Piazza Hotel Nara

I booked a king-sized room, and it looked just like the pictures, meeting my expectations perfectly. The bed was large enough, and there were both soft and firm pillows. The hotel is visible right from the West Exit of JR Nara Station. You don't even need to go downstairs; you can just walk directly across the sky bridge. The hotel's front desk is on the LB floor; turn right after exiting the elevator. We arrived before check-in time, so we went to the front desk to store our luggage. After we returned, we asked to retrieve our luggage and check in. Check-in is done at a machine; if you speak Japanese, you can do it yourself, otherwise, a staff member might need to guide you. The elevator requires a key card, and once you swipe it, it automatically selects your floor, which is quite convenient as you don't have to press the button manually. Our room was on the 8th floor, and the hotel fulfilled all the requests I made during booking. I'm not sure if it was because it was the off-season and there weren't many people, but we barely saw any other guests. We didn't hear any noise from the hallway or outside the window, so soundproofing wasn't an issue at all. The bathroom was spacious, and naturally, it had a smart toilet. The lighted vanity mirror was very convenient for applying and removing makeup. The drawers were well-stocked with toiletries, though the toothbrushes were very hard and might make your gums bleed. I recommend bringing your own toothbrush if possible, or buying one at Lawson downstairs. The shower room didn't have a bathtub, which is more typical for Chinese preferences, and it also had a small stool. The hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo were all from POLA, and they were quite pleasant to use. The room had a desk perfect for working, but the only drawback was the lack of power outlets, only USB ports, which made charging inconvenient. Perhaps there were some, and we just didn't find them. Also, there was no full-length mirror in the room. The hotel's breakfast area is next to the front desk, just a short walk away. You give your voucher to the staff, and they give you a card, which you return after you finish eating. You don't need to clean up after yourself; just leave the dishes on the table and go. The breakfast selection wasn't as extensive as in China, lacking even basic fried eggs. In terms of RMB, it felt a bit pricey, but for Japan, the cost was reasonable. There were breads, pastries, some fruits, snacks, and a wide variety of drinks, so you could certainly get a full meal. If you have a busy morning schedule, I recommend having breakfast at the hotel. I would definitely want to stay here again on my next trip to Nara!

The room was amazing, and breakfast was a pleasant surprise too. It offers great value for money and is definitely a hotel I'd return to repeatedly. The only minor drawback was that since I booked a family room, there was no window, and the facilities didn't quite match the price.

This hotel is excellent, right next to Nara Station, just a few minutes' walk to the shopping street, making dining, drinking, and shopping incredibly convenient. It's also not far from Nara Park, Todai-ji Temple, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine; you just need to walk through the shopping street to get there. The front desk staff are warm and professional, and the room facilities are very new, clean, and tidy. The breakfast is extensive, and they even had lychees! As for the price, it's absolutely fantastic value – you get four-star facilities and service for a three-star price.
