"The hotel is right in the old city, within walking distance to all the attractions. The suite I booked was great and offered excellent value for money. Quanzhou is truly a city for foodies, but unfortunately, the elderly person I was with couldn't eat seafood, beef, lamb, or chicken, so we ended up having ginger duck every day for a few days – though the ginger duck was genuinely delicious! The main attraction, Kaiyuan Temple, was too crowded for us to enjoy. We also tried to visit the famous Tianhou Temple and Deji Gate, but the navigation app couldn't lead us to the correct path, and after a few frustrating attempts, we lost interest. That was a real shame. It's a great place to come for the food though."

Located in the heart of the city, the five-star Quanzhou Hotel (Quanzhou Jiudian) is around eight kilometers from Quanzhou railway station. The architecture of this Quanzhou hotel features classic European style. Guests can select from a list of room such as deluxe business rooms, deluxe business suites and presidential suites. Well-equipped rooms command views of the city and its landmark, two ancient towers.

"We were very satisfied with our stay. Initially, we booked a standard double room, but after checking in, we found it hadn't been cleaned yet. We reported this to the front desk, and a housekeeping attendant promptly cleaned it for us. To our surprise, the hotel manager even upgraded us to a deluxe room free of charge, giving us a panoramic view. We just hope the hotel doesn't penalize the cleaning attendant; it's probably because there were so many guests and the hotel was so busy that she was simply too overwhelmed to finish cleaning on time. Overall, our stay was extremely satisfying."

"This hotel, under Quanzhou Culture and Tourism, guarantees excellent service and hygiene! Choosing to stay here was, in my opinion, the smartest decision of my Quanzhou trip! The hotel is conveniently located near Qiaoxiang Commodity City and Guandi Temple. The absolute best part is Pingjin Road nearby, which is full of amazing food – I couldn't even pick what to eat! I was so incredibly happy 🥰 There are shared electric scooters and bicycles right outside the hotel, making it super easy to get to West Street and the ancient city. Cruising around the ancient city on an electric scooter was incredibly freeing and blissful!"

"An incredibly soothing Zen-inspired B&B – once you're here, you won't want to leave! Even my child gave it a high rating, saying they wanted to stay a few more days! As a 'special forces' traveler exploring Quanzhou, I hastily booked a stay at Yue Zhaoshan Garden B&B, and the overall experience completely exceeded my expectations! The decor features an understated yet elegant New Chinese Zen style. The entrance design sets an incredible mood with olive trees and natural landscape stones, creating a serene and sophisticated atmosphere. Every photo taken here looks like a high-quality shot. The common areas are meticulously clean and tidy, with dark floor tiles, stone benches, and soft accent lighting. Sitting here in the evening, enjoying the breeze, instantly calms any restless thoughts. The guest rooms are tastefully furnished with warm, durable wooden furniture. The attention to detail in the craftsmanship is evident, showing how much thought the owner put into the design and decoration. Most importantly, it's spotlessly clean! The environment is quiet and peaceful, making it perfect for a short getaway or a gathering with friends. The service is gentle and attentive; the hostess even provided a travel guide and food recommendations! The overall stay experience was perfect. The location is also very convenient – it's quiet despite being close to the hustle and bustle. I will definitely choose this place again on my next trip here. I genuinely recommend it to anyone who appreciates tranquil and stylish B&Bs!"

"What a fantastic experience! My original B&B was terrible and they even scammed me out of over 100 yuan. To ensure my child had a good time in Quanzhou, I immediately booked a stay at Atour. The environment was great, and the front desk staff were all polite and kind. Check-in was quick, they even gave me a complimentary breakfast, and patiently explained about the shuttle service (the 'little white car' that stops with a wave) – which was incredibly helpful for me traveling with a child! The beds and pillows at Atour were very comfortable. My child slept until 9 AM, which really helped shake off the fatigue from several days of travel. I'll definitely choose Atour again for my next trip. Thumbs up! 👍"

The service here is absolutely amazing! The staff are so warm, thoughtful, and incredibly patient with their explanations. When we checked in, they even gave us a hand-drawn map and went through all the routes, potential pitfalls, and must-see spots. Their recommendations for food and activities were absolute gems – we followed their advice for mochi, mung bean cakes, and the Arts and Crafts Cooperative, and everything was spot-on, way better than anything we could have found doing our own research! They were always ready to help and proactively offered assistance, treating us like friends the whole time. It felt even warmer and more personalized than a five-star hotel. Traveling with my mom was completely stress-free; this guesthouse provided an incredible sense of security and convenience. If you're coming to Quanzhou, this is definitely the place to stay. I'll absolutely be back for a second visit, and I highly recommend it to all my friends!

My friends and I all thought this place was fantastic. Tingjian and Wanggui are located in a separate, ancient-style courtyard, full of Zen charm. The owner was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The hotel's cat, Tangyuan, is also adorable. You can go pet her anytime in the old house, and they even thoughtfully provide freeze-dried treats for her. That little cat just can't resist food! We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in town, highly recommended! The location is also super convenient; most of Quanzhou's attractions and shopping are nearby, making it easy to get around. The food recommendations from the owner were also top-notch, absolutely superb!

Whenever I visit Quanzhou, I usually stay at the Crowne Plaza Riverside, which I believe has the largest rooms in Quanzhou. InterContinental hotels generally offer good quality and highly competent staff. I particularly love the apartment suites – they come with a kitchen, living room, and a long dining table. The room layout is well-organized, and the Jinjiang River flows right outside the window. The hotel is conveniently located 15 minutes from Quanzhou Station, less than 10 minutes from Licheng Wanda, and 10 minutes from Huansu Karting (one of Quanzhou's two major outdoor karting tracks). The hotel also offers daily intangible cultural heritage activities for children, such as puppet shows and sugar painting. This time, we also received complimentary set meals for two daily at the Cai Feng Lou on the second floor. The ginger duck was quite authentic, and the vinegar-marinated pork was delicious. The 32nd-floor lounge has a lovely ambiance, equipped with binoculars and a reading corner, perfect for a relaxing afternoon enjoying the scenery. Service is a highlight of InterContinental. You can see mid-level managers actively involved, and their English is excellent. I want to especially thank our front desk attendant, Xiao Yu, for his service this time. He's a cheerful, handsome, and outgoing young man, as warm as a younger brother next door, always thoughtful and considerate of guests. My parents were also very satisfied with their dining experience at the hotel. I also ran into Xiao Cai from the concierge team. He helped us with a taxi during our stay last Chinese New Year. It's been several months, but he still recognized us. The manager and staff at Cai Feng Lou were also humble and attentive, even helping us book a private room for our next meal. I often travel to different cities and experience various hotels. But when it comes to loyalty, I always choose InterContinental hotels. Their design style is grand yet simple, and their service is warm and friendly, making them well worth repeat visits.

Cleanliness: The room cleanliness was excellent. I'm a bit of a clean freak, but apart from some glue marks and traces on the walls, everything else was fine. No dust or hair at all. I can honestly say it's the cleanest room I've stayed in during my many trips to Quanzhou. I've been to Quanzhou many times and stayed in numerous places, but your cleanliness is truly impeccable – at least within the guest rooms. However, the corridor from the elevator to the room had an indescribable odor (2nd floor, it was slightly better when I moved to the 3rd floor). It smelled like a stale, stuffy scent combined with an air freshener, creating a strange, hard-to-describe smell, possibly due to lack of ventilation for too long. I'd recommend prioritizing ventilation. But this was the first time I was assigned a room that hadn't been fully cleaned – there was still one pillow on the bed without a pillowcase, and I wasn't informed. Only after I asked did the staff member tell me they were short on pillowcases that day. I could have waited, so I found it a bit puzzling. Facilities: The room lighting wasn't great. The curtain control switch was a bit odd; I couldn't see the curtain's status when I pressed the switch. I love bright rooms, but no matter how I pressed the buttons, I couldn't just close the sheer curtain. In the end, I had to close both. On the 2nd floor, the window view was entirely a concrete wall, and on the 3rd floor, it was someone's balcony. Next time, it would be better to have the sheer curtain drawn, as seeing a concrete wall immediately upon entering isn't a good impression. I know residential buildings are close in Quanzhou, but this could definitely be optimized. Soundproofing was poor, truly. At 2 AM, just as I was getting sleepy and about to go to bed, I heard the sound of a faucet turning on next door, and it wasn't quiet. It felt like it was right next to my head. The door was heavy, making me think the soundproofing would be good, but it wasn't. I could clearly hear when the neighbors left and what they were saying. Sleeping earplugs: These would be great to have in the room. There was plenty of very hot water, and the toilet worked well. These are excellent advantages of the room. The bed was firm, which I really liked. The projector focus could be adjusted a bit more as it was a little blurry. Having a subscription to TV channels was great; I enjoyed watching shows. Environment: It's very close to Zhongshan Middle Road, and the location is the best I've stayed in so far. I feel it's even better than Lushu. I really like Huaxiang, so no complaints there. Service: I'd like to commend the staff member; her attitude was excellent. The afternoon tea drinks were also delicious, and the scones were warm, fragrant, and very tasty. Thumbs up. The scones actually helped to offset my annoyance about discovering the missing pillowcase. I stayed up late, hoping to sleep in a bit later, but the soundproofing was truly bad. Regarding the front desk staff, I only saw them during check-in and check-out; I didn't encounter them at other times. Overall, it could be optimized further, but everything else was okay.

Grand Honor Hotel

Grand Honor Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Shishi, but it’s not quite the same level as a luxury hotel in a bigger city. Generally the hotel is clean, but it’s the little things that I noticed, ie when I checked in, there were some sweet wrappers next to the bowl of sweets that weren’t cleared away. That said, the sense of space is evident in the hotel lobby, lifts, corridors and most importantly, the hotel rooms. Rooms are very spacious and well-designed, although the closet area can definitely do with brighter lights. Most amenities are provided but what put me off is that many items that would have been free in other hotels at this price-range aren’t free at Grand Honor. There is a Chinese tea set on the table and usually the loose leaf tea is provided for free but it cost ¥15 per packet. Honestly it’s not a lot of money for us, but on the flip side, surely the hotel can provide a bag of tea leaves for their guests. There are the standard free single-use packet tea in the drawer so at least there’s that. In-room slippers are not to be taken out; they’d charge you if you do - and that’s fine, but the slippers are actually really uncomfortable to wear. The small plate of fruits (banana, plum and mandarin) given at 5pm every day is a nice touch. The hotel breakfast is probably the highlight. Set on the 22nd floor with panoramic views of the city, breakfast is very enjoyable. The food quality is pretty good, but a real surprise here is the sheer diversity of food. The bread selection alone has 5-6 choices (pastries, brioche, baguette, square toast, etc), the cooked food section is almost endless (and there’s cooked Chinese vegetables! 👏🏾) and then there’s the fruit selection at the end too. My only gripe is that the coffee machine is a bit slow, and there’s only one machine so there can be a wait for coffee. Location of the hotel is a little odd; good restaurants and the main mall is about 15 mins’ walk away. There aren’t many good shops to wander around nearby. Generally, this is a solid hotel for this price point. Excellent service with very fast food delivery (using the ubiquitous delivery robots) and friendly front desk staff.

Booked the 2208 Guesthouse Kaiyuan Branch for my trip to Quanzhou, and it was a real gem! The location is absolutely fantastic – just a few minutes' walk to Kaiyuan Temple, making it super convenient for exploring the old city and trying local food. The room was clean and cozy, the bedding was super soft, and it had great natural light, making for a very comfortable stay. The host was handsome and incredibly thoughtful. He sent us a travel guide in advance and even helped us with our luggage. He also recommended a local Min Min Travel special tour route. We picked one out, and the driver took us to Luojia Temple and Golden Coast, then brought us back, which was incredibly convenient. The rooftop was the biggest surprise! I woke up early to watch the sunrise over the East and West Pagodas. The moment the morning glow slowly illuminated the twin pagodas was so beautiful I was speechless! I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Quanzhou!

Firstly, I want to emphasise that the hostel staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful. They helped me sort out a problem with my phone, shared their suggestions of places to visit, and helped me upgrade my room too. So 10/10 for the staff. To give a more honest review of the room though: Pros: The shared common room area is very spacious, and a great place to meet new friends. There are games and activities available, plus they often organised free social events like card game nights and movies. The dorm room was relatively spacious, with a desk space too. The beds have good privacy curtains. There are plug sockets by each bed for charging phones etc. Cons: The main issue I have with the dorm rooms is that there is a dedicated bathroom per room. This seems great, until you have a roommate who spends three full hours all morning recolouringtheir hair in there, while the rest of us can't use the toilet or shower. Other than that, I did feel that the location was a bit inconvenient (I had to drag my suitcase through some kind of dirty building site to get there, and it is about 15 mins walk from the main tourist area). Additionally, the beds were very uncomfortable (they've used foam mattesss toppers on wooden boards, with no actual mattress) and didn't have a shelf next to the bed or any storage lockers for bags. Also the hostel didn't provide towels for dorm room guests (which is usually standard). After the issue with the roommate hogging the bathroom (who also snored all night too...) I asked to pay the difference to upgrade to a private room. The hostel happily arranged this without any issues, and even prepared the room for me to move into early. This private room was much better - a proper mattress, towels provided, etc. It was a bit noisy when the neighbour turned on their air conditioning (since the unit was right outside the window), but other than that I have no complaints.

All in all, this homestay is good value for money and i would like say thank you to the owner of this homestay for the pleasant stay during my trip. Definitely we will come back again Quanzhou just want stay in Lanxin courtyard only.
