"This hotel exceeded my expectations! It's incredibly convenient for sightseeing; we could always pop back for a break when we got tired exploring the old town. The electric carts (xiaobai che) can drop you right at the hotel entrance. The bed and linens were so comfortable – after a long day, I slept like a baby. All the hotel facilities are modern and convenient. The sealed facial towels, bath towels, and bathrobes were clean and hygienic. They even provided four bottles of Nongfu Spring water daily. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, with many Southern Fujian specialties, perfect for fueling up for the whole day. It was superb! My husband praised my hotel choice several times 🤓. The front desk staff were also lovely, warm, and polite. They kindly allowed us a late check-out since our flight was at 5 PM, and even gave us a souvenir gift when we left, which was a wonderful surprise. Thank you so much 🙏. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Quanzhou."

"I'm a loyal Atour guest, and my first visit to Quanzhou and this particular hotel left a deep impression on me. Perhaps it's because it's newly renovated, but the room design and layout are excellent, the facilities are top-notch, and everything feels very high-quality. Every detail shows thoughtfulness, from the Atour tea I love to the individually sealed towels, which really puts your mind at ease. They even provide 3M earplugs. The gentleman at reception was incredibly welcoming. I really appreciate Atour's washing machines and dryers; it means I can keep my clothes clean every day and not have to lug a huge bag of dirty laundry home. The lady at the front desk was very responsible; I left my clothes in the laundry room too late at night, and the next morning I found she had neatly hung them on my door. The breakfast is also very rich, featuring both Atour's signature offerings and Fujian local specialties. The location here is fantastic. It's easy to get a taxi, there's no traffic congestion, and you can walk to all the main attractions. If I ever come back to Quanzhou, I'd definitely want to stay here again."

We found it to be excellent value for money on Trip.com, and we could even use points to offset the room rate. The hotel has its own free parking, which is a huge plus for self-drivers. Parking spaces can be a bit tight, but the lobby staff are very helpful with directing you. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and check-in was a breeze. There's a complimentary coffee machine in the lobby. The bed in our room was quite comfortable, and the decor was stylish and cozy. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom featured a good wet/dry separation. The shower had great water pressure and flow, making for a very comfortable experience, and a full set of toiletries was provided. On the second floor, there are self-service washing machines and dryers (six in total), right next to the gym. "Staying at the Southern French Garden B&B in Quanzhou was an absolute delight! 🌿 The entire French courtyard is lush with greenery, and the outdoor pool is simply the soul of the place. I put on a light dress and easily captured that French cinematic feel. In the evening, relaxing under the warm courtyard lights was pure bliss – the perfect holiday chill vibe. For those coming to take photos, I'd suggest bringing several outfits, as every corner of this place is incredibly photogenic, and the rooms are beautiful too! 🤩 It's very close to West Street and the East and West Pagodas, making it super convenient for exploring the ancient city! The beds are really comfortable and soft, and the service was excellent; they helped me immediately with anything I needed 😊. My only slight disappointment was that it rained during my visit, so I couldn't take photos by the pool. However, the interior spaces that the owner designed are also stunning, so I still managed to get some great shots even on a rainy day. The owner said it's beautiful when it's sunny, so I'll definitely have to come back and see it then!"

This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"This hotel is located in the old city, making it a convenient 10-minute taxi ride to attractions like the Bell Tower, Kaiyuan Temple, East and West Pagodas, and Shaolin Temple. Quanzhou Station is about 30 minutes away. The staff across all departments are incredibly nice. The lobby offers complimentary coffee, small ice creams, and various small essentials that might be needed during a trip, which was a very thoughtful touch. You need to swipe your card to access the guest rooms via the elevator. The room was clean and tidy, with simple amenities. The shower had excellent water temperature and pressure. Breakfast was pretty standard for an apartment hotel. Some items were gone by 9 AM when I went, but I did see the kitchen replenishing them later. However, the air conditioning was extremely noisy [店家请看视频记录的声音 - Hotel, please check the recorded sound in the video]. I had to sleep with earplugs. The room's soundproofing was also poor. Even with earplugs, I could clearly hear people walking and talking in the hallway. My neighbors' phone kept ringing at 2 AM, waking me up. Then it rang again for over a minute at 3 AM after I'd fallen back asleep, and no one answered, which woke me up again and led to complete insomnia. It was a terrible sleeping experience. As a frequent business traveler who has stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels across various locations, I regret to say this is the only Holiday Inn Express I haven't given a five-star review to."

"Traveling with a child, front desk staff member Yechen provided exceptional service. She proactively upgraded our room and a robot even delivered toothbrushes and slippers to our little one, which made them very happy. Later, when my child accidentally broke a mouthwash cup, she promptly helped us resolve the issue. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety, and our child really enjoyed it, making for a very comfortable stay. The service here is absolutely amazing! The staff are so warm, thoughtful, and incredibly patient with their explanations. When we checked in, they even gave us a hand-drawn map and went through all the routes, potential pitfalls, and must-see spots. Their recommendations for food and activities were absolute gems – we followed their advice for mochi, mung bean cakes, and the Arts and Crafts Cooperative, and everything was spot-on, way better than anything we could have found doing our own research! They were always ready to help and proactively offered assistance, treating us like friends the whole time. It felt even warmer and more personalized than a five-star hotel. Traveling with my mom was completely stress-free; this guesthouse provided an incredible sense of security and convenience. If you're coming to Quanzhou, this is definitely the place to stay. I'll absolutely be back for a second visit, and I highly recommend it to all my friends!

I rarely say this on my reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Minsu. When I come back to Quanzhou for another family holiday, I will book this place again. Firstly, the location: It is unbeatable. It is near enough to be in the midst of the action in Quanzhou (near the walking street, eateries, restaurants, shopping etc etc), yet very quiet for us to enjoy a good night’s rest, or a good conversation at night over tea. Second, the nice balance between an authentic cultural home and modernism. We had the entire Minsu to ourselves, 6 rooms in total. Renovated about 3-4 years ago, the Minsu gave us the experience of living in an authentic Chinese inn, yet the amenities were modern….comfortable beds, modern toilets, refrigerators available etc….The courtyards were also beautiful. The entire Minsu was tastefully done…..plus it was spotlessly clean. Thirdly, the owners. They were so friendly and helpful. They met us at the drop off point, and brought us to the Minsu when we checked in, helping to move some of our luggages (and they did the same thing when we checked out). They went out of their way to help purchase traditional puppet show (木偶) tickets (at a small discount somemore). After we checked out, my son left his hoodie in the room. The owners assisted to courier the jacket to the next city we were heading to (we were already in the train at that time). And lastly, every morning and every night, either Mr Du, his son or his daughter in law would invite us to join them for tea. They would then proceed to serve tea the traditional way, while having a conversation with us. They also taught us certain traditions, protocols and rules when serving tea. They have a cat called TangYuan (汤圆), in which the kids in the family enjoyed playing with. The only thing to note is that public transport (via taxis and buses) only can drop you off at a spot about 5min walk away. Also, they provide disposable towels, not the regular towels given at hotels. If it is an issue, just bring your own towels. Otherwise, this place deserves 5 out of 5 stars.

Whenever I visit Quanzhou, I usually stay at the Crowne Plaza Riverside, which I believe has the largest rooms in Quanzhou. InterContinental hotels generally offer good quality and highly competent staff. I particularly love the apartment suites – they come with a kitchen, living room, and a long dining table. The room layout is well-organized, and the Jinjiang River flows right outside the window. The hotel is conveniently located 15 minutes from Quanzhou Station, less than 10 minutes from Licheng Wanda, and 10 minutes from Huansu Karting (one of Quanzhou's two major outdoor karting tracks). The hotel also offers daily intangible cultural heritage activities for children, such as puppet shows and sugar painting. This time, we also received complimentary set meals for two daily at the Cai Feng Lou on the second floor. The ginger duck was quite authentic, and the vinegar-marinated pork was delicious. The 32nd-floor lounge has a lovely ambiance, equipped with binoculars and a reading corner, perfect for a relaxing afternoon enjoying the scenery. Service is a highlight of InterContinental. You can see mid-level managers actively involved, and their English is excellent. I want to especially thank our front desk attendant, Xiao Yu, for his service this time. He's a cheerful, handsome, and outgoing young man, as warm as a younger brother next door, always thoughtful and considerate of guests. My parents were also very satisfied with their dining experience at the hotel. I also ran into Xiao Cai from the concierge team. He helped us with a taxi during our stay last Chinese New Year. It's been several months, but he still recognized us. The manager and staff at Cai Feng Lou were also humble and attentive, even helping us book a private room for our next meal. I often travel to different cities and experience various hotels. But when it comes to loyalty, I always choose InterContinental hotels. Their design style is grand yet simple, and their service is warm and friendly, making them well worth repeat visits.

Cleanliness: The room cleanliness was excellent. I'm a bit of a clean freak, but apart from some glue marks and traces on the walls, everything else was fine. No dust or hair at all. I can honestly say it's the cleanest room I've stayed in during my many trips to Quanzhou. I've been to Quanzhou many times and stayed in numerous places, but your cleanliness is truly impeccable – at least within the guest rooms. However, the corridor from the elevator to the room had an indescribable odor (2nd floor, it was slightly better when I moved to the 3rd floor). It smelled like a stale, stuffy scent combined with an air freshener, creating a strange, hard-to-describe smell, possibly due to lack of ventilation for too long. I'd recommend prioritizing ventilation. But this was the first time I was assigned a room that hadn't been fully cleaned – there was still one pillow on the bed without a pillowcase, and I wasn't informed. Only after I asked did the staff member tell me they were short on pillowcases that day. I could have waited, so I found it a bit puzzling. Facilities: The room lighting wasn't great. The curtain control switch was a bit odd; I couldn't see the curtain's status when I pressed the switch. I love bright rooms, but no matter how I pressed the buttons, I couldn't just close the sheer curtain. In the end, I had to close both. On the 2nd floor, the window view was entirely a concrete wall, and on the 3rd floor, it was someone's balcony. Next time, it would be better to have the sheer curtain drawn, as seeing a concrete wall immediately upon entering isn't a good impression. I know residential buildings are close in Quanzhou, but this could definitely be optimized. Soundproofing was poor, truly. At 2 AM, just as I was getting sleepy and about to go to bed, I heard the sound of a faucet turning on next door, and it wasn't quiet. It felt like it was right next to my head. The door was heavy, making me think the soundproofing would be good, but it wasn't. I could clearly hear when the neighbors left and what they were saying. Sleeping earplugs: These would be great to have in the room. There was plenty of very hot water, and the toilet worked well. These are excellent advantages of the room. The bed was firm, which I really liked. The projector focus could be adjusted a bit more as it was a little blurry. Having a subscription to TV channels was great; I enjoyed watching shows. Environment: It's very close to Zhongshan Middle Road, and the location is the best I've stayed in so far. I feel it's even better than Lushu. I really like Huaxiang, so no complaints there. Service: I'd like to commend the staff member; her attitude was excellent. The afternoon tea drinks were also delicious, and the scones were warm, fragrant, and very tasty. Thumbs up. The scones actually helped to offset my annoyance about discovering the missing pillowcase. I stayed up late, hoping to sleep in a bit later, but the soundproofing was truly bad. Regarding the front desk staff, I only saw them during check-in and check-out; I didn't encounter them at other times. Overall, it could be optimized further, but everything else was okay.

This hotel is simply perfect! The room was huge, and the cleaning staff tidied up every day. Every evening, they'd bring sweet soups like tremella or red bean, along with fruit, right to our room. The restaurant on the 22nd floor was also great; we could leisurely enjoy breakfast there before heading out. There's a gym and a pool on the 6th floor. Speaking of which, I almost gave a bad review. When I chose this hotel, it was specifically because of their swimming pool. However, when I got there, I found out that during the Chinese New Year period, the pool hours were only from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM. This is exactly when we were out and about! How could anyone use the pool then? I was so annoyed. But, considering their excellent service, I let it go and still gave a full five stars. I also want to give a special shout-out to ”Huihui” at the front desk. We accidentally left something in the hotel fridge and only realized it after we'd checked out. Huihui very enthusiastically helped us find it and even mailed it to us. We're so grateful! All in all, this is a hotel with complete facilities, thoughtful service, and a warm, lovely atmosphere. It's the kind of cozy place that made us look forward to coming back to rest every day after a tiring day of sightseeing.

Time flies when you're having fun, and my trip to this thousand-year-old Quanzhou city has come to an end. What I'll remember most is choosing 2208 Inn, which boasts a fantastic location on the busiest street in Quanzhou's city center. The West Gate of the famous Kaiyuan Temple is just across the road from the inn. From my room at the inn, I could open the window and gaze at the beautiful night silhouette of Quanxi Hall on West Street. I could also hear the bustling crowds of West Street from outside my window. Day or night, the ancient city's streets are lined with a dazzling array of local snacks and delicacies – think Mianxian paste, Ginger Duck, Fujianese crispy pork, with famous eateries right next door. If you want a taste, just head downstairs; they're just a few steps away. Xunpu flower-wearing shops are also everywhere. If you want to try wearing the flowers, just go downstairs, and you can instantly transform into a beautiful flower-wearing girl. What brought me the most joy was the genuine conversations I had with the inn staff every time I returned. The front desk's handsome and dedicated customer service representative, the proprietress's beautiful smile, and the cleaning auntie's meticulousness and hard work all exemplify the inn's warm and thoughtful hospitality. Thank you all for giving me such wonderful memories of the ancient city. It makes me recall: in this thousand-year-old city, in this little alley corner, I unexpectedly encountered your vibrant, almost divine, warmth and vitality. It makes me miss the moment the pigeons flew past the Twin Pagodas of Kaiyuan Temple in the morning, the fragrant misty aroma of Tieguanyin tea in an old teahouse in the afternoon, and the golden glow of the sunset over Jinjiang River. Encounters are always brief! I've already made a promise with you – if I ever come to Quanzhou again, I will undoubtedly choose 2208 Inn without hesitation. As the year draws to a close and a new one begins, I wish the inn even greater prosperity and a booming year ahead!

Firstly, I want to emphasise that the hostel staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful. They helped me sort out a problem with my phone, shared their suggestions of places to visit, and helped me upgrade my room too. So 10/10 for the staff. To give a more honest review of the room though: Pros: The shared common room area is very spacious, and a great place to meet new friends. There are games and activities available, plus they often organised free social events like card game nights and movies. The dorm room was relatively spacious, with a desk space too. The beds have good privacy curtains. There are plug sockets by each bed for charging phones etc. Cons: The main issue I have with the dorm rooms is that there is a dedicated bathroom per room. This seems great, until you have a roommate who spends three full hours all morning recolouringtheir hair in there, while the rest of us can't use the toilet or shower. Other than that, I did feel that the location was a bit inconvenient (I had to drag my suitcase through some kind of dirty building site to get there, and it is about 15 mins walk from the main tourist area). Additionally, the beds were very uncomfortable (they've used foam mattesss toppers on wooden boards, with no actual mattress) and didn't have a shelf next to the bed or any storage lockers for bags. Also the hostel didn't provide towels for dorm room guests (which is usually standard). After the issue with the roommate hogging the bathroom (who also snored all night too...) I asked to pay the difference to upgrade to a private room. The hostel happily arranged this without any issues, and even prepared the room for me to move into early. This private room was much better - a proper mattress, towels provided, etc. It was a bit noisy when the neighbour turned on their air conditioning (since the unit was right outside the window), but other than that I have no complaints.
