"Newly renovated, the rooms are exceptionally clean, and even the toilet seats are heated, which is a really nice touch. From the second-floor balcony, you can see three towers directly, and enjoying a drink on the terrace in the evening is absolutely delightful. The guesthouse's location is also excellent; turn right and a 3-minute walk takes you to a local wet market, which has a wonderful vibe. Turn left, and in about 5 minutes, you'll reach Ziyang Street. Food and drinks are all within easy reach. Plus, the guide the owner sent us was super helpful. Thumbs up! I'll definitely stay here again next time. When we checked in, they even gave each of us a cup of grass jelly drink, which was a very warm welcome."

"This hotel, touted as a must-stay for Shanghainese visiting Linhai, certainly lives up to its reputation! Or at least, that's what the book 'Linhai is Quite Interesting' claims. It says the building was originally a pawn shop, later transformed into a hotel named 'Yu Tong Feng' by a local owner with a passion for preservation. It remarkably survived the pandemic and has now become one of the two essential spots for Shanghainese tourists in Linhai – since I couldn't get a table at Xīnrongji (which has a 500 RMB tea fee!), staying here felt like a decent compromise. Ah, about the hotel's unique features – as soon as you enter the room, you'll notice them. The most impressive is definitely their bathtub. Just look at the size; it's practically big enough for three people, absolutely incredible! Backing onto Jinshan Mountain and facing the Lingjiang River, perhaps it allows guests to feel Linhai's complex relationship with water, even from their beds."

The New Century Mingting Hotel is perfectly situated between Ziyang Street and Donghu Lake, with both just about 500 meters away, so I walked everywhere during my entire stay. There were also diverse dining options; I checked out Rong Xiaoguan and a local old-style restaurant. The hotel was clean and the service was warm. When it started to drizzle on my way to Donghu Lake, the concierge even offered an umbrella! 🌂"

"Cleanliness: The hotel was incredibly clean, I barely saw any dust and there were no strange odors. The soundproofing was also excellent; even with a full house, I couldn't hear any noise from the neighboring rooms.
Facilities: They offer breakfast and a chess/card room. On the first floor, there's a vending machine and portable chargers available.
The hotel is quite close to all the attractions, and the price is very reasonable, making it excellent value for money. The rooms are also very spacious. On the first floor, they have a blackboard recommending good local restaurants. Intime Department Store is just about a kilometer away, which is very convenient, and there are many convenience stores and tobacco shops nearby. Overall, my experience was fantastic!"

The boss communicated in advance and helped us carry our luggage. He was very considerate. The environment is indeed very quiet and suitable for relaxing. , the boss and his wife knew that we had a baby and helped us upgrade the room for free. They were so loving~ It is worth mentioning that the cooking skills of the boss's wife yyds! Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all delicious🤤. I communicated with the boss for a while in the evening. The boss’ craftsmanship is admirable. The carpentry in the room was all done by the boss himself, and the bedding was so comfortable ~ I couldn’t bear to leave until I left🥹 The boss also gave me handmade brown sugar as a gift. If I have another chance in the future, I will definitely come back~

LLvsusudebanbanmaoCao Su almost satisfied all my imaginations of a secluded countryside, with a quiet village, trickling water, stone walls and green tiles, and bamboo forests rustling in the wind. Unlike Beijing, where I live, the mild and humid countryside in the south of the Yangtze River touched me almost instantly.
Back to Cao Su, the owner Shuicao is enthusiastic and gentle, the aunt in the store is kind and amiable, and the two dogs in the yard, Xiaohei and Heijian, are extremely smart and well-behaved. The best mornings and nights here are when you can stroll around the village or sit in the yard and read after eating the healthy breakfast prepared by the aunt in the morning. At night, you can listen to the chirping of insects and lie on a recliner to watch the stars in the sky. Returning to nature is really realized here.
This morning, I left the store and returned to Beijing. Xiaohei and the aunt were not sent to the village entrance by me. I think I will come back, because Cao Su not only has scenery, but more importantly, it has human touch.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is quite charming—it’s a large, old house that has been nicely converted into several hotel rooms. Our room was very comfortable.
However, a heads-up regarding the bathroom: there was no door on the toilet area, and the shower was an all-glass enclosure. Since I was traveling with my husband, it wasn't an issue for us, but if you are traveling with friends, you might want to be aware of this lack of privacy.
The location is excellent! It’s right next to the City Wall and super close to several great restaurants and cool bars.
We also liked the service; the staff were quite attentive. One thing I found confusing, though, was that they didn't register my address as per the usual government standard for foreign guests, which most hotels in China follow.
As for cleanliness, it was standard for China—there were a few stray hairs in parts of the room (usually women's hair), but I find this happens in practically any hotel here.
Overall, it was a good stay!

I just wish the room was a bit bigger, but it was still comfortable for me and my friend. It's right on Ziyang Street, very close to East Lake, and next to Shanxing Gate, so the location is fantastic.

GGuest UserThis is a new hotel within walking distance of the great wall and food street. Around the corner there are tons of eateries, you won't have trouble finding dinner here.
Check-in was smooth and the rooms are brand new and super clean. This hotel had the best breakfast I had during my 2-week trip in China. Great coffee, and it included local dishes and snacks (the seaweed filled cookies are so good!).
Staff was attentive, and would help you whenever they can, and you get a small token of appreciation during checkout (cookies!)
I wish I had a bit more time in Linhai, and this hotel was part of the reason!

We stayed there for one night on the sixth night of the Chinese New Year. There were four of us in two rooms. On the seventh day, I felt itchy and clicked in to take a look. I felt disappointed. I will try to travel later in the future. Just one day later, housing prices fell sharply starting from the evening of the seventh day of the ***** New Year.

The only problem was the soundproofing was a little poor. Last night after 3:00 PM, there were still men and women chatting and laughing next door. Otherwise, there was nothing to complain about. It was also very convenient to sell food nearby. I will book this hotel again next time I'm in this area. Please ignore the poor pixel of my phone 😂
