Zazan Minakami ★★★

📍 Obinata 573, Minakami

"Even though I stayed there for one night with my family, the service was the worst at Kinkaku, which is not cheap. The private open-air bath is dirty and shaky, and the foreigners are very kind, but the employees use the same toilet as the guests and leave without washing their hands.T^TThe food and everything else is disappointing. did. Nothing to see other than the exterior"

Minakami Hotel Juraku

Minakami Hotel Juraku ★★★

📍 665 Yubara, Tone District, Minakami

"We went with my daughter, who will soon be 2 years old, and my grandparents! Just like last time, all the staff greeted us with smiles and kindness, so we felt good from the start. Also, this time was the 100th anniversary, so we were able to enjoy the free flow at any time! Personally, I was disappointed that the ramen shop was closed at night lol I will definitely come again!"

📍 120 Yubiso, Minakami

"Overall, it's clean and tidy. There's a step up at the entrance, but shoes are allowed inside, so be aware of that. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, and the last bus leaves early, so those looking for a room without meals should consider their options."

Minakami Onsen Aratashi Minakami

Minakami Onsen Aratashi Minakami ★★★★

📍 740-3 Yubara, Minakami

"For a hotel on the water, it's quite new. The decor and facilities are modern and minimalist. The rooms are spacious, with private hot spring baths on the balconies. The mattresses are so comfortable I want to buy the same ones. The food is okay, but the Japanese breakfast isn't very filling. The nearest convenience store is about 300 meters away, which is convenient. The first-floor public bath area is small, and the view is mostly obstructed by latticework, which is a waste of such a good location."

"2 bunk bed, include very proper breakfast, best view and ski ground inside the hotel, Try the outdoor onsen in winter so amazing"

📍 551 Yubara, Minakami

"Stayed here for 2 nights. Breakfast was good, but what was really great was the dinner. There are big strawberries. There was unlimited sweetness to eat. It was really great. On the first day of our stay, there was no snow at all. But on the second day, after traveling to the ski resort, when we returned to the hotel, we found snow in front of the hotel and inside the hotel, maybe 1 foot high. Very beautiful, impressive. The first day of showering was outdoors and the atmosphere was very refreshing. Think about soaking in warm mineral water in an atmosphere of 0 degrees. On the second day, you can take an indoor shower because the weather is minus 3 degrees, so it's better to take a shower indoors. The staff took very good care of us, like close relatives. Ask anything, I can answer it all. Recommend only good things The waiters were very attentive. In conclusion, I got a full score for this trip."

"First time in Gunma. Originally planned to go to Ikaho after Kusatsu Onsen, I saw a tweet by chance and changed to Relais & Chateaux member hotel, Minakami Onsen – Senjuan. I have stayed in so many hot spring hotels, and Senjuan can be said to have the best service. When I arrived at the hotel, tea and snacks were served separately according to the convention. At this time, the waiter took out four pens and five ballpoint pens for you to choose, which was a full sense of ceremony. Going to the room, Ohbasan tried his best to introduce various facilities in English along the way. Each room has a private open-air hot spring, mini-bar soft drinks are free, and equipped with various teas and capsule coffee. There is a reading room and a rest area in the hotel garden, with free drinks and desserts. I went to the reading room for a walk and was ready to leave. The waiter was afraid that I didn’t know that I could order and chased me to the door to ask if I needed a drink. For dinner, everyone had a room, and I was arranged in a glass room like a tree house. After dinner, I returned to the room. The bed was already made, and different embroidery patterns were provided according to the season. It is worth mentioning that the tea and teapot prepared at night are different from those during the day. They even prepared fruits and midnight snacks. The cakes were placed in the steamer, and the time was set. You just had to press start. There were free drink time periods in the morning and evening, with juice, milk, tea and various alcoholic beverages. If you are interested, you can also use a telescope to observe the starry sky or the nearby Southern Alps. The season was a bit awkward this time, and there was only some snow left in the courtyard. If you come in late winter or midsummer, it must be very beautiful. An open-air hot spring in the snow, just thinking about it makes your life complete~"

Houshi Onsen Chojukan

Houshi Onsen Chojukan ★★★★

📍 650 Nagai, Tone District, Minakami

"There was a special feature on hot springs with a special feel, and this hot spring was featured, so I took a bus from Jomo Kogen. I thought that everyone was coming by car and we were the only ones on the bus when we came and left. This inn is located deep in the mountains and has the feel of a hidden hot spring, and the mixed bathing Houshi-no-yu has a nice atmosphere. The room had nice tiles and lighting in the sink. The food was not typical of a meal deep in the mountains, but the Joshu Beef Plan was delicious. Taking care of the meals was also very helpful and made me feel good."

"It was a nice, clean inn. There were many different services available, and I regret not checking in sooner. The food was also very delicious."

"This is an inn where you can really feel the Japanese atmosphere. With the lake stretching out before you, you can wake up in the morning in a pleasant mood. For breakfast, we had rice with rice toppings and seasonal vegetables."

"My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 30th year of employment. The first thing that impressed us was the dinner we had upon arrival. The sashimi platter, braised Shimonita pork, a small hotpot of conger eel, grilled sweetfish, and stone-grilled Joshu beef sirloin were all delicious. My wife, who is usually quiet, commented, "I feel like I'm enjoying the most delicious beef I've ever had in my life." The room was also cozy and spacious, like a living room. The view from the window and the sound of the babbling river were soothing. The hot spring water left my skin feeling smooth, and the view from the open-air bath, surrounded by the forest and the sound of the river, created wonderful memories for us. On the way back, we stopped off at Doai Station, Japan's most popular mole station, which I'd always wanted to visit, and it was a fun trip. I'd like to return in a different season. Thank you for your hospitality."

Pension Asanebou Hotels in Minakami

Pension Asanebou

"This is the best stay I’ve ever stayed It’s a family run pension with two super friendly golden retrievers, the whole house is newly built, extremely clean, and decorated with good taste The dinner and breakfast are western- Japanese fusion, everything is homemade, definitely worth trying There is a nice and clean private onsen, or you can take a bus to have a day trip to other bigger onsen Minakami itself is a countryside area, and the pension is right next to the bus station There is literally nothing around the stay, so you need to get everything you need in Minakami station, but I think it’s a characteristic rather than disadvantage"

"I participated in an event, and the private open-air bath was amazing. There is a large public bath, but it is undeniably old, so although it must be difficult to manage, I would be happy if they could improve it. Specifically, I would like the bath to be a little bigger and the space to be a little more open. I went there without doing any research, so I found out later that there was also a bath on the mountainside, and I would like to use that next time. Also, breakfast was a buffet, and it was delicious. The stewed offal in particular was so delicious that I had to have seconds. You can camp in the spring and summer, and there is a well-equipped washing area, so you can see the effort that has gone into it. In winter, there is a ski resort right in front, so it seems like there are many different activities to do, and it seems like a hotel I would like to use again."

"The triple room feels newly built, and the equipment is newer than the Japanese-style room. It seems that most of the guests who come here are for the private lake view hot spring on the top floor, or maybe because of the cold wave, the two large baths are almost unused, and the few times they are used are reserved. Although it is written that only the large bath on the third floor has an open-air bath, in fact, the large bath on the first floor also has an open-air hot spring. It is really a special flavor to soak in a hot spring in the heavy snow."

"Feel like home is an old-fashioned ryokan, but the interior looks clean and modern. The owner takes good care of you like you are family. There is a large public bath separated for men and women. The room is large and not cramped. If I come again, I will book here again. Recommended."

"The place was clean and the hot springs were great, but when we arrived for dinner, which was supposed to start at 6:30 pm, it wasn't ready. We were kept waiting, and even after being seated, it took over 30 minutes for the shabu-shabu pot and meat to arrive... some people waited for an hour. The website showed luxurious tempura and other dishes, but all we got was shabu-shabu, sushi, simmered dishes, and jelly. Breakfast was also disappointing, and this was with two meals included, costing over 10,000 yen per person compared to a room-only stay! And to top it all off, there were only about five staff members, so I wonder how they plan to get through a public holiday... All the staff were foreigners, and their Japanese was broken. It was heartbreaking to see one person working so hard and apologizing. It's such a shame, especially since they said they were trying to make a living by renovating a closed-down inn."

"Overall I'm glad I stayed there. It happened to be when the fireworks were being displayed, so perhaps I enjoyed it even more than usual. I thought most of the food at the buffet was delicious. I particularly liked the fresh-squeezed orange juice machine that was provided at breakfast. Most of the staff were foreigners, but they were quick and efficient, which was nice."

"It was very good. Some people have written, ``Mixed bathing is no longer a culture that should be protected!'', but I think if you don't like it, you just don't have to go. If all hot springs were mixed bathing, I could understand this opinion. This person also wrote, ``Most people don't know the rules for mixed bathing,'' but this person's rules are personal. It's not good to impose your own values on others. I really thought that this kind of person would cause harassment. It's a very nice hot spring, so be careful not to run into people like this. I would like to continue to enjoy mixed bathing."
