I booked a dbl room during winter trip and didn't want to haul my luggage in the freezing snow. Very convenient and literally acrosss the street from otaru station. Room is a bit old and small but I don't mind. Bathroom is clean. Towel is clean. Pillow is a bit small. Onsen was great. Lobby served fresh grounded coffee all day and night. 1 min walk to Lawson for late night cravings.

Served by a Sri Lankan hotel staff named Dilruk. Our check in was managed professionally by him. Had a pleasant check in procedure. However, the room wasn't cleaned properly when we checked in, hair was found left beside the bathtub. Concern was raised to a trainee hotel staff on the checkout date, he just said sorry that's it. I think there will be a better way in extending apologies on this matter.

This is a great hotel smack bang in the centre of Otaru, close to everything you need. The service was prompt and the hotel room nicely designed. The lights were lovely. Our favourite part was the outdoor onsen on the roof top which could get quite popular even at low season. Don't know how it would work in high season. Great value for money. Room had a good view too!

Very nice hotel, the lobby is big and nice, allow us to check in at 2 pm. There are some reception staff that can speak mandarin as well. We booked a room for 3 people with 3 single beds. The room is bigger than expected and the washroom is more spacious as compared to others I have stayed in before.
Pros is near the Otaru Canal, from the hotel just walk straight all the way will reach Otaru canal. Opposite the hotel there is a Lawson, convenient to buy stuff.
Cons is slightly far away from JR station and you will need to walk about 10 mins.

The hotel is in a very good location, on the hill next to the Ferris wheel, with great views, facing the cliffs and the sea. Due to its age, the hotel facilities are relatively old, but they are well maintained. The private bath in the room enjoys the sea view, which makes people linger. The service of the hotel is very old-fashioned and in place. If there is any shortcoming, it is that the quality of breakfast and dinner needs to be further improved.

Fantastic location overlooking the canals in Otaru.
Best thing about the hotel was having a separate bathroom and a separate toilet… Especially useful when travelling with families!
Gorgeous stained glass window and you can see the amazing sunset from the top floor as well
Reception was large and the front desk folk were very friendly and helpful.
Overall would highly recommend this hotel

I stayed here on a trip with my girlfriend whom I hadn't seen in a long time.
We came by car from Sapporo, and it was close to Otaru city, so there was a parking lot and it was easy to access.
My first impression was that it was luxurious for the price, and for a moment I thought I had come to the wrong hotel.
The room we stayed in was on the top floor, the 8th floor, and it was clean and had a great view.
For dinner, we had the 2,800 yen sashimi set meal.
Everything was fresh and delicious.
I was impressed by the garnish (like collagen) that I had never seen before.
There were two types of hot springs, and the open-air bath was especially good, but
There was only enough space for two people to sit, both inside and outside, so it was disappointing that there was no place to relax after the sauna.
In the end, there were so many people that I couldn't sit down after the cold bath, so I just sat in the area to wash my body.
I wish they had more chairs.
My trip with my girlfriend became a good memory.
Thank you.

FFahimnazeriI chose this guesthouse for its proximity to the train station and great value for the money, and I'm so glad I did! Even though it's a bit far from Sapporo city, the short 2-minute walk to the train station made getting around a breeze. The unit had everything I needed, including a washing machine and cooking essentials, which really made my stay comfortable. I definitely plan to book this guesthouse again for my next winter trip!
CchoiddonggoIt was really... really the best. It was nice to take a walk right in front of the Otaru Canal, and the staff were all kind and nice! When communication wasn't good, the staff used a translator to explain everything to me one by one, so I was able to enjoy my stay without any difficulties. I also liked the large public bath! The baths change every hour, so I could use both at night and in the morning! And the outdoor bath was really the best. It was really charming and nice when it snowed!!! And.. I left my wallet in a taxi on the way to Otaru Station after checking out, and I really, really want to thank the staff who came to find it for me as if it was their own business!! Thanks to them, I had good memories until the last day of my trip. 😍😍
IInn SIAA boutique style heritage building with high end art deco architecture designed hotel. Style, class of its own with high-tea style breakfast. The chef was of top-notch with well-balance crafted menus. The taste was exemplary good. I enjoyed the wine tasting too and love the OTARU dry white wine and OTARU beer. Lightings and ambiance atmosphere and helpful and friendly staff. Walking distance to heritage financial street and OTARU canals.
SShenghongThe location is in the residential area at the end of the small appendix, there are about 3 parking spaces, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the canal.
90% of the stores in Otaru's main shopping street close at 6 pm, and dining is less convenient and there are few choices.
The room has a large space, and the rest of the equipment is more Yangchun and there is no TV.
AAnanasGood location for those coming with a car, ample free parking provided. Near to Maxvalu, Daiso and a drugstore, Otaru museum and train related stuff and also fish market(pretty cute tho), just beside a Pakistan halal restaurant. Not so far from Otaru Canal, can walk for those counting their steps everyday.
ZZLStayed at Sho Inn for 1 night in Otaru. It’s a little out of the way from the Otaru station if you do not drive, but they offer shuttle service to the Otaru Canal and Otaru station when you check out! The host Hideshi was incredibly kind, even going the extra mile to bring my neck pillow, which I had accidentally left in the accommodation after check out, to the Otaru station at my preferred time that evening. It was a gesture testament of the great hospitality of the Japanese. Would definitely recommend this place especially if you’re a solo traveller / prefer your own private space instead of going to those hostels with double deckered beds and curtains!
LluxbabyYou can stay cheaply during the peak season in Hokkaido.
Parking is free, which is especially good for those traveling by rental car.
You can think of the interior as a caravan without a kitchen.
It's a bit cold on winter nights.
However, if you keep the heater on, it's fine.
MMaggieCheck in was smooth and they let us to store our luggage as we arrived early than 3pm. It has a big bed in the room but took up most of the space, so hard to lay out the suitcase. Bathroom was spacious and the shower was nice.
GGuest UserAdvantages: The natural environment is good, the surrounding green waters and green mountains, the air is fresh, and the stars can be seen at night.
Disadvantages: far from the city, there is a large hotel around the hotel that can provide catering services. There is no hair dryer in the room, no pot for boiling water (the hair dryer is shared at the front desk, and there is a water dispenser for boiling water in the corridor). There is no table in the room, it is not convenient to put things. The room type provided is different from the description of Trip.com (no sofa).
MMeiyu20As we arrive late, we are happy with the price and location plus free parking. Really value for money if you just need a place to sleep. Contactless check in, electronics Lady boss is friendly. If the bed condition(quality) can be upgraded will be perfect. (Didn’t get chance to take a room photo, use the nearby place for info)
