You can have a close-up view of the bell tower and West Street arcade through the west and south windows without leaving home, and overlook the twin towers of Kaiyuan Temple and Quanzhou. Half of the city can be seen with fireworks, but there is no hustle and bustle. The decoration of the hotel is low-key and simple, and various details convey a thoughtful sense of relaxation. The room is spacious and exquisitely decorated. The bedding is a light warm yellow, the bath towels are an impressive dark blue, and the toothpaste is made from Italian MARVIS. The tea sets are clumsy but elegant, the tea is made from mountain spring water, the red tea is mellow in the mouth, and the snacks are of good quality. Excellent hotel. It gets everything right. Welcoming, easy check in, comfortable and spacious rooms, clean (which for a large hotel with such high occupancy is the clearest way to see that it is a very well managed hotel!) and a full, delicious breakfast buffet with healthy choices. I’ve stayed there several times and think there must be a new manager because the post Covid version is especially good. A shopping area adjacent to the hotel offers a good place to wander. I’m a Hilton Diamond member but chose to stay at the Wanda Vista when I’m in Quanzhou.

A small lane will take you feom the hotel directly there in a matter of minutes, (and surprisingly past a small statue of Godzilla next to the canal). Nearby is many good places to eat, and a cafe called Debut. The hotel room was very clean - the towels were spotless. The hotel blends local Quanzhou style with the boss ' own personal history as a Kung Fu master. It was interesting to see the bosses' sporting achievements in reception and then again have that theme come through in the room's taichi wall hanging.
