Karuizawa Prince Hotel West

The cabins are quite unique, and the hotel grounds are extensive. It's right next to the Karuizawa Outlet Mall. The staff are very welcoming and have a great attitude. Guests can use the hot springs and tennis courts for free.

The hotel's free shuttle bus from the South Exit of the station was super convenient. Getting to the Outlet West District was also a breeze, just a 2-minute walk. Plus, the hotel gave us an Enjoy Ticket, which we used for a cake and a Mapo Tofu set meal.

They charged a 150 JPY hot spring tax per person, which felt like a forced expense, regardless of whether you used the hot springs or not. There were a lot of tour groups, and some of the staff seemed a bit unenthusiastic. The value for money wasn't great.

The environment is beautiful, and the service is excellent. The front desk even upgraded my room for free! This is my third stay, and it's consistently great. It's just a few minutes' drive from Karuizawa Prince Outlet, and the hotel's hot spring is also fantastic.

The property is surrounded by lush forest and greenery. The guest rooms are spacious and airy, with balconies offering serene woodland views. Each room also features a private hot spring bath, where floor-to-ceiling windows bring the mountain scenery indoors. The buffet breakfast is a delightful blend of local Shinshu ingredients and a wide variety of delicious Western options. There's even a FamilyMart convenience store in the lobby, ensuring all amenities are well-covered. The staff are polite and attentive, and guests can rent bicycles to explore the town, creating a relaxed and comfortable vacation atmosphere. It's the ideal base for short, chartered tours around Karuizawa.

The hotel is huge; it took me at least ten minutes to walk through countless rooms to get to mine. However, the views from the hotel are stunning, and it's super convenient as it's connected to the outlets. The breakfast is really good and varied, with options like beef rice bowls and salmon, all well-prepared. There's also a FamilyMart right outside, so you can grab pretty much any essentials you need. Plus, the hotel offers a shuttle service to Karuizawa Station and the outlets.

The facilities are a bit old, and you have to wait for a shuttle to get to your room. The environment is nice, but getting around outside the hotel on your own can be a bit of a hassle. You can exchange room cleaning for a visit to the hot springs, which have been recently renovated and are quite pleasant. There's a shuttle service to both the outlet mall and the JR station. Just a heads up, if you're catching an early JR train, leave plenty of time as the shuttle takes a circuitous route, and you might miss a connection...

It's connected to the outlet mall area, so you'll never run out of options for food, drinks, and shopping. The lobby is spacious and grand, and there's even a FamilyMart convenience store inside. The staff are warm, professional, and helpful. The rooms are large, and the bedding is clean. The cabin area in the back is huge, with clear blue skies, green lawns, and beautiful undulating terrain. The air is fresh, and at 1000 meters above sea level, it's very pleasant. The view from the breakfast window is absolutely stunning, and the breakfast itself is delicious with a wide variety of choices.
