"The hotel is so lovely. There is a Lawson just literally 1 min walk away and the surroundings have eateries to fill your tummies if you don't feel like venturing out.
The location allows you to walk towards the Otaru Canal in less than 10 min. Very good location I would say.
The room we got is of a decent size for two, is clean and we even have a nice City/ Seaview. Parking lot is just beside the hotel hence great for those who drives to Otaru."

"We stayed for four nights, and the ski package we booked was a good deal. However, on the first day, the staff at the ski rental shop seemed a bit unfamiliar with the process, which caused us quite a bit of hassle.
The hotel's advantages are very clear. We chose it specifically for the convenient ski access. Every day, after skiing, being able to enjoy the hot springs before the crowds arrived was incredibly pleasant, especially since it was snowing during our stay, which made for a unique experience.
We had dinner at the restaurant a few times. Since we made same-day reservations, our choices were limited, and our dining times were somewhat restricted. Despite the limited selection, the dinner food was good and not expensive.
The downsides were also quite noticeable. Firstly, the moment I opened the toilet lid upon check-in, I found a curly hair, which was a real turn-off. It might have been an issue with the specific room we were assigned (this room was inexplicably next to the garbage room); the layout was a bit strange, and there were no bedside tables, which was very inconvenient.
I personally felt that the staff's service attitude was good, but my spouse mentioned that he used polite language when communicating with the front desk, and he was surprised that they did not reciprocate the same level of courtesy."

"We had such a great time here even though we only
spent one night here. The rooms were clean, and the service was really good. It's a bit of a walk from Otaru Station, but I would still consider the location as convenient because it's just right across Otaru Canal and walkable to many other sights and restaurants. The rooms were quite spacious by Japanese standards. Overall, we had a really great stay in this hotel and would definitely stay here again when we visit Otaru again in the future."

"The room was quiet and comfortable, and the location was super convenient, right by the canal downstairs. The on-site hot springs were also a fantastic experience! Definitely a perfect score! "Do NOT choose this hotel for skiing!! Unless it's half the price during the same period, I'll never pick this place again. Prioritize other hotels with shuttle buses to Otaru Station.
First, the location: This is Otaru-Chikko Station, two stops away from Otaru Station. The nearest convenience store is a 10-minute walk outside. Although there's a mall downstairs, its operating hours are 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, which is the only time you can use the indoor passage. Most restaurants close around 7 PM, so it's really inconvenient to find food after skiing.
Second, it's really old! The carpet in my room type was dirty, the bed was rock hard, and the pillow felt like a worn-out cotton pillow – small and flat. The worst part is that after sleeping, my head developed small bumps and became very itchy!! I don't know if it was fleas, but it made me scratch my head for the next few days. The hygiene is truly concerning.
This hotel has no coin-operated washing machines or laundry rooms, only individual dry cleaning, which is very expensive. This is super inconvenient for skiers staying for an extended period.
frankly, the only good thing about this hotel is the room size; everything else is a huge letdown."

"I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and included two bottles of water, coffee, and tea. While the view overlooked a blank space behind the building, the quality of the bed and pillows was excellent. I found the bathroom to be slightly larger than expected.
The reception area was spacious, and the staff were friendly and spoke English, which made communication easy. There were two breakfast options available: Western and Japanese. I personally chose the Japanese breakfast, priced at 3,000 Yen. The quality and portion were good.
The hotel is conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from Otaru JR Station, as well as Sakaimachi Hondori Street and Otaru Canal. Additionally, there is a convenience store directly across the street, along with several night restaurants. I did find the price a bit high, possibly due to the Otaru Snow Light Path Festival taking place during my stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its comfort and location."

GGuest UserThis was the best hotel of our trip. From check-in to check-out, we felt the warmth and saw the smiles of the staff throughout. The included dinner was delicious and exquisite. The set breakfast was also pretty good. The hotel offers a variety of entertainment activities and facilities, so you won't get bored at all, and the environment is beautiful. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; you can hear doors opening and closing from upstairs and next door.

There are three shopping streets, not just the single few-hundred-meter canal often mentioned in travel guides.
The Sankaku Seafood Market to the left of the station looks much more appetizing than many other places.
Heavy snowfall actually makes it less ideal for exploring all of Otaru.
The hotel offers a candlelight performance at night, which sets a romantic mood. Paying an extra 200 for that isn't unreasonable.
Hotel downside: The room has a lot of motion-sensor lights. If you get up half-asleep at night, they suddenly all switch on, making it as bright as day. You can't turn them off; you just have to wait for them to go out on their own.

SScudLimCozy Inn is superb, can easily be reached by bus or by car. Plenty of parking spaces. Room is big and clean. Close to Aeon and Daiso. Walkable to the canal if you are not driving. Check in uses machine and strictly only after 3pm, so do not come early. Overall, I highly recommend!

Hygiene: Clean and tidy.
Environment: The small window in the room is surprising, and it feels like an oil painting when you look out.
The location is far from Otaru Station/Otaru Canal/Otaru South Station, etc. You need to take a bus to get there. There is a bus stop less than 1 minute away from the hotel. It is relatively close to Tengu Mountain and can be reached on foot. The hotel host provides pick-up and drop-off services to the above-mentioned places during the time period of 16:00-22:00.

The front desk service was just okay, nothing special. The room itself was clean and tidy, but when we turned on the heater, there was a strong, persistent kerosene smell that was really unpleasant.

After checking in at the front desk, I couldn't find it until I turned around... it felt a bit like sleeping in a guardhouse. The soundproofing isn't great either. Because of its peculiar location, it gets very noisy in the mornings. And the room next door seems to be a staff office, which also generates a lot of noise. However, the room was warm and clean, perfect for a night's sleep, and the price was excellent. The only downside is that it didn't have a private bathroom. The common areas were clean and there was even coffee available, which was a pleasant touch.

GGuest UserIf you are not driving, this place is a best place to stay with as overall house amenities are comfortable, modern and feeling good.
But for anyone driving there, do consider again as the journey towards to the carpark are slippery, more than 10degree slope, it is dangerous and scarry to me eventhough equipped with snow tyre even though for myself that have been driving in many countries in Europe, Asia and Australia.

GGuest UserFacilities: The elevator was out of order when we checked in. Whether it was due to our arrival time or not, carrying our luggage up to the third floor was quite tiring. On a positive note, the bed was a good size, larger than typical Japanese hotel beds.
Location: It's a 10-minute walk from Otaru JR Station and very convenient for accessing the canal.
Check-in: The check-in process was electronic, requiring us to fill out information and review instructions beforehand.
