This is the best stay I’ve ever stayed It’s a family run pension with two super friendly golden retrievers, the whole house is newly built, extremely clean, and decorated with good taste The dinner and breakfast are western- Japanese fusion, everything is homemade, definitely worth trying There is a nice and clean private onsen, or you can take a bus to have a day trip to other bigger onsen Minakami itself is a countryside area, and the pension is right next to the bus station There is literally nothing around the stay, so you need to get everything you need in Minakami station, but I think it’s a characteristic rather than disadvantage

What impressed me most was the excellent breakfast and dinner! I highly recommend staying at this onsen hotel when visiting Gunma. The main dish for dinner was sukiyaki, which was delicious, and each dish was prepared with great care. The food here is really tasty! This time, I stayed in a room with a private open-air onsen bath. The onsen quality here is very high; the spring water isn't heated, allowing you to soak while enjoying the view of Mount Tanigawa. The service was impeccable in every detail, including specially provided pajamas and decaffeinated roasted tea served at night. The next morning, you can also enjoy complimentary coffee while admiring Mount Tanigawa again.

The facilities and rooms were very good. I still want to use it. Thank you very much.

Worth the price if you’re looking for authentic Japanese food and ryokan experience. Comfy private indoor onsen. The staff are really nice and can communicate in English via good translate. They has a shuttle to Minakami Station when we checked out.

I stayed for one night in late November. The autumn leaves were a disappointing time at the final stage. The tofu kaiseki dishes were delicious, delicious and colorful. The hotels and inns around were closed and I felt lonely in the scenery, recommended for those who want to enjoy bath and cooking.

Overall, it's clean and tidy. There's a step up at the entrance, but shoes are allowed inside, so be aware of that. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, and the last bus leaves early, so those looking for a room without meals should consider their options.
