"The service was friendly and efficient. This is a budget hotel, so I can't really complain too much. However, overall, the room wasn't tidy. There was a door in the room, I'm not sure if it was for pipes or electrical, but usually, those are outside the room. The sealant around the sink was poorly done. When I checked in, the sheets and pillows were yellowish – I'm not sure if they had been changed. But the service was good enough; they quickly changed them when asked. The view from the window was just a wall, and it was dark even during the day. The hotel wasn't clean; there were drink spills everywhere, and fingerprints on the glass doors. For those on a tight budget, staying here is okay, but if you have more to spend, there are better options elsewhere."

"Staying here was great, it's close to many malls and food options. The only downside was the slow refilling of items. Breakfast starts at 6 AM, but by 6:30 AM, some dishes were already gone and it took a while for them to be replenished. Swimming pool is still available."

"It was an awesome experience in Aruss. I would like to commend the very helpful employees, everyone was so nice and welcoming. Hotel is near supermarket making it really convenient on buying your food or late night snacks however, its quite far from malls and other landmarks. During ramdaman, it took us few minutes to book a taxi, whether gojek or bluebird and the fare rate shoot up when non-peak hours. I would appreciate if the pool is heated and if the sauna will be placed outside the gym. But all in all, I love my stay in Aruss hotel and I will definitely comeback."

"Honestly, the hotel room and location are really strategic and satisfying. However, don't bother with breakfast; it's a disaster. The space is cramped, the food isn't good, and the quality is worse than a 3-star hotel. My advice is to just book for a night's stay and eat breakfast elsewhere."

"This hotel definitely wins on location! It's right across from DP Mall, so finding food and doing some window shopping is super easy – just a stone's throw away from the mall, haha. Everything else, like the facilities and breakfast, is super minimalist. But for 300k/night with breakfast, it's fair for the price. This hotel gets crazy expensive during high season, LOL! 😁😁"

"The hotel was comfortable, the rooms were clean, the service was great and friendly, and I especially got a room with a city view. The super-fast Wi-Fi was a huge help when I was working on a deadline. There are plenty of food stalls and restaurants around the hotel. "On my frequent business trips to Semarang, I always stay at the PO Hotel, which is conveniently located next to Paragon Mall. It's a 5-star hotel in the city center, offering a nice staycation experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and for dinner, I just walk to PG Mall through the connected doorway. The breakfast menu is also comprehensive and delicious. My suggestion for PO Hotel would be to upgrade the TVs to smart TVs and add more local channels, specifically Anteve and Indosiar, if possible."

On the recommendation of close friends, we chose to try Padma Hotel Semarang for our stay in Semarang, and we absolutely did not regret it. We truly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was extensive and delicious, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the gym was beautiful, and the coffee and pastries at Goolali were also of excellent quality. Combined with the beautiful entrance and the warm atmosphere of the hotel, it created a very pleasant overall experience. What stood out the most to us, however, was the outstanding service from the staff. We would especially like to thank Mr. Syahrul for his professionalism and friendly service during breakfast. One small point for improvement would be the speed of the Wi-Fi, especially when using YouTube on the television. We certainly hope to return next year, hopefully for a longer stay.

Tried out a new hotel that went viral. It's located right in the old town area. Perhaps because it's new, the cleanliness, facilities, and service are still well-maintained. The room was comfortable and very nice. Unfortunately, it uses standard air conditioning (not indoor air conditioning), so it feels like a regular room.

This was my first time staying at Khas Semarang. I arrived around 12 pm and the hotel was very crowded because there was an event that day. The staff told me check-in was only at 2 pm, which is fine, but the problem was there were basically no seats available in the lobby to wait. They suggested I sit in the restaurant instead. Honestly that felt a bit strange since it’s Ramadan and people are fasting. Anyway, as a local I didn’t really mind, so I just went to Paragon Mall which is about 10 minutes away to kill some time. The room itself was quite clean and had all the basic amenities, so no issue there. For sahur, I requested breakfast to be delivered at 3 am. It only arrived around 3:30 am. When I asked the staff why it was late, they said they had to deliver to more than 20 rooms first. That made me wonder why they don’t just open a simple sahur buffet to make things easier for everyone. The soto was actually nice, but unfortunately it was already cold by the time it arrived. Food overall was decent. One thing I like about this hotel is the location. There are quite a few nice cafés around and many of them are open 24 hours, so it’s easy to find somewhere to hang out late at night if you want.

Very clean room and a very new hotel. The space in front of the bed is a bit limited, but I honestly did not mind at all. The location is convenient, situated above a mall, and the TV is a smart TV so you can watch YouTube. Do note that if you are dropped off by taxi at the mall entrance, there is an additional IDR 5,000 charge due to the mall’s policy. Overall, I was satisfied with the stay and felt it was good value for the price paid.

Clean, tidy, and excellent service. My only complaint is the breakfast restaurant – it's far too small for the number of guests. The aisles are tiny, and the tables are crammed together. To get a decent spot, you have to endure the sun. The food itself is fine, but the restaurant's layout is a major issue. Keep up the good work!

Excellent Location: The hotel is situated in a prime location in downtown Semarang, offering incredibly convenient transportation access to the Old Town (Kota Lama), popular attractions, and shopping malls. It's a top choice for both business travelers and tourists. High Standard of Service and Dining: The staff were exceptionally warm and professional right from check-in. I especially want to praise their breakfast – the variety was impressive, with a wide selection of local Indonesian flavors and Western dishes, all prepared with great care. Well-Equipped Facilities, Though Showing Some Age: The room was spacious, and the bedding was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. While it's clear the hotel has been around for a while and the decor is more classic and traditional, the overall cleanliness was spotless, and maintenance was excellent. The hotel's pool and gym were also very clean, perfect for relaxing after a busy day.

This is my third time staying at Metro Park View and the experience was very good as always. The staff were kind enough to allow me to check in after 12 pm without having to wait until 2 pm because the room was already ready. I was also pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade which was really appreciated. The service throughout the stay was excellent. The staff were friendly helpful and professional. Since I stayed during Ramadan the sahur breakfast was also very good with a nice selection of food and everything prepared well and on time. It made the early morning meal comfortable and enjoyable. The room was clean comfortable and well maintained which made it easy to rest after a long day outside. Overall the hotel atmosphere feels calm and welcoming. The location is another big advantage. There is a Ramadan bazaar right next door which is very convenient during the fasting month. Around the hotel there are also many cafes and places to eat so it is easy to find food or just relax outside. Honestly I cannot think of any complaints or negative points about this stay. Everything was smooth and pleasant. If you are visiting Semarang I would definitely recommend booking this hotel.

The hotel design was aesthetic and can see javanese culture.. Love it. My kids also love the hotel and the staff is really friendly. The service also excellent. Oh ya, the breakfast buffet is great and kids meal friendly . Will stay here again in the future 🥰🥰

Nice Stay with Great Location and Local Vibes I stayed at Surya Boutique Hotel Semarang and overall had a pretty good experience. The location is great — super close to both Poncol and Tawang train stations, so it's really convenient if you're catching a train. There's also an Indomaret and Alfamart nearby, plus tons of street food at night. The nasi goreng and bakmi Jawa around the area were seriously good! Not far from the hotel, there's an old mosque built in 1802 is really beautiful and full of history. It’s a reminder that Semarang used to be an important port city, visited by Arab and Chinese traders. Worth a quick visit if you're into cultural spots. The only downside was the receptionist during check-in , she didn’t smile and wasn’t very welcoming, which was a bit disappointing. But later in the day and the next morning, a different receptionist was on duty and she was really lovely and friendly, which made up for it. Breakfast was okay for a 2-star hotel , simple but enough. Just a heads-up: there’s no hot water kettle in the room, so if you need hot water, you might need to ask the front desk. All in all, it’s a good place if you’re looking for a convenient and affordable stay in Semarang with some nice local flavor. Hope they keep improving!
