stay, with a few aspects worth highlighting. The hotel, which previously operated under the Brown brand, has retained much of its boutique, design-led style, creating a pleasant and contemporary atmosphere throughout the property. Its location works well for visiting central Athens, and overall it represents fairly good value for the price segment. The guest rooms are relatively compact, so travelers who need a lot of space should keep this in mind. However, the layout makes sensible use of the available area, and the decor and furnishings feel modern and comfortable, making it suitable for short city trips. In terms of noise and cleanliness, the experience was satisfactory and allowed for a restful night. From earlier visits, the breakfast stood out as a strong point, with notably high quality and variety for this category of hotel. On the most recent stay, breakfast was not tried, so it is not possible to judge whether the previously high standard has been maintained. In summary, Skylark Hotel Athens is a good option for guests seeking a stylish base in Athens with a reasonable price-to-quality ratio."

"I rarely leave reviews for hotels, but this stay truly exceeded my expectations. Considering it was the cheapest hotel on Trip.com that day, I didn't have high hopes because of the low price. However, the room environment was similar to a domestic Ji Hotel, and the front desk and restaurant staff were incredibly friendly. The breakfast was also delicious. It's only about 3 kilometers from the Acropolis, making it very convenient to visit all the attractions in Athens city center. The only slight drawback might be that the street it's on feels a bit desolate, but there's no need to worry as the police station is nearby."

"I’m a solo traveller and I stayed here on my first trip to Athens. I wanted to be central to the attractions. The location was amazing! It is right on Monastiaki square where you can take the metro to and from the airport making it easy to get to! You can also use theirs to get around Athens! Low cost and easy to use! You can see the Acropolis right from the square! There are also lots of lovely restaurants and coffee shops around this area too! On arriving at the hotel the reception staff were very warm and welcoming. They helped me to arrange transportations and offered to prepare a takeaway breakfast bag for my early check out which was very kind! The room itself was quite large and clean with all of the amenities that you may need. The shower was hot which was good! The downside to the room is that it is very noisy from the outside due to it being on the square. It can get busy at nighttime, however I did expect this due to its location. I came prepared and brought earplugs to sleep in which did the trick! The breakfast is served in the rooftop bar. Plenty of choice and delicious pastries each day. Hot and cold options available which was nice! The views from here are amazing! You can sell all around you and have a view of the Acropolis as you enjoy your breakfast! Wow! Photos attached of the view from breakfast at the hotel rooftop and the square! I would recommend this hotel to stay on if you are wanting to be in the centre of Athens! Everything was accessible and the staff was always happy to help! Thank you so much for being so lovely during my stay! I would come back again! 😊"

"This is definately not a 5 star hotel. I can’t understand how it’s been given that ranking. The room was definitely not the same as the picture. The carpet in the room was old and faded. The decor looked like it was from when it was first built or updated, at least 30+ years ago. The bathroom in the executive room was worse than Butlins basic accommodation in the U.K., and that’s saying something. The yellow sofa in the grand reception area was tired and dirty. I definitely would never stay there again or recommend to anybody. The majority of the staff were unfriendly. The waiters in the dining room never even looked at you. We had to go to them to request tea and coffee with our breakfast and it seemed like it was too much trouble for them. We stayed in the hotel as part of a fully inclusive cruise booking. The cruise company Iglu cruises must have got a really good deal with them. The hotel was full of people on fully inclusive deals. Definitely not five star. More like 2 star in my opinion."

"The service is good as well as the location. However, it is not so clean and a few things need renovation."

"A small, trendy hotel in a central part of town. Communication prior and check-in experience were very good. Being beside a restaurant with loud live entertainment and across the road from a night club, the room proved very noisy until midnight, when things settled down somewhat. Several good local eateries and transport options were available. Possibly somewhat overpriced compared with Athens comparables."

"The hotel is quiet and hygienic, the room is large, parking is available at the door, and breakfast is average."

"The hotel is a ten-minute walk from the nearest Blue Line subway station and a ten-minute walk from the archaeological relics of KeRAMEIKOS and its museum, a sightseeing spot in the Acropolis Sightseeing Package. The hotel is an apartment hotel with a sense of design in the color and style of the room decoration and tableware. The room is spacious, with a balcony to sit on the balcony and drink beer ..., the room has a large sofa; the wifi signal is strong; there is a coffee machine, you can make your own espresso coffee, loft two floors, the bedroom is upstairs. Breakfast is rich, you can order fried eggs, etc."

"The hotel was sleek. I like the minimalist style of the hotel. Looks very new. The receptions area was bright and shiny. Classy. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant and a swimming pool (do not know if you can swim in the summer). It is not that big. From the rooftop you can see the parthenon. It was nice! The staff there are friendly and helpful. The food is okay and drinks were good though hotel price as we all know, is pricey. The room was spacious enough but they had no telephone to use to call the receptions if ever you need anything. However, I like that they had a nespresso. The location though is not that near to Plaka and Acropolis. It’s almost more than a kilometer away but it’s a straight line. If you are a walker, that would be a good warm up. They could call you a cab any time and they had all the information that we needed. Downside: Elevator was slow and noise from the hallway and the road could easily be heard. Wish they would do something to make the rooms sound proof."
