The service here is absolutely amazing! The staff are so warm, thoughtful, and incredibly patient with their explanations. When we checked in, they even gave us a hand-drawn map and went through all the routes, potential pitfalls, and must-see spots. Their recommendations for food and activities were absolute gems – we followed their advice for mochi, mung bean cakes, and the Arts and Crafts Cooperative, and everything was spot-on, way better than anything we could have found doing our own research! They were always ready to help and proactively offered assistance, treating us like friends the whole time. It felt even warmer and more personalized than a five-star hotel.
Traveling with my mom was completely stress-free; this guesthouse provided an incredible sense of security and convenience.
If you're coming to Quanzhou, this is definitely the place to stay. I'll absolutely be back for a second visit, and I highly recommend it to all my friends!

Guest UserI rarely say this on my reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Minsu. When I come back to Quanzhou for another family holiday, I will book this place again.
Firstly, the location: It is unbeatable. It is near enough to be in the midst of the action in Quanzhou (near the walking street, eateries, restaurants, shopping etc etc), yet very quiet for us to enjoy a good night’s rest, or a good conversation at night over tea.
Second, the nice balance between an authentic cultural home and modernism. We had the entire Minsu to ourselves, 6 rooms in total. Renovated about 3-4 years ago, the Minsu gave us the experience of living in an authentic Chinese inn, yet the amenities were modern….comfortable beds, modern toilets, refrigerators available etc….The courtyards were also beautiful. The entire Minsu was tastefully done…..plus it was spotlessly clean.
Thirdly, the owners. They were so friendly and helpful. They met us at the drop off point, and brought us to the Minsu when we checked in, helping to move some of our luggages (and they did the same thing when we checked out). They went out of their way to help purchase traditional puppet show (木偶) tickets (at a small discount somemore). After we checked out, my son left his hoodie in the room. The owners assisted to courier the jacket to the next city we were heading to (we were already in the train at that time). And lastly, every morning and every night, either Mr Du, his son or his daughter in law would invite us to join them for tea. They would then proceed to serve tea the traditional way, while having a conversation with us. They also taught us certain traditions, protocols and rules when serving tea. They have a cat called TangYuan (汤圆), in which the kids in the family enjoyed playing with.
The only thing to note is that public transport (via taxis and buses) only can drop you off at a spot about 5min walk away. Also, they provide disposable towels, not the regular towels given at hotels. If it is an issue, just bring your own towels.
Otherwise, this place deserves 5 out of 5 stars.

Whenever I visit Quanzhou, I usually stay at the Crowne Plaza Riverside, which I believe has the largest rooms in Quanzhou. InterContinental hotels generally offer good quality and highly competent staff. I particularly love the apartment suites – they come with a kitchen, living room, and a long dining table. The room layout is well-organized, and the Jinjiang River flows right outside the window. The hotel is conveniently located 15 minutes from Quanzhou Station, less than 10 minutes from Licheng Wanda, and 10 minutes from Huansu Karting (one of Quanzhou's two major outdoor karting tracks).
The hotel also offers daily intangible cultural heritage activities for children, such as puppet shows and sugar painting.
This time, we also received complimentary set meals for two daily at the Cai Feng Lou on the second floor. The ginger duck was quite authentic, and the vinegar-marinated pork was delicious. The 32nd-floor lounge has a lovely ambiance, equipped with binoculars and a reading corner, perfect for a relaxing afternoon enjoying the scenery.
Service is a highlight of InterContinental. You can see mid-level managers actively involved, and their English is excellent.
I want to especially thank our front desk attendant, Xiao Yu, for his service this time. He's a cheerful, handsome, and outgoing young man, as warm as a younger brother next door, always thoughtful and considerate of guests. My parents were also very satisfied with their dining experience at the hotel. I also ran into Xiao Cai from the concierge team. He helped us with a taxi during our stay last Chinese New Year. It's been several months, but he still recognized us. The manager and staff at Cai Feng Lou were also humble and attentive, even helping us book a private room for our next meal.
I often travel to different cities and experience various hotels. But when it comes to loyalty, I always choose InterContinental hotels. Their design style is grand yet simple, and their service is warm and friendly, making them well worth repeat visits.

Cleanliness: The room cleanliness was excellent. I'm a bit of a clean freak, but apart from some glue marks and traces on the walls, everything else was fine. No dust or hair at all. I can honestly say it's the cleanest room I've stayed in during my many trips to Quanzhou. I've been to Quanzhou many times and stayed in numerous places, but your cleanliness is truly impeccable – at least within the guest rooms. However, the corridor from the elevator to the room had an indescribable odor (2nd floor, it was slightly better when I moved to the 3rd floor). It smelled like a stale, stuffy scent combined with an air freshener, creating a strange, hard-to-describe smell, possibly due to lack of ventilation for too long. I'd recommend prioritizing ventilation.
But this was the first time I was assigned a room that hadn't been fully cleaned – there was still one pillow on the bed without a pillowcase, and I wasn't informed. Only after I asked did the staff member tell me they were short on pillowcases that day. I could have waited, so I found it a bit puzzling.
Facilities: The room lighting wasn't great. The curtain control switch was a bit odd; I couldn't see the curtain's status when I pressed the switch. I love bright rooms, but no matter how I pressed the buttons, I couldn't just close the sheer curtain. In the end, I had to close both. On the 2nd floor, the window view was entirely a concrete wall, and on the 3rd floor, it was someone's balcony. Next time, it would be better to have the sheer curtain drawn, as seeing a concrete wall immediately upon entering isn't a good impression. I know residential buildings are close in Quanzhou, but this could definitely be optimized.
Soundproofing was poor, truly. At 2 AM, just as I was getting sleepy and about to go to bed, I heard the sound of a faucet turning on next door, and it wasn't quiet. It felt like it was right next to my head. The door was heavy, making me think the soundproofing would be good, but it wasn't. I could clearly hear when the neighbors left and what they were saying.
Sleeping earplugs: These would be great to have in the room.
There was plenty of very hot water, and the toilet worked well. These are excellent advantages of the room. The bed was firm, which I really liked. The projector focus could be adjusted a bit more as it was a little blurry. Having a subscription to TV channels was great; I enjoyed watching shows.
Environment: It's very close to Zhongshan Middle Road, and the location is the best I've stayed in so far. I feel it's even better than Lushu. I really like Huaxiang, so no complaints there.
Service: I'd like to commend the staff member; her attitude was excellent. The afternoon tea drinks were also delicious, and the scones were warm, fragrant, and very tasty. Thumbs up. The scones actually helped to offset my annoyance about discovering the missing pillowcase. I stayed up late, hoping to sleep in a bit later, but the soundproofing was truly bad.
Regarding the front desk staff, I only saw them during check-in and check-out; I didn't encounter them at other times.
Overall, it could be optimized further, but everything else was okay.

This hotel is simply perfect! The room was huge, and the cleaning staff tidied up every day. Every evening, they'd bring sweet soups like tremella or red bean, along with fruit, right to our room. The restaurant on the 22nd floor was also great; we could leisurely enjoy breakfast there before heading out. There's a gym and a pool on the 6th floor.
Speaking of which, I almost gave a bad review. When I chose this hotel, it was specifically because of their swimming pool. However, when I got there, I found out that during the Chinese New Year period, the pool hours were only from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM. This is exactly when we were out and about! How could anyone use the pool then? I was so annoyed. But, considering their excellent service, I let it go and still gave a full five stars.
I also want to give a special shout-out to ”Huihui” at the front desk. We accidentally left something in the hotel fridge and only realized it after we'd checked out. Huihui very enthusiastically helped us find it and even mailed it to us. We're so grateful!
All in all, this is a hotel with complete facilities, thoughtful service, and a warm, lovely atmosphere. It's the kind of cozy place that made us look forward to coming back to rest every day after a tiring day of sightseeing.

Quanzhou West Lake Hotel boasts an excellent location right next to West Lake Park, offering great transport links. The 'Little White Car' stop right outside provides direct access to the ancient city's core. The hotel facilities are new and comprehensive, with spacious and bright rooms. Some room types even feature oversized floor-to-ceiling windows, offering expansive views of West Lake – truly a sight to behold. The front desk staff are warm and attentive, making check-in a breeze, and the intelligent robot delivery service is a convenient touch. The hotel's quiet environment makes it ideal for families or business travelers, and its high value for money makes it a fantastic choice for visiting Quanzhou.

Anonymous UserTime flies when you're having fun, and my trip to this thousand-year-old Quanzhou city has come to an end. What I'll remember most is choosing 2208 Inn, which boasts a fantastic location on the busiest street in Quanzhou's city center. The West Gate of the famous Kaiyuan Temple is just across the road from the inn.
From my room at the inn, I could open the window and gaze at the beautiful night silhouette of Quanxi Hall on West Street. I could also hear the bustling crowds of West Street from outside my window. Day or night, the ancient city's streets are lined with a dazzling array of local snacks and delicacies – think Mianxian paste, Ginger Duck, Fujianese crispy pork, with famous eateries right next door. If you want a taste, just head downstairs; they're just a few steps away. Xunpu flower-wearing shops are also everywhere. If you want to try wearing the flowers, just go downstairs, and you can instantly transform into a beautiful flower-wearing girl.
What brought me the most joy was the genuine conversations I had with the inn staff every time I returned. The front desk's handsome and dedicated customer service representative, the proprietress's beautiful smile, and the cleaning auntie's meticulousness and hard work all exemplify the inn's warm and thoughtful hospitality.
Thank you all for giving me such wonderful memories of the ancient city. It makes me recall: in this thousand-year-old city, in this little alley corner, I unexpectedly encountered your vibrant, almost divine, warmth and vitality. It makes me miss the moment the pigeons flew past the Twin Pagodas of Kaiyuan Temple in the morning, the fragrant misty aroma of Tieguanyin tea in an old teahouse in the afternoon, and the golden glow of the sunset over Jinjiang River.
Encounters are always brief! I've already made a promise with you – if I ever come to Quanzhou again, I will undoubtedly choose 2208 Inn without hesitation. As the year draws to a close and a new one begins, I wish the inn even greater prosperity and a booming year ahead!

Firstly, I want to emphasise that the hostel staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful. They helped me sort out a problem with my phone, shared their suggestions of places to visit, and helped me upgrade my room too. So 10/10 for the staff. To give a more honest review of the room though:
Pros: The shared common room area is very spacious, and a great place to meet new friends. There are games and activities available, plus they often organised free social events like card game nights and movies. The dorm room was relatively spacious, with a desk space too. The beds have good privacy curtains. There are plug sockets by each bed for charging phones etc.
Cons: The main issue I have with the dorm rooms is that there is a dedicated bathroom per room. This seems great, until you have a roommate who spends three full hours all morning recolouringtheir hair in there, while the rest of us can't use the toilet or shower.
Other than that, I did feel that the location was a bit inconvenient (I had to drag my suitcase through some kind of dirty building site to get there, and it is about 15 mins walk from the main tourist area). Additionally, the beds were very uncomfortable (they've used foam mattesss toppers on wooden boards, with no actual mattress) and didn't have a shelf next to the bed or any storage lockers for bags. Also the hostel didn't provide towels for dorm room guests (which is usually standard).
After the issue with the roommate hogging the bathroom (who also snored all night too...) I asked to pay the difference to upgrade to a private room. The hostel happily arranged this without any issues, and even prepared the room for me to move into early. This private room was much better - a proper mattress, towels provided, etc. It was a bit noisy when the neighbour turned on their air conditioning (since the unit was right outside the window), but other than that I have no complaints.
