HaidelabachangsunwujiThe owner was incredibly kind. They helped pick us up and take us to the guesthouse, and even arranged transportation for us to and from the scenic area since we didn't have a car – a huge thank you! We were on a tight schedule, and to help us make the most of our time, the owner drove us to Observation Deck No. 2, so we could head straight back for dinner and check-in. The food was also delicious; I still miss those flavors! You can really tell the owner's taste from the decor and layout of the place. Every plant and flower was meticulously cared for, which is truly impressive. The guesthouse's decor is fantastic, very clean and hygienic. Both the common areas downstairs and the rooms are thoughtfully designed and well-maintained. There's even a bathtub, which I highly recommend. And the washer and dryer were lifesavers when we had to go out in the heavy rain! The breakfast was overly generous, and the cheese pudding and noodles/rice vermicelli were so good. My only regret is that we were in a hurry and couldn't finish everything – it was truly delicious! This is definitely a guesthouse we all agree we'd book again next time we visit!

Absolutely brilliant!
The hostess is super kind and responsive. Upon check-in she upgraded us to 180°-view room. The view from the balcony is amazing - the entire panorama just for us. Booking the room itself is worth it.
The room and the bathroom are spacious and spotless.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The bamboo rice, the braised tofu and bamboo shoots were very tasty.
We can share only our superlatives.

Guest UserStepping inside, I was immediately struck by the house itself; it truly felt like a 'breathing building,' with a gentle breeze constantly circulating. It was incredibly quiet, and I instantly felt myself relax. The room faced due east, making sunrise views absolutely spectacular. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and showering with mountain spring water in the smart bathroom was a treat. The cleanliness was divine – I didn't even mind walking barefoot on the floor. The personalized butler service was also very thoughtful, making it feel like staying at an old friend's house for a few days.

A hotel in Longsheng – an unforgettable view of the rice terraces. 🌾
Dates of stay: March 2026
Room type: Double with panoramic view
We stayed in the village of Dazhai, in a hotel right next to the rice terraces. And it was the best decision of the entire trip.
Out the window, you can see endless steps of terraces that descend into the mountains. In the morning, you wake up, open the curtains, and before you is mist creeping down the slopes, and somewhere below, the village is already waking up. This isn't just a room; it's a view you'll want to take pictures of every five minutes.
It's not yet the high season (we were there in March), so there were almost no tourists. It was quiet, just the birds and the sound of the wind. Some of the terraces above were already flooded, and when the sun came out, the water sparkled so brightly it was breathtaking.
The hosts were very hospitable. They picked us up from the bus stop and helped us with our luggage. The room was clean, with hot water—everything you need after a long day with varying weather. In the evening, we sat in the hotel restaurant, ordering local dishes. In the morning, we were served breakfast with local noodles.
Main life hack: get a room with a view of the terraces. The price difference is small, but the experience is much more powerful. Even if it's raining (and we had a downpour with thunderstorms), sitting under a blanket and watching the fog cover the mountains is a special pleasure.
The observation decks are easily accessible from here. We hiked up the ”Thousand Steps” (about 20 minutes) and took the lift to the ”Buddha Gate”—the views from there are incredible, especially when the water begins to shimmer in the sun.
If you want to see the terraces in their true, living beauty, rather than in the crowds, come in March or April. And be sure to stay here. Here you feel not like a tourist, but a guest in the mountains.

What truly stood out was the balcony and the breathtaking views from it; you can see vast rice terraces right from your room. The guesthouse is tucked away deep inside the village, making it a wonderfully peaceful and quiet spot. The owner is very accommodating; if they're available, they'll drive down to pick you up from the foot of the mountain, and for the return journey, an uncle will give you a ride back down on his motorbike. Do be prepared for mosquitoes and insects, as they are common in the mountains and might even get into your room. The guesthouse is conveniently located between two main viewpoints: it's a 15-minute walk to 'Thousand-Layer Terraces' and 20 minutes to 'Xishan Shaole'. I went to 'Thousand-Layer Terraces' every day to enjoy the scenery. Getting to 'Jinfoding Peak', however, requires careful navigation. I believe I missed an unmarked shortcut, which resulted in a much longer trek. It took me about an hour and a half of combined uphill and downhill hiking to reach 'Jinfoding Peak'. Even if I had found the shortcut, I estimate it would still take over an hour. The locals at the guesthouse claimed it only takes 40 minutes, but I suspect that's because they're familiar with the shortcuts and are in excellent physical condition. For anyone who isn't very fit, my strong advice is to take the cable car directly from the Dazhai car park to 'Jinfoding Peak' on your first day, explore it thoroughly, and then head down to the guesthouse.

Excellent location , in the Dazhai village center, easy 7 minute walk to the Dazhai parking lot for the cable car and the local buses to Ping'an and long hair show village (forgot the name). You can also walk to three observation platforms from the foothill to hilltop.
Room: spacious, clean, with all the amenities as described.
Hosts: a young couple with kids and mother, nice, welcoming people. Although they do not speak English, you can easily communicate via WeChat. They helped me with booking a bus to Guilin.
The hotel is recommended for nice views and local village experience.
I would like to have a menu, as well as a sketch map of the area with observation platforms, villages, hiking routes in English. Information on local events and local but routes/ schedules would also be helpful for non-Chinese tourists.

Guest UserThe unique wooden building, clean and simple rooms, and friendly service make people feel good. What I like the most is walking towards the observation deck at sunrise, every breath and breath is natural. After sunset, I sat in the lobby and chatted with people from all over the world. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay and I really enjoyed this slow lifestyle. Hahaha, I’ll come again next time😃

The owner was very welcoming. The hotel has a great location and was quite nice considering the previous renovation. However, the climb up the mountain is quite challenging. From the parking lot, it takes at least 20 minutes to climb up, which is really difficult without some stamina. The scenery along the way is beautiful. They are the hotel at the very top and the innermost part. Their bamboo chicken is truly free-range and very fragrant. I highly recommend trying it. The other dishes are also very delicious. There are two ways to get to the hotel, and the smaller one can be slippery in rainy weather.

Anonymous UserThe parking lot is under a hanging foot building. After parking, it takes three or four minutes to get to the hotel. It is very convenient. There is a very narrow and steep road. It is difficult to get a car. You have to whistle more.
The homestay is on the side of a large terrace, and it is not blocked. Compared with a higher-position homestay, you can better feel the three-dimensional sense of the terraces, and you can enjoy it on the balcony. You can walk directly into the terraces of the homestay's own private (that is, a large area in front of the homestay)
The first floor is the restaurant, breakfast and dinner taste good.
Hygienic and useless is quite clean, that is, remember to close the balcony window, otherwise it will attract various insects at night.
The only deduction point is the position set by the toilet. I don’t know if other rooms are like this, but the room I stayed in was almost attached to the wall on the right side of the squat toilet. It was completely impossible to squat like a normal squat toilet. I could stand sideways. In addition, the place where the toilet paper was placed was far from the pit. It's hard to get when you're squatting...

All these photos were taken from the balcony of the B&B! ! The owner of the B&B is very hospitable and the food is super delicious. I had to eat another bowl of my favorite noodle soup before leaving! With such a beautiful view and the friendly local Red Yao proprietress, we stayed one more night. Come on everyone, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, beyond words! ! !
