"Was there for one night. Reached there early in the morning and left around 10am. Was upgraded and happy with the room. Breakfast was good too. Only feedback is the quality of the towels and bedding items, which we felt can be improved."

"Room was average, but I was placed in a room with a connecting door to another room, and there was very little sound insulation between the two rooms. I could also see light coming through the cracks around the hallway door. Since this hotel is near the airport, many guests are likely staying there before or after travel and may already be on limited sleep. Because of that, I’m not sure I would recommend this hotel if a quiet room is important. That said, the staff were great, and I appreciated the free shuttle."

"The location is superb, and the rooms are very spacious. The hotel breakfast was incredibly varied and delicious. With an LRT (light rail transit) station right next door, getting around is extremely convenient. Calgary City Hall is just a stone's throw away, and the adjacent public library is absolutely stunning – it's a well-known tourist attraction in downtown Calgary."

"Not our first time staying here -but we left with a sense of frustration today! It began when the front desk couldn’t find our reservation - twice ! (despite a phone call 2 hours prior to check in). Had to take my driver’s licence and go “somewhere to talk to someone in the back” - then he came back (after 2 or so  minutes) and “magically” the reservation had been found. Unnerving for my identification to disappear from my sight. No explanation offered. Frustrated again at check out when the desk clerk tried to charge us for something from the snack bar in our room - we had literally left our room 2 minutes before. Couldn’t tell us what item we had “consumed” (we hadn’t consumed anything - especially at those prices!) and then when asked how they could possibly know within 2 minutes (of us leaving our room) that an item had been consumed - they became very defensive and couldn’t actually answer the question of “how do you know what to charge us for” and the response was “it’s for the report at the end of the day - no one is saying you actually took anything”. Except that’s exactly what the desk clerk said the charge was going to be for - “an item from the snack bar for a total of $4.20”. After challenging the charge we were told that no charge would be put through on the credit card. Made to feel like we had “stolen” something when we asked for further clarification on the charge. “No apologies or thank you for staying with us”. Disappointing. Side note - Service in the ****** was great - including the restaurant."

"The plan is not as good as the changing trip to Calgary. Fortunately, it was a great surprise and joy along the River Ridge Hotel. I stayed for 4 consecutive nights. The room space, facilities, common living room layout and breakfast snacks were all done in place and intimate. It’s really comfortable to make breakfast and sit in the sun every morning. The hotel environment is not to mention, just by the Bao River, there are two different styles of riverside parks at both ends. Even if you visit the hotel around the hotel, you can enjoy the autumn colors and different scenery of Canada."

"Service was fine, they gave us warm cookies upon arrival and check out. The pool and fitness rooms were clean, and the rooms were tidy, though they were a bit dark from lack of lighting. A couple of things to note: the mattresses were extremely soft (even as someone who prefers soft mattresses), it felt like I was slowly sinking into the floor. The soundproofing is also quite weak, so I would recommend sleeping with earplugs or it may be hard to sleep with guests running around. One more thing to note was that the balcony door was not locked when we checked in. Since we are on the 7th floor it was safe, however next time I would double check just in case, because there are many people visiting the hotel for functions and events."

"The room facilities are a bit old, but the hygiene is good, the price is cheap, and parking is convenient. However, the front desk service was really subpar. I couldn't understand why, while the front desk was processing my check-in, a supervisor came over and started chatting with them about irrelevant things, leaving me standing there waiting for them to finish. The first room card didn't work, so I had to go back downstairs, queue up again to exchange it, and they kept asking me if I was using it correctly. Am I stupid? Do I not know how to open a door? Terrible service."

"Superb location, within short walking distance to everywhere in downtown Calgary. Clean, modern, good customer service. Great breakfast with good customer service as well. Bottles of free mineral water available , kettle is provided upon request. Transit BRT300 bus stop from Calgary Airport right in front of the hotel, $4 single ride, very suitable for solo budget traveler."

"The hotel is very close to the airport and offers a free shuttle bus, which is convenient for early morning flights. The service is excellent, the environment is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is plentiful. Overall, a very satisfying stay."

"Had a delayed flight was able to book instantly with Trip.com. The front receptionist were very helpful and kind. I was extremely tired from my day. Without even asking they upgraded my room with a view. I was pleasantly surprised that not only do they have a whirlpool on their second floor but also a pool for you to enjoy. Had I know about this and been prepared for a swim I would have certainly enjoyed going for a dip."
