HhentelThe hotel faces the Senninfuro of Kawayu Onsen, and the location and scenery are unique! The hotel has a traditional Japanese wooden structure with shared washing and toilet facilities, its own Kawayu Onsen hot spring pool, and a public activity area.
The hotel is clean and hygienic, warm and homey, and has everything you need for going out, such as yukata, shawls, and slippers. The order includes one night and two meals, and the Western food is also delicious. The hotel owner can communicate well in English and can provide good guidance on itineraries and routes.
Let's focus on the location of the hotel. The hotel faces the Senninfuro directly, and the hot soup in winter is fairy-like, which has a unique flavor! It is worth staying overnight during the hiking trip to Kumano Kodo!

EEcho XUNThe room was a bit dated, but it was quite comfortable. The owner looked a bit like Li Zongsheng and could speak a little English. He was very welcoming. The town is small, so small that it's only about 100 meters from end to end. By the way, the B&B is next to the bus station, which is very convenient if you have a lot of luggage.

Its biggest highlight is the open-air mixed-gender bath overlooking Mount Iwo Jima, offering a rugged and unique view. The cuisine focuses on local specialties, but opinions on the taste are rather polarized. The downsides are that the facilities are generally old and have a vintage feel, and the cleanliness of some rooms is only average. It's suitable for onsen enthusiasts who appreciate a traditional atmosphere and convenient transportation.

JjackiethKumano Honno is the hometown of hot springs. It includes Tangzhifeng Hot Spring, Chuantang Hot Spring, and Duyu Hot Spring. Compared with the famous Chuantang Hot Spring, the Duyu Hot Spring Hotel we booked is more niche and quieter in a small mountain. The hotel has three floors, each floor is 10 and the foreign room. We arrived at the hotel at 1 pm. There was no regular told to check in after 3:00. We were very enthusiastic to help us check in and introduce the soup rules. The room is large, twin bed + tatami, facing the river bank, the window is cherry blossoms.
There are two hotels and four soup pools, you can soak, there is the largest open-air wind in Western Japan and the Japanese family special loan cut open-air wind.
The dinner was very delicate and the breakfast was very delicate.

GGuest UserThere are fewer restaurants near the hotel. You can go to the hot springs when you stay in the hotel. Although the facilities are very old, it is really comfortable to soak in the soup after hiking! ! The front desk does not speak English but the service attitude is very good, it is still very recommended

GGuest UserThe room was very clean. The landlady was kind and could communicate in Chinese using a translation software. I ordered her breakfast for 800 yen and it was very comfortable. I didn’t know what to choose from the meal. I just ate what she made and I was very satisfied. This B&B can pick you up from the station. I don’t speak Japanese, so I can only walk there. When I left, she drove me to the station. I liked it very much! The bus runs twice a day, and it’s difficult to take a taxi. The pick-up and drop-off is very pleasant.

GGuest UserKind of annex of the sister hotel next door. In the annex is an onsen, washing machine and dryer (free to use), vending machines with beer and drinks and noodles. Room is basic. I had a great view on the river. Small balcony, but dirty and no chair. The annex is okay to stay if you are hiking.
The best thing is the sister hotel. A great onsen with outdoor bath. Nice souvenir shop with a bit more food. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
They also provide bus services (bring and pickup to Hongu Taisha, the other onsen places, the trailhead busstop) which you can use! Just call them if you want to be picked up.
I did not realize Kawayu Onsen is a very small place with NO supermarket. If you did not book breakfast (served at the sister) bring your own into town or eat instant noodles.
There are 2 small restaurants with delicious local food.
