"Excellent atmosphere and very pleasant stay I spent a night at the Wanaka Adventure Hostel and I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very comfortable, the hotel is clean, welcome and offers an excellent atmosphere. I've also made very nice meetings with other travelers, which made this step even more pleasant. I've spent a great time and I recommend this hostel to all those who are looking for a comfortable, warm and comfortable place in Wānaka."

"The hotel environment is great, with a quiet surroundings and beautiful scenery. It's also conveniently located for driving to Lake Wanaka and the city center. The staff were enthusiastic, and my check-in experience was very good. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with most facilities available, although some showed a little wear and tear. Overall, it offers good value for money, making it suitable for self-driving trips and holidays."

"The environment is absolutely stunning, right by the lake. When you draw the curtains, you're greeted with beautiful views of Lake Wanaka and the snowy mountains, plus adorable ducks that visit daily. We were even allowed to check in early, which was very kind of the staff to arrange since there was an available room – much appreciated! However, some of the facilities felt a bit poorly designed. First, the bed was too small; we barely dared to turn over for fear of falling off. Second, the bathroom fan and the outdoor AC unit were quite noisy. Those sensitive to low-frequency sounds might need earplugs to sleep. Also, the trash can was tiny, so if you have multiple people, remember to bring extra garbage bags. On weekends, it seemed like there might have been a staff shortage for cleaning, as our room wasn't made up until nearly 3 PM. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay, and I'm grateful for the hotel's service."

"This place is like a hostel in a small town, about a 10-15 minute walk from where the Intercity bus drops you off. I arrived early and couldn't check in yet, but I was able to store my luggage. Be aware that there's no elevator to the second floor, so you'll need to carry your bags up yourself. Surprisingly, the room had an electric blanket! Though it wasn't very cold when I was there, so I didn't need it. There's no fridge in the room; if you need to chill drinks, you'll have to use the large fridge in the laundry room. There's a small restaurant next to the front desk. I remember seeing a lot of people chatting there in the evening, mostly Chinese travelers sharing tips. You can help yourself to coffee, hot cocoa, orange juice, etc., in the restaurant anytime. Breakfast was prepared by a lovely lady; her maple pancakes were absolutely delicious! She was also incredibly patient and helpful. I asked her about getting a taxi to Roy's Peak, and she even helped call one for me. She thoughtfully reminded us to note down the taxi's number and the hotel's address for the return trip. (Here's a side note: as the taxi approached Roy's Peak, the driver, a kind lady, thoughtfully asked if we knew which number to call for the return trip. After I confirmed I did, she patiently asked if my phone had a local SIM or if I was roaming. She then explained that if roaming, I'd need to dial the New Zealand country code first. She was truly wonderful!)"

"Had a great stay here! The backpacker hostel was clean, comfortable, and had a really friendly atmosphere. Staff were helpful and the location was convenient for exploring the area. Met lots of awesome travelers during my stay. Would definitely recommend for budget travelers!"

"Reached a day late to check in as there was road closure due to the heavy snow at Lindis pass. Called the Motel and Mark our host, was very kind and assured us that the booking will be held on (which was supposedly 3 days 2 night). Mark was also very kind to fetch us from the bus drop off which was downhill as it was quite late and dark around 730pm. The motel is located uphill of a 10-15mins walk to the nearest restaurants and eatery near the lake. The room was cosy and enough for 3 person. Would definitely come back to Wanaka and stay with them for a longer period."

"I stayed in a container-style room, which had a separate bathroom (toilet, shower, and sink) behind the container. The room itself was very simple: a small oil heater, a bed with small stools on either side, a single hanger right next to the entrance, and one chair. The oil heater was quite small, so it wasn't very effective. I woke up several times during the night because it was so cold, even after getting into bed. I even had to use my down jacket as an extra blanket inside the duvet. This might be fine in the summer, but winter mornings and evenings can drop below freezing, so I wish they had a larger oil heater. If you're sensitive to cold, you might want to bring a hot water bottle or an electric blanket. There's no kettle in the kitchen, so I assume you'd have to ask reception for hot water. For a solo traveler looking for something other than a backpacker hostel, I think the location, price, and service are pretty good."

"The front desk staff were warm and friendly. The room was clean, and the kitchen was available for cooking. The surrounding area is very quiet and beautiful. The bed was comfortable, perfect for a relaxing stay in Wanaka."
