On the recommendation of close friends, we chose to try Padma Hotel Semarang for our stay in Semarang, and we absolutely did not regret it. We truly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was extensive and delicious, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the gym was beautiful, and the coffee and pastries at Goolali were also of excellent quality. Combined with the beautiful entrance and the warm atmosphere of the hotel, it created a very pleasant overall experience. What stood out the most to us, however, was the outstanding service from the staff. We would especially like to thank Mr. Syahrul for his professionalism and friendly service during breakfast. One small point for improvement would be the speed of the Wi-Fi, especially when using YouTube on the television. We certainly hope to return next year, hopefully for a longer stay.

The breakfast here is truly the best – when you're in Semarang, you really don't need to go searching for food, everything is available at breakfast, it's perfect! ❤️❤️ It's absolutely the best! The service and hospitality are top-notch. We even requested decorations for Father's Day, and they helped decorate the room so beautifully and wonderfully. ❤️ All the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the room is incredibly comfortable, no doubt about it.

I booked a room with a view of Semarang city from my room, but unfortunately, it was obstructed by hotel decorations. So the view was only visible through small gaps. Maybe it's because of the promotional price? Everything else was okay though.

I always choose this hotel whenever I visit the area, and once again it provided an excellent experience. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its convenient location directly connected to a shopping mall, making it extremely easy to access restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and various stores without needing transportation. The hotel offers great value for money, with clean and comfortable rooms, good facilities, and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff members are consistently friendly, professional, and willing to assist whenever needed. Their warm hospitality always makes guests feel welcome and appreciated. Overall, this hotel continues to meet my expectations every time I stay here. The combination of convenience, affordability, and excellent service makes it one of my favorite places to stay. I highly recommend it to both business and leisure travelers and look forward to returning again on my next visit.

Excellent Location: The hotel is situated in a prime location in downtown Semarang, offering incredibly convenient transportation access to the Old Town (Kota Lama), popular attractions, and shopping malls. It's a top choice for both business travelers and tourists. High Standard of Service and Dining: The staff were exceptionally warm and professional right from check-in. I especially want to praise their breakfast – the variety was impressive, with a wide selection of local Indonesian flavors and Western dishes, all prepared with great care. Well-Equipped Facilities, Though Showing Some Age: The room was spacious, and the bedding was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. While it's clear the hotel has been around for a while and the decor is more classic and traditional, the overall cleanliness was spotless, and maintenance was excellent. The hotel's pool and gym were also very clean, perfect for relaxing after a busy day.

Great experience! The location is prime, right in the heart of Semarang, and the hospitality was exceptional. For art lovers, this hotel is quite appealing as it boasts an art gallery. And the food at the Fat Elephant restaurant was great also. Highly recommended!

This attention to detail extended to my room, which was impeccably clean. The sheets were crisp, the bathroom sparkled, and there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere. It's always a relief to know you're staying in a place that prioritizes hygiene, and this hotel clearly does. Beyond just cleanliness, the overall quality of the hotel was excellent. The decor was modern and tasteful, the furnishings were comfortable, and the amenities provided were thoughtful and well-chosen. Everything from the comfortable bed to the high-speed Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, contributing to a truly comfortable stay. What truly set this hotel apart was how easy everything was. Plus: Friendly staff at lobby, reception and restaurant. Helpful staff at Obsidian who helped reheat our food although bought from outside 🙏👍 Location is strategic - near to the mall and walking distance old town tourist attraction. Minus: The touchless elevator buttons were too sensitive. The lift at all floors lit when hand came near. It caused the slowing down due to stopping at each floor and prolonged guests waiting time especially during peak hours. Sound proof was not effective- the loud noise from traffic, exercise dance music from nearby square was truly disturbing during night and morning. Restaurant is quite small. Hard to find a seat during breakfast time.

The hotel is quite old and very big, but everything is still well-maintained and in good condition. It offered good value for money for three people plus a friend. We enjoyed beautiful views of Mount Ungaran every morning. The breakfast was delicious, with a different menu offered daily – absolutely fantastic! One thing that made us quite reluctant to move was the incredibly long walk from the reception to the elevators. The restaurant is also quite a trek from the elevators, which is understandable given how massive this hotel is. If you're staying alone, I wouldn't recommend this hotel; you might get the creeps walking around by yourself, haha! However, if you're with a big group and kids, it's fine and not spooky. But precisely because the hotel is so huge, the distances to the elevators and restaurant are considerable, and it can feel incredibly deserted! 😭😭😱😱

Nice Stay with Great Location and Local Vibes I stayed at Surya Boutique Hotel Semarang and overall had a pretty good experience. The location is great — super close to both Poncol and Tawang train stations, so it's really convenient if you're catching a train. There's also an Indomaret and Alfamart nearby, plus tons of street food at night. The nasi goreng and bakmi Jawa around the area were seriously good! Not far from the hotel, there's an old mosque built in 1802 is really beautiful and full of history. It’s a reminder that Semarang used to be an important port city, visited by Arab and Chinese traders. Worth a quick visit if you're into cultural spots. The only downside was the receptionist during check-in , she didn’t smile and wasn’t very welcoming, which was a bit disappointing. But later in the day and the next morning, a different receptionist was on duty and she was really lovely and friendly, which made up for it. Breakfast was okay for a 2-star hotel , simple but enough. Just a heads-up: there’s no hot water kettle in the room, so if you need hot water, you might need to ask the front desk. All in all, it’s a good place if you’re looking for a convenient and affordable stay in Semarang with some nice local flavor. Hope they keep improving!
