Outstanding
MM519193****Super satisfied! There is a special butler who is responsible for your diet and other arrangements every day. It is a Vietnamese lady. The English is very fluent. It will also have a little Chinese. The service is very good.
Especially worth mentioning is that the dinner is particularly good. The ingredients are fresh. All kinds of seafood lobster sashimi. The abalone is oversized. The taste is really good. The price is full.
Our room type is a balcony with foot soup. It is very special. It is very comfortable to watch the maple leaves in the courtyard.
The hotel has private soup and public soup. Private soup needs to be reserved at one time every day. Free tea every day. Ice cream and milk are provided.
The only possible location is relatively remote. It is not convenient for tourists who are not self-driving. There is no reception at the front desk when we first entered the check-in, which caused us to find a long time.
But the whole is really good, very recommended
SSarah GraceWe had an amazing 1 night stay at Shizentenyu... i'm still dreaming about the view from our room and the restaurant... amazing!!! We didn't realize that our room included a full 7-course set dinner menu, which was one of the highlights from our trip! The service was impecable, food delicious, and a huge thank-you to Alfie who guided us through our set menu in English. We would have been very confused without him. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, the Onsen lovely, we appreciated the lounge with free coffee, tea, beer, and popsicles. We also braved the steep walk down to the private beach and went for a refreshing swim! We wish we could have stayed longer!
GGuest UserOverall the location was great and there was a direct sea view from most of the rooms and the onsen. Some of the facilities are slightly dated. Whilst it is very costly, i do feel overall that stay was still within expectations. The biggest disappointment for me was the dinner where the steam fish served was not as fresh. Despite the feedback provided to the hotel, they could not do any service recovery and simply kept repeating that they could not do anything. This goes against the great Japanese service I have always encountered everywhere I go in Japan
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in Izu Atagawa, two stops below Izu Kogen. The hotel provides a shuttle service. The hotel's lights are decent at night, but most areas are pitch black. During the day, you can see the ocean within a one- or two-minute walk. The hotel room is large and offers excellent value. The double bed is spacious and clean. The bathroom is a bit small. There are two hot springs, one open-air and one indoor. Bathing costs an additional 600 yen.
MMonmenmingOverall, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel gave me a high-floor room, and the view was absolutely incredible! I'd definitely go back just for that ocean view. It's so photogenic!
The only downside is that the hotel rooms are a bit old, but considering it's a decades-old hotel, that's understandable. The smell when you enter the room is like that of a straw mat, not an unpleasant odor.
What I highly recommend are dinner and breakfast, especially dinner—it was amazing! Incredibly delicious, and they had bluefin tuna belly, which was super fresh! I also got to try Izu's specialty, Kinmedai (splendid alfonsino). During dinner, staff would come to help us lay out the futons, which felt very cozy. I slept incredibly well, and the free onsen at the hotel is also highly recommended!
GGuest UserThis is a bit worn out and simple hotel. The best things were the extremely friendly and helpful staff, as well as the super delicious dinner & breakfast that was included in the price. I ate maybe the most delicious croissant ever here. The variety and the quality of food was great. Things to improve are the facilities, especially the onsen. It’s very small but more importantly, it wasn’t well maintained and there was no emergency button. When my mom felt like fainting, it wasn’t possible to call for help.
Also the air conditioner in the room was very loud, making it difficult to sleep. All in all, good stay.
GGuest UserWe had a delicious and fun time with the family.
The private beach was also wonderful. If it was summer swimming season, the waves would be calm and it would be easy for children to play there.
It was the last weekend of March during spring break, but the hotel was well thought out and didn't feel crowded, which was nice.
The freshly fried tempura in the dining area and the fried bread for breakfast were very popular and delicious. However, the smell of oil permeated the yukata and hair I was wearing, so I felt like taking a bath and washing my hair again after the meal. I think it would be difficult, but if the ventilation environment was good, it would be perfect! That's how I felt.
GGuest UserThe hotel is right by the sea. The view from the window of the room is very beautiful. Dinner and breakfast are complete and delicious. There is an outdoor onsen upstairs of the hotel. And there is a private onsen as well. The staff are willing to serve even though they can't speak English. But try to communicate with the guests Overall worth the price paid.
LLThe staff are very polite and always willing to help. The room is big and comfortable. The sound-proof work is also effective, so I hardly hear any noise from rooms nearby.
However, note that the hotel is in the middle of a mountain. If you don’t drive, you have to rely on the car service which the hotel offers (free of charge but not always available). It is almost impossible to go by foot.
However, I must say the hotel staff has always tried their best to cater your needs, which I appreicate very much.
