Hotels with WiFi in Fukushima City

"Excellent value for money! I booked through Trip.com and it included a wonderful, extensive breakfast. The room was a standard size, but had everything you needed, which is typical for hotels in Japan. Location-wise, it's about a 10-minute walk from Fukushima Station and just a 3-minute walk to the bus stop for Hanamiyama. You can check the bus schedule in your room and head out just in time. For buses to Aizu-Wakamatsu, you can catch them at Fukushima Station or, even closer, at the Prefectural Office, which is only a 5-minute walk away. It's also incredibly convenient for train travel: 1.5 hours to Tokyo by Shinkansen and just 30 minutes to Sendai."

"The free shuttle bus from Fukushima Station to Sansuiso is incredibly convenient; just be sure to book in advance. It's a van, so seating is limited. A taxi would take about 25 minutes. I booked a Japanese-Western style room for one. It had a bed and was a spacious suite, though the layout was a bit odd. The bedroom with the bed had no window but an exhaust fan and was relatively quiet. The Japanese-style room, however, offered the sound of the stream. Both room types are a bit older but offer great value for money and good hygiene. Sansuiso boasts two large public baths, one on the first floor and one on the sixth, plus an open-air bath with fantastic views. The food is good, although dinner service was a bit chaotic. I upgraded to the grilled beef for an extra 2200 yen, and it was incredibly worthwhile – highly recommended for a significant upgrade. After-dinner desserts included a fruit buffet with fresh, high-quality fruit, and the desserts themselves were exceptionally delicious. Breakfast was buffet style, not as good as what I had at Kintaro Onsen. A unique feature here is the abundance of free drinks; there's beer downstairs and a sake buffet in the restaurant. The coffee, however, tasted like it was made with powdered milk, so it was just average. The staff were all very enthusiastic, and one gentleman spoke Chinese and was incredibly patient and thoughtful. They also have renovated, more opulent rooms where the meals would be even better. If you have dinner in a private room, breakfast is also served individually. The experience in such rooms would be significantly enhanced. Among onsen ryokans at a similar price point, the best value for money and most meticulous service I've experienced was at Kisshotei in Kaga Onsen."

"This hotel branch is a great place overall, with clean rooms and lots of nice amenities. Plus, there’s a parking lot right next to it! However, the parking lot is in a separate building, so you’ll need to carry your luggage to and from the hotel, which can be a bit of a drag. But the location is super convenient, just a short walk to the Fukushima JR station, where you can find amazing local food and do some shopping."

"The hotel is conveniently located near the station, which is great for those without their own transport. It doesn't offer any special facilities, and the rooms are quite standard. Breakfast was identical every day, with just two options: a Japanese or Western bento box. As we stayed for multiple consecutive nights, having the same breakfast daily became monotonous, especially since the ingredients weren't of great quality. On the positive side, cleanliness was acceptable."

"I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The first great point is the proximity to the Fukushima Station. When I arrived, my check-in process was handled by the Manager, Matsuda-san. He was very friendly and warm. The room I stayed in was decently-sized, giving me enough room to walk around with a large suitcase and other bags on the floor. A suitcase stand and a small stool are provided. The beige wallpaper provided a nice contrast to the dark carpet. The controls for the room were absolutely fantastic - I could, for instance, adjust the brightness of the main light and the strength of the bathroom exhaust fan. The bathroom was slightly cramped, but I managed. An alarm clock is also provided for guests. The default blanket in the room was far too hot; even with the heating turned off, I felt like I was being roasted while I was in bed with the blanket covering me (and this was in winter!). I didn't like the default pillow either, it was too hard. On my last night, I requested a thinner blanket and softer pillow. Thankfully, the hotel was able to provide them, and I slept much better after using the new blanket and pillow. Funnily enough, the mattress was also quite hard, but it didn't give me any problems. The sound insulation was fantastic, and the cleaning staff were super quiet! I almost couldn't tell that they were outside my room doing their work! I also very likely had considerate Japanese guests on my floor, hence the peace. Nearby the hotel is S-Pal, where you can buy all sorts of prepared meals (if you're lucky, you can find a few vegan options). There's also a large pharmacy, and there are many convenience stores around. The main complaint I have is that the check-out time @ 10:00 is too early. I think 12:00 would be a better time. I did not have breakfast at the hotel, nor did I use any of the facilities, so I have no comment on those. I definitely recommend Hotel Route-Inn Grand Fukushima Ekimae to others, and I will definitely consider staying at Route-Inn hotels in other parts of Japan! Side Notes: (1) If you have large luggage and arrive at the Fukushima Station, you'll have to take the elevator at the west exit, and when you reach the ground floor you'll see another elevator about 20 metres in front of you (slightly to the left). This second elevator will take you to the underground passage, which you can use to get to the east side of the station, where Route-Inn Grand Fukushima is located. Do note that there is a rear entrance to the hotel (next to a public parking lot), and this will save you from walking to the front of the hotel with all your luggage. (2) Vegan options in Fukushima are unfortunately extremely limited, but you can find some vegan tofu bars and a few other items at 7-Eleven...but be sure to use Google Lens to translate the ingredients!"

"The best. I recommend that when you go to TAKANOYU ONSEN. You must go and rest.      The food is great. The staff is great. The room is great. The onsen is beautiful.    Just this is enough to make me happy."

"Although I didn't plan my stay there, it was the day of the fireworks festival. The surrounding buildings obscured the view of the fireworks, but I could see the small fireworks from my room window. It was a lucky location and a lucky room location. My impression was that the guests were mostly sports-minded students participating in a tournament, rather than businessmen. The breakfast buffet was busy at breakfast time, as the students were there at the same time. The staff spoke with a friendly Fukushima accent. It's conveniently close to the station, with a 7-Eleven diagonally across from the hotel, and a car rental service behind. I'd like to stay here again the next time I visit Fukushima."

"Overall a nice hotel, very close to the JR train station, just a couple of minutes walk away. The room size was very generous a lot bigger than others we’ve stayed at in Japan. The bathroom was also very spacious with a full size bath and powerful shower. The hotel provides nightwear and toiletries as well as coffee and laundry. Breakfast has a good variety of choices although can we quite busy as peak times and items do run out. I would recommend as a good convenient choice if travelling by train."

"It was great that everything was completed in the hotel. There was also a large communal bath, which was very relaxing and it was a really wasteless hotel. The response of the front staff 々 was also great. When I was in trouble, he responded quickly and in detail. Thank you."
