Amazing
YYoong HoeReally loved my stay at Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street. The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s in a converted historic building and the design is just stunning.
The highlight for me was the harbor view from the room. Watching the ships and the water was so relaxing and made the stay feel extra special. The location is perfect too; you're right in the historic district by Glover Garden, but still close enough to convenience stores for whatever you need. Between the unique ‘chapel’ restaurant and the modern, comfortable rooms, it’s easily one of the coolest places I’ve stayed. Highly recommend for the views alone!
FFeixiangdexiaolingyunThis hotel is only a five-minute walk from Nagasaki Station. The room design is fantastic, and the separate toilet and bathroom are my favorite 'Dormy Inn' style. The hot spring bath was also very relaxing, though I missed out on the late-night ramen. I'll definitely stay here again in the future.
GGuest UserThis is the largest hotel I've stayed at in Japan, even bigger than ones costing 1300 yen. If you're coming to Japan, you absolutely must stay at this hotel in Nagasaki. The location is excellent, right in Chinatown, and there are buses going everywhere. It's just a one-minute walk if you turn right out of the hotel.
I hadn't booked a hotel and wanted to challenge myself and test Trip.com. When I asked at the hotel, it was 330 RMB per night. I had seen it online for 180 RMB, and by the time I checked out, it was a little over 230 RMB, which is still much cheaper than booking directly. Trip.com is reliable. I've always stuck with Trip.com. Because the hotel was so good, I decided to stay an extra day in Nagasaki. On the second day, a Saturday, the price went up to 280 RMB. I'm not sure what the price would have been if I'd booked it the day before, so I can't say. Also, to get to Spectacles Bridge, you just walk right out of the hotel for about six minutes.
MMohanmode9955The location is fantastic and easy to find – just off the main road opposite Chinatown, down the street shown in the second picture. There's a supermarket right by the entrance, which is super convenient for grabbing water and snacks. The room itself is quite spacious for Japan, and all the facilities are in good condition.
AAnonymous UserNot bad - room was big, view was good and staff were nice. Some things I liked - there’s a Family Mart in the hotel, the tram & bus stop were just in front & parking was JPY1,500 for the 1st day and JPY1,000 for subsequent day with multiple in & out & extended parking to 2pm on check out day. There’s also a free shuttle that can be booked to bring you to Mt Inasa Ropeway. Just a shame that there weren’t eating places or anything interesting to see around the hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel is clean, checked on was fast. Room was spacious and has many USB ports for charging Ur handphone all round the room so no need for adapter.
Parking was limited but there are public parking near the hotel and a family mart opposite the hotel with a 5 mins walk.
Breakfast is good but limited course.
Overall stay was good n happy.
GGuest UserThe air conditioning is individually adjustable and gets nice and cold. The shower pressure is good, and the bathroom was very clean. The mattress was comfortable, though the pillows could have been a bit higher. The quiet environment made it very easy to fall asleep. The room itself was spotless and had no unpleasant odors. The staff were exceptionally polite and always had bright, welcoming smiles. I would definitely choose to stay here again.
The hotel's recreation room next to the sauna offers complimentary comic books. In terms of refreshments, they provide free cold lactic acid drinks in the morning, ice cream/popsicles from noon to afternoon, and freshly cooked ramen as a late-night supper.
Conveniently, there's a convenience store and restaurants downstairs, and Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown is right across the street. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of major attractions: 14 minutes to the museum and 13 minutes to the pier.
DDr.p3pp3rThis hostel has some genuinely strong points, but also several issues that stop it from being a great stay. It’s very much a mix of highs and lows.
The positives:
The common room is comfortable, with very good sofas and fast Wi-Fi (though it occasionally drops out — a router upgrade would easily fix this). There’s a shared kitchen with a labelled fridge, and the location is excellent for exploring Nagasaki.
Dorm rooms are good value for the price. Bed spaces are a decent size, with excellent blackout curtains that block light even if others leave the lights on. You also get a small lockbox for valuables.
The negatives:
Check-in is fully self-service with no reception. You’re given a folder with rules and keys, but if you need help, there’s no clear support — which can be stressful, especially for travellers without phone SIMs.
There is no lift. I stayed on the fourth floor, and the narrow stairs make carrying luggage difficult.
Facilities per floor are also limited: only one toilet and one shower shared between multiple dorms, plus the washer and dryer on the same floor, which feels insufficient and awkward.
Extras are all paid separately (towels, toothbrushes, earplugs, etc.). A towel really should be included at this price. Guests are also expected to ***** their own bedsheets at checkout, which feels excessive.
The common room layout could be improved. A large hammock takes up space and reduces seating — replacing it with chairs or bar seating would make the area far more usable. There were also staff or long-term workers frequently occupying the common room, which made the space feel less guest-focused.
Air conditioning is locked and cannot be adjusted, so if you’re too hot or cold, you have no control.
Would I stay again?
As a backpacker on a very tight budget, yes — tahe location and price make it workable. But if you can afford it, I’d recommend paying more for a private room nearby. There are many hotels in the area offering much better comfort and support.
EEric 779This hotel is located in the heart of Nagasaki, close to the tram station and bus station, making transportation quite convenient. The facilities are quite complete, but the decoration style is a bit old. The price is slightly higher on weekends.
KKongjiekkkThis hotel is cost-effective and the location is okay. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the station. It is uphill to walk to the hotel. It is a bit tiring to push the big box. It is hygienic. Although it is a small hotel, it is very hygienic. The breakfast is okay and you can eat enough. , the waiter is very serious and the service is good. Worth recommending
