"The room was right by the lake, very close to the town center and the firefly viewing area. The only downside was the lack of an elevator; since we were staying on the second floor, we had to carry our luggage up ourselves, and the receptionist, an older woman, offered no help whatsoever. Also, the room didn't have air conditioning, but since it was February, the temperature was acceptable."

"The family room's beds, I believe both are two 0.9m beds pushed together, which made them quite large. Parking right outside the room was very convenient. The bathroom was spacious, but a bit empty; it would be better with some hooks. The shower gel and shampoo were in individual bottles, and should have been placed on a caddy in the shower, rather than under the sink. My child didn't even notice them and just rinsed with hot water. It would be even more convenient if there was an additional sink at the mini-bar counter. It's only a ten-minute walk to the Firefly Cave jetty, and about eight minutes to nearby restaurants, which is very handy. VILLAGE INN also has its own restaurant, but we arrived late at 7 PM on New Year's Eve, and they couldn't accommodate us. We were also rushing to catch the 8:15 PM Firefly Cave boat, so we didn't get to eat there."

"Please inform customers before you change the rooms for them. I had booked mine for the bath, then you gave me a different room on arrival, not even explaining why you had to change the rooms. So I had to see staff at the reception again after checking to sort it out. In the end, i got the room with the bath.I am sorry to say that your place smelt musty that is not right for accommodation for the health and safety reasons. I have also found mould in the bathroom you might want to look at. Hope all gets sorted soon. Thanks. Best."

"Overall, we had a really nice stay! The room was clean, comfortable, and worth the price. The location was excellent — very convenient and easy to get around, which made our stay even better just no towel on that day.. Other than that, everything was great and we were very happy with our stay. Would definitely recommend! 😊"

"The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with any issues we had. Even though it's a motel, it was exceptionally clean. The room also came with coffee and sugar, but there was no oil, which is something to note if you plan on cooking. Overall, we were very satisfied! It's definitely worth staying here!"

"The hotel is quite old, but overall it's clean enough. The corridors feel like a guesthouse in China, but the rooms are alright. If it weren't for the difficulty of booking hotels in Te Anau, it would probably be outdated in China. The breakfast was average."

"Good location, easy access to restaurants and supermarkets. We visited Milford sound by car, and joined a day cruise for Doubtful sound visited, both were very enjoyable. The ensuite room didn't have any cooking facilities, not even a microwave. If you want to cook anything, you need to go to a shared kitchen, and pay for the use of pots and pants. Washing machines and dryers are availible, also need to pay for using them."
