The room was a bit old but clean. The staff is very friendly and speaks English. It's far from the train station but close to the tourist sites. However, I chose a room with a window because I don't like being stuck in a room without natural light. There was indeed a small window, but it overlooked an inner courtyard with no light or air. The picture was taken on a sunny morning and it's like the middle of the night.

The front desk service was professional; I was even able to check in a bit early. While the room was a bit old and small, it was clean and tidy, and the location was excellent. It had everything you'd expect: a fridge, smart toilet, electric kettle, and plenty of power outlets, which was really practical. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, making transportation easy. My only complaint is that the bathroom doesn't have a separate wet and dry area, so I was worried about water splashing on the smart toilet's control panel and causing a short circuit.

This place doesn't have a wet/dry separation, meaning the toilet and shower are in the same area. Also, when you want to shower, make sure to check if there's hot water before taking off your clothes. I experienced having no hot water at first, but then inexplicably it came back halfway through my shower. So that's really the main thing to watch out for. Another thing is that you need to bring your own toothbrush; there are no footlights, small accent lights, etc.

I liked the retro decor of the hotel which extended to the rooms and also the facilities. The library and communal kitchen on the 8th floor were also very nice. There is even complimentary coffee at the kitchen for guests which was nice. Staff at the front desk were all helpful and friendly. They were able to complete the check in and check out procedures efficiently.
There are however some points which I felt I didn’t really like with regards to the placement of furniture in the room. I booked the twin bed room (2 beds) and one of the beds did not have any side tables. I felt that this was inconvenient for me as I like to place my spectacles at my bedside but not on the bed itself as I was afraid of squashing them when I sleep. I ended up using my luggage as a side table. The other thing is the lack of any hooks to hang a towel or clothes in the bathroom. The only hooks available in the room were outside in the room. I found this a bit inconvenient.

Stayed in 2 different rooms. The 1st day room was awful on 9th floor. The bed was super hard like spring mattress with no give especially when sleeping sideways. The bathroom was old and dirty bathtub and the carpet was icky. Asked for a room change as I can't stand the room and I'm a pretty tolerant person. Luckily they offered 7th floor room, much better and probably newer with electronic card key, fresher cleaner bathroom and comfier bed. The 2 rooms has the same room size.

I stayed at Wow Hostel in Tainan and had a great experience. The location is super convenient—right near Tainan Station, so it’s easy to get around. The hostel is clean, modern, and has a really cozy vibe.
The staff were friendly and gave helpful tips about local spots to visit. I stayed in a dorm room, and it was comfortable with privacy curtains, personal lights, and lockers.
There’s a shared kitchen and lounge area that’s perfect for relaxing or meeting other travelers. Overall, it’s a great budget-friendly place to stay in Tainan. I’d definitely come back!

I highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Tainan – it's incredible value for money! 👍 The service was warm and attentive, and they even kindly upgraded our room. Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM; if you arrive outside these hours, you'll need to contact them via Line for assistance. It was also a big plus to have an elevator!

Had some issue with our hotel room key. The staff were very proactive trying to resolve the issue, but it was only till the 2nd day of our stay that was resolved.
There was no compensation for the incovenience caused as we only had 1 phisical key for 4 ppl.
Having said that, the rest of the service was very nice, would be happy to go back again.

The hotel included breakfast and dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out about dinner with a free drink per person, as I initially thought only breakfast was included. I highly recommend this hotel for foodies. However, be aware that the dinner menu primarily consists of late-night snack-style dishes, so you might need to grab a little extra of each item to feel full. The front desk staff were very friendly, and overall, it was a good experience!

GGuest UserThis was my second stay here, and the overall experience was still fantastic—even better than the first time! The space is incredibly well-maintained, still clean and comfortable, with a great sense of design. The lobby atmosphere is so relaxing the moment you walk in. This time, I was able to appreciate every detail even more closely, from the lighting to the furniture arrangement, all very tasteful and perfect for a quiet retreat. The amenities are still top-notch and feel very safe to use. The staff are just as friendly and natural as before, making you feel like you've returned to a familiar place. The whole environment is quiet and very comfortable to stay in, ideal for slowing down. Choosing to stay here again really speaks to its quality and consistency, and I'll definitely be back if I get the chance.

GGuest Userthe penthouse is just nice to fit 7 pax of us, including the extra mattress for a kid.
We love the penthouse which we have our own hot spring bathtub and steam room. The facilities are good, they have public and private facilities pools.
The hotel opens the pools to outsiders also, so it might be quite busy and crowded for the public pools facility.
Please prepare some snacks or instant food before you go to stay as there is no convenient shops or mini market nearby.
you have to walk about 20mins to go to the nearby town. The reception sells instant noodle cups but always out of stock. But there is restaurant in the hotel.
The hotel is not new but still good and manageable, they are still practiced the old system which is using hand written record for guests booking.
There is no bell boy to help you on the luggage, we have to carry one by one to our hotel room, which car is not reachable to your door steps. And the road to your room is slopes.
Hotel staff services are just okay, not very hospitality impressions for us as foreigners.
We love the public pools, there are over 10+ different types of hot spring pools in the hotel.

TtweenyfishThe room was spacious with places to put our luggages. The bed was oddly off centered but that created space for the luggage :) There were international electrical sockets so I didnt have to use my adaptor.
The toilet has an odd configuration. Instead of a shower curtain, u get a ”toilet seat curtain” that u are supposed to pull to keep it dry when showering (water still gets splashed on it if it is not pulled well). The most inconvenient part of the room was the lack of a dry area to wear clothes after showering. Water pressure and temperature are great.
Location wise, the hotel is very near the western market, shen nong street. We were also able to walk back from the Tainan TRA station when the buses had ended at night. There is a free shuttle bus to the THSR Tainan station which stops about 3mins walk from the hotel. We only discovered this on check out, so good to enquire with the hotel before checking in.
The staff were generally friendly, when asked, they gave some suggestions about where to eat nearby. They look slightly unsure, possibly because it was ***** new year period. They were also helpful in booking taxi, massage and sending up additional clothes hangers. I did converse in mandarin though.
We can get bedroom slippers and bottled water for free at the lobby, so that was very nice.

GGuest UserI chose to stay at the Sun Moon Inn as it was convenient for my visit to the Chimei Museum the following day. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious and hygienic. The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful residential area, which was very pleasant. However, there were some minor imperfections: the carpet in the room had stains, and the top of the TV was covered in dust. These small details were a bit of a letdown. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

張張景絜The hotel lobby appeared to be undergoing renovations. The elevator was making strange noises due to a malfunction and wasn't even shut down, which was quite unsettling. The facilities were a major letdown. Considering this hotel is already one of the pricier options in Guanzi Ridge, the quality really shouldn't be this low.
However, the room itself was truly impeccable. It boasted large floor-to-ceiling windows, and both the hot spring water and the shower heated up quickly. Overall, it was quite good.
Breakfast was the most pleasant part of my stay. Dining amidst the forest was a fantastic experience.
