Amazing
GGuest UserWe changed to this room type at Fufu Tranquil Forest Hotel for our second night, and it was also very nice. The room was spacious, and the staff thoughtfully arranged for us to stay in the same room as last night. The warm smiles of the hotel staff left a very good impression on us. We will definitely choose Tranquil Forest Hotel again next time we come to Karuizawa. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserThank you very much for your hospitality this time. Although I checked in late, I was very satisfied with breakfast the next day, as well as the hotel cafe and sightseeing. I had a wonderful time at Mampei Hotel, a place I'd always wanted to stay at. The room was, of course, meticulously cleaned, and the staff were all polite and professional, as you'd expect. This is a hotel I'd like to return to every year, and would also like to recommend to my friends. All the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
GGuest UserHotel is in a great location, about 700m straightline walk from karuizawa train station. Room is compact but you have everything and is clean, amenities are provided at the lobby and you can take as needed, such as toner, cleanser and cream, hair brush, toothbrush, there's even body scrub. There's drinks provided for guests, you can have tea or coffee at all times. Hotel breakfast comes in brunch menu, food is nice and fresh. There's a also a lot of restaurants along this street so not to worry.
GGuest UserTruly a getaway with doggie heaven. The facilities are clean even though there are so many dogs. The room is spacious with comfortable mattress. Amenities are fully equipped. Dog even has their own amenities and treats. So lovely. The restaurant breakfast buffet has good amount of choice with rice, egg, meat, and even udon. Dogs have their own seat at the table, too. They even have their own dedicated menu. It’s so lovely to dine and see so many dogs around being cared and loved. There is public onsen and two private ones (one with sparkling onsen and the other being just traditional onsen). The dog has their own bath. There are free ice-cream and yakult too. The staffs are excellent. They have gone above and beyond with every request. They are so polite and friendly. They have worked so hard to keep the place running smoothly. I would definitely recommend any dog lovers or parents to come and stay here, with or without their pets. Such an amazing stay. The hotel is within walking distance to so many restaurants and the Old Ginza street. So convenient. Also only 10 mins away by taxi from Karuizawa station and the outlet mall. The facility is surrounded by trees and greenies.
GGuest UserOverall it was a great stay. The pros: Facilities were great. Log cabins were clean and cosy. Staff were attentive if you needed assistance. Bath house was out of this world, especially the outdoor section. West high speed ski lift was out of order, and some ski runs not operating as normal, but the skiing was great. You can also order pizza delivery to your room if you wish. The cons: TV's in the cabins were japanese channels only and old TV's. If only they could update TV's or provide a Fire Stick so you can cast Netflix on request. Courtesy bus system was confusing, but once you got the hang of it it was ok. If your staying in cabins your meant to bring you ski gear with you. Would be nice if you could leave it at the ski slopes, and not have to carry it back to the cabins. Breakfast is expensive, so we got convenience store food for breakfast each morning
GGuest UserWe spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere. I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience. The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery. The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge. Was I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!
GGuest UserHotel is located about a 20 min walk from JR Karuizawa. If you have luggage, probably easier to take a taxi from the Jr station. The front office staff are friendly and helpful and make me feel very welcome at the hotel. Room is spacious and clean with a kitchenette equipped with a microwave oven . Very useful ! Hotel is close proximity to a supermarket and bakery. Definitely will stay at this hotel when I return to Karuizawa.
GGuest UserHotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day. Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.
PPupaeBWe stayed at Karuizawa. The accommodation was reasonably priced and comfortable. They have various room types, but we chose a ryokan-style room which involved sharing a bathroom, but there were plenty of facilities and it was very convenient. Regular rooms also have private bathrooms. It's conveniently located for walking to nearby attractions. The only thing we didn't have was hot water. They actually have an onsen (hot spring), which would have been perfect if it had hot water especially with the single-digit temperatures like that, I highly recommend it to anyone interested.
