The hotel is located at the highland so the view looking down to the Fukushima city is amazing, esp during the night time. The staff service is very caring too. Every staff always has a smiley face. The room we reserved is a bit dated. However all other facilities in the hotel are very clean, neat l, well decorated and pretty new too. The Onsen areas are clean and modern too. The food is surprisingly tasty. I truly enjoyed my stay.

It was my first time at Takayu Onsen in the summer. The temperature had dropped to 15 degrees. The fog was incredible. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The portions were just right, not too much to eat. I think the quality is high. I enjoyed the large public bath, the open-air bath, and the private open-air bath. I was able to reserve the private open-air bath at just the right time. The breeze was pleasant and the quality of the hot spring was excellent. From the looks of it, it seemed like the place was almost fully booked, but the parking lot was full.

Due to the cold wave last week, I canceled my trip to Tsukioka Onsen in Niigata and instead stayed here in March of last year. I took a private open-air bath, and just at that time, the strong wind blew snow into the hot spring! I had a memorable experience bathing my face in natural ice mist. As expected, the temperature of the hot spring was low, but I was able to stay in it for a long time. I stayed in a renovated Western-style room in the main building, which was nice. The table was a little small, so I had a hard time spreading out my laptop. The good thing about this inn is that most of the front desk staff are around my age, so I think they are friendly and willing to talk to you. This inn is from the Showa era. The quality of the sulfur spring is excellent. If I could change the food, I would have stayed there for several nights. There was an avalanche at Tsuchiyu Onsen the day before I came, and it was scary on the way, but the slopes were carefully cleared of snow, and in some sections the snow melted on its own, so if you have a 4WD with studless tires, you can drive normally. I will use your services again during the snowy season. Thank you, Kagetsu.

Although a cold wave was coming, there wasn't much snow on the way there. A big snowstorm started in the evening. The next morning, the snow was well up to my knees, but the staff cleared it and my car was able to move. Thank you. This time I reserved a private bath, which was the best. It's almost a private open-air bath. You should use it. The food here is delicious for both dinner and breakfast. I also went shopping at the shop about three times. There are plenty of souvenirs, and I got coffee milk after the bath. The smoking room in the main building is great.
