You guys, you have no idea! My very first time staying in a cabin, having a BBQ, soaking in a spacious communal bath, and cycling through the mountains in Karuizawa was just incredible. All the toiletries were Pola, and they even provided a curling iron! I absolutely loved it! At night, stepping out of the cabin to use the restroom in the main lodge, I looked up, and the night sky was absolutely ablaze with stars 🌃🌟. It was truly breathtaking!

This was my first time staying at the Karuizawa Marriott Hotel. The public onsen has both indoor and outdoor baths, and while the facilities were clean, the area was a bit small. The room itself was very spacious, clean, and the environment was quiet. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. Highly recommended!

They kindly upgraded our room on the day of arrival! The location was super convenient for getting anywhere, and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed the private bath, which had flexible hours.
There was coffee and tea available at the front desk, which we took with us when checking out. It's a really great hotel!

I initially planned to book a two-night stay but was hesitant due to mixed reviews about the hotel. Instead, I opted to book for one night to see if it met my expectations, intending to decide later whether to extend my stay.
After dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, I made up my mind and chose to extend for an additional night.
The reception staff spoke good English, making the check-in process smooth. The set dinner and breakfast were delicious, with the restaurant staff being polite and attentive. I must commend the chef for the effort in creating varied menus for both dinner and breakfast each day of our stay.
The onsen was quiet and peaceful during my visit around 5 PM.
The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable; however, the lighting was too dim for my preference.
The only downside of my stay was the weak Wi-Fi signal, not just in the room but throughout most areas of the hotel.

I arrived late at night, but they arranged my bath time and offered to help me relax, which I really appreciated. 😆
I walked there in the middle of the night, and the road was pitch black, so it was a little scary. 💦

Amazing
NNuonuokafeiThe classic Karuizawa Resort Hotel, which has been passed down for more than 100 years, has been restored to its original state. It will welcome guests with a brand new look in 2024. There is a pick-up at the hotel's pick-up area at the south exit of Karuizawa Station. The car is parked a little inside and you have to look for it. There is a bus at 2:30 in the afternoon. If there is no bus, take a taxi directly to the hotel, which costs about RMB 60. The hotel's etiquette reception is impeccable. Every staff member is warm and friendly. The room is just the best time to live. It is brand new but no longer decorated. I booked a better room with a terrace than the basic room. I was given a corner room with large double-sided glass. The room is so beautiful. The terrace is quite small and I have never been out. The basic room of the hotel is also very large. There is no problem. Every room is comfortable to live in. It is recommended to include meals. Dinner is 16,500 yen plus 1,000 yen to upgrade the meat. The meat is tender and delicious. It is worth it! Every dish was delicious, the right temperature, the best quality. Breakfast was 5700 yen, not bad, but the quality was not as good as the breakfast in Nikko Jingu. The boiled egg was hard to open without an egg opener, the bacon was not crispy, and the toast was not toasted. I was a little disappointed, but the service was still perfect. The curtains in the room were very blackout, which was highly praised. There were many buses going to and from the station to go shopping at the outlets. It was easy to buy. There were all the big sports brands and the styles were new. In summary, I would stay here again if I went to Karuizawa.
GGuest UserVery decent hotel with good services from the hotel staff. Come with onsen & spa facilities as well as large size rooms and bathrooms. Less than 10 minutes car ride from the Karuizawa station, ski centre and the Prince Shopping Plaza. Hotel also provides free shuttle bus services through and forth to the Karuizawa station which conveniently accessible to the ski centre (free shuttle bus services outside the South exit of the Karuizawa station) and the Prince Shopping Plaza (stone throw from Karuizawa station).
GGuest UserThis hotel has a really cool design. The room was small but had everything you needed, though there wasn't enough space to open two large suitcases. A pleasant surprise was their happy hour in the evening, and after 9:15 PM, they opened a 'mystery room' with free drinks and snacks – that was a lot of fun! I was lucky enough to meet a staff member who spoke Cantonese; their service was excellent and very friendly. The location is also quite good, about a 12-minute walk from the JR station.
LLanxin001True to its reputation as an established resort hotel, the rooms are spacious, and the environment is excellent. The shuttle service is incredibly convenient. After arriving at JR, you can drop off your luggage at the Prince Hotel reception and go shopping directly. By the time you check in, your luggage will already be in your room. When checking out, you can also have the hotel send your luggage to the reception, where you can pick it up before heading to the JR station.
YYangguoziHere's a review of the hotel:
1. **Excellent Location**
The biggest highlight of this hotel is its proximity to JR Karuizawa Station, just about a 5-minute walk. It's also very close to the outlet mall.
2. **Quiet and Comfortable Stay**
Although the hotel is located near a transportation hub, its interior design ensures a very quiet atmosphere. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, guaranteeing a good night's sleep.
3. **Well-Equipped Facilities**
The hotel offers comprehensive facilities and supports English communication, making both check-in and check-out processes very smooth. Compared to other hotels in Karuizawa at a similar price point, the rooms are quite spacious and well-equipped. We chose a room with a tatami area, which was large and perfect for a shopping trip.
Overall, this hotel strikes a great balance between convenience, comfort, and service. It's an excellent choice for travelers looking to explore areas around Tokyo.
GGuest UserThe room was immaculately clean, and the welcoming staff was very friendly. We had a French set menu for dinner, which was delicious!
The breakfast buffet offered both Japanese and Western dishes, and the food was delicious and varied!
Another fun thing was the short tram ride to the hot spring baths. The water is natural, and it was a delightful experience to soak in the baths while gazing at the distant mountain views!
It's a perfect place to relax and unwind on vacation!
TtingzhiThis was my first time in Karuizawa, and I picked this hotel blindly, but it turned out to be even better than I expected. The hotel is right next to the outlets, making shopping, getting around, and dining all super convenient. The room decor was also very cozy.
GGuest UserPros -
1. Hotel apartment is 15 mins by walk from karuizawa station, still walkable. Hotel does not provide any shuttle bus
2. Room is spacious and it is equipped with microwave, stove & fridge. It does not come with any kitchen ware though and need to request the items you need clearly. It is hard to communicate as the staffs do not speak English well
3. It is 3 mins by walk away from a big supermarket and McDonald, very convenient if you like to cook and buy something to eat on your own
Cons
1. Facilities are old, WiFi was down few times during our stay
2. Staffs are not professional and do not speak English well. It is so difficult to communicate with the receptionist as most of male staffs do not speak English (female is better). They provide false information and don’t understand their hotel facilities well
3. During our stay, roof top is under repair so the whole room is surrounded by shed frame, we are unable to open the balcony door at all as the view is all blocked
4. Carpet & sofa are quite dirty
In short, I recommend this hotel if you are staying with a big group and want to cook your own dinner. But I will not stay here again due to the poor staff experiences.
GGanmeirenRecommend one night and two meals. You can choose Japanese and Western breakfast. I choose one a day. French dinner🤩, hahahaha, the service can feed me.
Hygiene: clean and comfortable, the room is large.
Service: Whether it is the front desk, the station or the ski resort shuttle bus🚌, it is available at any time✅
Environment: ٩(๑^o^๑)۶ It is so beautiful. It is very close to the station. It would be perfect if there is a hot spring. Walk to take the bus and go to the Stone Church and Yuntang Pool.
Facilities: You can rent ski equipment at the hotel. It is also okay to return it later. You can put it in the drying room by yourself.
GGuest UserSkiing in Karuizawa in December, good location, 10 minutes drive to the ski resort. The room size is moderate, but the biggest problem is that the weather is cold, the air conditioning and heating in the room are invalid, and the temperature in the room is as cold as outside.
There is no door password and room password on the morning of the check-in day, and you will reply only if you take the initiative to ask.
